Size and performance kind of remind me of the MFD Crosswind, an older larger twin. T2 is just a bit on large side for me. Glad to see Heewing has another good well balance offering though. Do agree with Lee, an option for a longer wingspan (optional accessory), and longer tail boom could ad versatility to the T1. It's a nice size, and having added versatility of the design adding even more to the fun of flying.

@Painless360 Those are fine T1 alteration suggestions, but I got the T1 for its backpackability, so longer wings and tail are not for me. My 2m Opterra is great for motor-off soaring, if I want to thermal.

I built a t1 cone from laminate floor insulation (ended up 50-60 grams lighter than real t1). After the first few flights I ended up extending the tail boom by 20% and increased the wing root an tip and length by 20% as well. It's was extremely floaty and able to catch thermals extremely well which is what I wanted. I did unfortunately crash and total it but that was my error flying in terrible conditions. it will be rebuilt this winter all the electronics survived so I lost about £8 in insulation and about £3 of ply wood so not too bad.

Excellent review. The conclusion is spot on. Modifications to the T1 would (IMHO) hit the target as well and sharing some of the platform with T1 would save some design expenses (similarly to cars sharing platforms between models). It would be nice to have some innovation especially for the nose. For a plane of that size, the nose should be able to accommodate an action cam like GoPro. No need for an HD system to fight for a space with action cam in detachable nose. You should give Adam more exposure in your videos. He is like Columbo's wife or Hopkirk (and Randall) - always mentioned but never seen :o)))

Have you tried differential thrust mixed into the rudder? Might be a pain if you have to map the escs to individual channels, but might be worth it. There are a few twins that use dt instead of rudder. Happy landings 😊

Hi. How do you prevent the propeller to hit the ground on landing ?! On mine, just on the maiden flight, the propeller scratched the ground and since then there is an unusual noise in the motor. This is my first twin pull model. I was used to large pushers like the Volantex untill now.

Hello Friend! I recently bought a t2 cruise and it's a really effective and quiet plane..but also slow (especially when climbing). I wanted to ask you what propellers should I put on it to speed it up a bit? Should I try some 9 inch propellers? I know I can't get too much, but I don't expect to either. It currently has 8055 size propellers and 730kv sunnysky 2216 motors

Adding a larger prop can increase the current a motor draws dramatically. I have a 'motor and prop' playlist that covers it in detail. Increasing the prop diameter from 8 to 9" (with same pitch) will increase the amp draw by about 13%. Adding more pitch will increase it by a lot more. You need to be looking at extra pitch for additional speed but watch out for the max amperage.. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dman0txtc6jUadI.html

Hi Lee thanx for another excellent review , I'm going to go for the tx16 only because you got so many good video help tutorials on it, I'm deslexic and find it difficult reading and writing , after going through a lot of your very helpful vids, I still can not work out what I should buy that will work with the tx16, so may I ask you if you was starting out to try and do long range fpv for the first time what would you buy, I've got what I I need to start making the aircraft, it will be the PHOTON Motorglider using Experimental Airlines techniques , I got the foam and now looking at your best glue vid, lee if I may ask another question how high will I be able to fly, also after watching your vids with that other nice man who owns the website where by you enter info and it give you an answer, with him you spoke about how faster or how to fly longer , but I am trying to find out how to increase the pay load capacity of a plane ? also is there on your you tube a beginners guide to make something like what Experimental Airlines is doing , because I am 100 % that I will smash up this plane at least 50 times, but using his way of doing things at least I can remake the plane. any way thanks, now Im off to try and find out what to buy to work with my tx16 to start doing long range fpv, is it the ranger elrs module ? i can't find any where how high or how far i will be able to fly with it then we we have had google live feed range. if only you lived in London then i could come round give you the plane ask you to sort it out, and i would gladly buy you a couple of pints,😂😂😂

How is the temp of your WS-VTX mounted in the side of the FPV bay? (if you still have it there) Did you end up having to add a fan for extended flight times or is it getting sufficient airflow? I've put a pan/tilt servo in the top of the bay so I'm concerned about venting. I'm worried about it being a dark plane in the hot summer sun here in Florida (USA), curious if you recall the temps you're getting and if you've flown on any particularly hot days? tyia

Motor and prop selection is a trade off between max speed, static thrust and efficiency. Too much of one, you lose a lot of the other two. It's a tradeoff. See my video on it in the motor and prop series. The setup could be tweaked for different bland of strengths... Happy flying

observations 1:37 manufacturers continue to make DUMB basic design mistakes. the mass of wing-located servos should be located forward-of the thirty percent of chord line and as far inboard as is practical. the span of the elevator should not be truncated. there is one drawback to the use of foam. a foam wing has an abnormal span-wise dom. distribution of mass. 1:46 thick trailing edges make more DRAG, all of the time.!!! 7:14 it is the opposite of smart to make the tail HEAVIER, by putting servos there.!!! d
