@@adamboots1 Mostly books from the history courses I took in college, for example "A History of Western Society: Volume 1", and "Sources of the Western Tradition: Volume 1". My true passion for reading is Tolkien, and a book titled " The Legend of Sigurd and Gurdrun" is a great read. Tolkien has some great translations including Beowulf, and Sigurd and Gurdrun focuses on early Norse legends and mythology.

I quit my job today to free myself from constant depression and feeling chained to a desk, only able to enjoy a few hours of the week and only a few more on the weekend. Even in the good times, my thoughts were plagued with dread. The way ahead is unclear but I work for myself now, and I am free to fail, to succeed, to live under my own strength. I can't explain why, but this music helps me feel strong. The second song, Norupo, is the sound of my freedom today.

The big three worked hard at disconnecting us from each other. The plan worked flawlessly didn't it.

I was on the verge of tears for the entirety of Futha. This band, this people, this land, these songs. This history. I feel a calling from within me that hearkens back to eons before me. Nothing has made me feel like this before. Being a German 3rd Generation American, this makes me have a desire to dig deeper into my heritage. I found Heilung from Krigsgaldr, and in exchange, Heilung found my future. Words cannot express how grateful I am for Heilung being in my life. Awareness of my people's past, my current, and my descendent's future is a gift that cannot possibly be repaid. Thank you.

Sadly, the 85 people who disliked this are the ones who need this healing the most!

Having recently lost my first child and my brother, I learned there is so much to learn from these songs that most listeners don"t comprehend. (I understand nothing, yet, still working on it.) However, this album and these songs bring me joy that would otherwise be total sorrow, and hope where there would otherwise be despair. I owe Heilung my life, all they have to do is ask anything of me, and I will see it done or die trying. Listen to their music, Let them into your life. you will not regret it.

We've been raised in a Disneyland world where pain, tragedy, misery and sorrow are expected to be pretended away and replaced with sugar cookie aroma smiles. This pretended world doesn't prepare us to deal with these very real things. I feel, and judging by comments like this that others also feel, like Heilung is outside the Disney gates, calling us out into reality. Joy means nothing if you're denied the sorrow.

My wife didn't, and we are no longer together. I have healed from that too. Your kind words and perspective mean more than I can convey. Thank you. The word "heilung" is one of those words that don't translate its entire meaning to modern English because it has several definitions based on the context you use it in. The ones I'm aware of are purification, cleansing, and healing. To me, Heilung's specific sort of purification/healing speaks of "making whole what is broken", and not merely "fixing it because it broke". The feeling I get from their music isn't so much a "making the hurt/pain vanish from existence", but more of a "correcting the hurt/pain and remembering the lessons learned from it so I can move forward stronger". To me, that is the magic of Heilung.

Traust is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I didn't understand any of it, but as many listeners of Heilung know, it's more about feeling the music rather than knowing what the lyrics mean. This album, along with their others, is breathtaking.

I understand it's about letting go of things that "bind" you. In concert however....it has a deeper feeling of surrender. I took my 23 year old son to see them in concert. We both got goosebumps during this song. It's one thing to listen to them, another thing to see them in concert.

Honestly, I find that knowing the context and what they were trying to do with a song, does deepen the feeling even more imo. It deffo makes it harder to lose it from your mind, I can assure you of that lol.

Heilung's music has really helped me find new hobbies to fill certain voids: flint knapping, archery, survival shelter building, gardening, and hopefully one day I'll have a successful hunt with my longbow :)

The more I listen, the more spiritually awakened I become. The more woke I am, the more I can learn and truly lead in Odin's delight. Keep releasing albums like this! It's healing and envigorating to our minds, our spirits and these vessels we carry around.

"Othan" may be my favorite piece of art of all time! I have to admit, each time I listen to it I am mesmerized and can't hold back tears. So powerful!

These aren't just songs. These are stories, and revelations and invocations of nature and spirit. These are reflections of ancestors and paths well worn. This group is leading us along a new path where we can exist in this modern world and maintain our connection with the earth as it's defenders. I am grateful for this music and expression.

Aw man that sucks to hear your SO doesn't appreciate Heilung! Ever since I found them one day while I was looking for music to listen to at work I haven't been able to stop listening to them. In fact, they are all I listen to anymore right now haha. Whenever I want to listen to music the first thing that comes to mind is Heilung. Luckily my fiancee really enjoys their music also, not as much as I do unfortunately but she still enjoys it nonetheless.

That part with the heavy inhales at the beginning really hits me in the 'I'm out of shape and need to start working out as my new years resolution' bone. And the arrows later hit me straight in the Elder Scrolls.

I have literally spent months under the moon and surrounded by my tools of craft just meditating dancing and now going into work constantly brewing drinks and serving so much energy. I'm half way lost but all over the place omfg Such great music and inspiration This is giving my spirit life

I just spent a painfull amoutn of money buying theese albums and a pin XD late at night, listening in the dark while I paint, This album just took me somewhre else. It hurts me a little because the man who got me into longform storytelling albums is no longer with us, and I really wish I could could bring this to him. I know he would have flipped out as hard as I did for this.

I'm sure many of you already know this, but much of this stuff is great for running. Instant trance, and you just keep going.

skinny hahaha that's brilliant to hear. My playlist used to be mainstream music, it's not anymore. I have a special "MTB/Viking" playlist now to get me up the hills to hit those downhill jumps, and I swear I'm more aggressive now. This music can hit your life in so many ways!!

I agree with you, I don't know how many times I had Norupo on repeat before this album came and Svanrand is insanely good. The flying arrows with the beat. Chills!

I could immediately tell that the first song is in Old Norse - I am close to intermediate level in Old Norse and Icelandic, but I must say, the letter ö isn’t an Old Norse letter, so it is supposed to be the letter ǫ instead of ö, but I think the reason why many spell it with the Icelandic letter ö is, because the ǫ isn’t found on the keyboard and must always be copy / pasted, and I also noticed that they used the Icelandic pronunciation in Old Norse, the Old Norse pronunciation being a bit different!

It's impossible to pick which album is the best. Every ritual is a piece of art. As poster below said you just feel it. I agree. Don't try to translate, just close your eyes and feel it.

Powerful, inspiring, magnificent! Heilungs' magic... I am addicted to it and I love it! Hail Heilung, Hail Odinn and all Æsir!

This album being dedicated to the primordial feminine spirit makes it that much more amazing

Just arrived in my office (22:30 hrs) and the power went out... Listening to this album in the dark while looking at the hills it really make my ears enjoy more this class work!

Wilds of the earth.

I love this music and I love being a heathen. Becoming a Volva matters to me very much, as well as paying respect to the old gods that I have chosen to focus on and other key characters in Norse old faith. I love the Jotun, Nornir, and Valkyrjur most of all. Old Gods protect all of you, regardless of who you may offer to. :-)

These songs took me through a deep ancestral healing, the uncontrollable tears and emotions flowing through me! I don't understand but my body does. Thank you for creating such magic ❤️

I legit just went into the bathroom, turned off the lights, synced up to my sound bar and blared this whilst showering, it was beautiful

I first listened to the album while laying extremely still in pitch darkness and from Elddansurin to Hamrer Hippyer I experienced a floating sensation. I felt like I was coming out of my own body for a moment and it was wonderful. Your music continues to move me and bring me such joy, Heilung. Danke!

This album sprouted tree roots and green moss from the walls and turned my dogs into dire wolves. Having my internal organs ripped out by dire wolves was totally worth it for this album experience
