@@eTootsi ok, but what I'm asking is, is the walk speed in Paralives going to be something you direct your para to do, or does it work more like a trait that you assign them so that they either always walk at that speed, or walk at that speed by default.

It would be really great if there was a "search" feature that the paralives do. I always found it really weird for a Sim to go to a lot, and instantly go talk to someone hiding behind a wall like they just KNEW they were there already. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this correctly. Loving the updates though!

Like an animation that triggers when visiting a different location to literary look around and "see" who they can have a conversation with and those who are behind walls wouldn't be included after that animation was finished.
I'm fascinated with every single improvement. The graphics and game mechanics keep looking better and better. It feels like it was just yesterday when I saw the small snippet of the cute Rottweiler and I can't believe how far the development has come!
Other than the sharp turns, it's coming along nicely! Having them look in the direction they're turning before the turn, like we do when we scout the path ahead, would look amazing. I do think they're walking too close to the walls on the sharp turns but that's a preference. Having them adjust their distance to the walls depending on their presence and the width of the corridors would be a nightmare to code with all the detection mechanisms that would require. I imagine it's difficult enough just to have two Paras walk by each other without either getting routing errors 😂
I’m amazed (see what I did there) at all the different things that go into developing a life sim game from watching this game’s development progression. So many things you just don’t think about when playing. You guys are doing a fantastic job!
I wonder if there's any way to smooth out the sudden turning when walking around corners, because it does look a little unnatural at times 😅

Let's just get the functionality in before worrying about cosmetics, there will be a time for that too.
Love that they’re using hedge mazes to test pathfinding
Incredible! Most people don’t realize how difficult pathfinding is to perfect and how much goes into making such a mechanic in a game. Kudos to the paralives team! Love seeing just how much progress this game has made over the years.
Wow! Way cool. You guys are doing a great job creating Paralives from scratch. Keep up the hard work. It's paying off.
So smooth and just flows so lovely! I love every update from you guys! I can see very clearly all your efforts 🙏✨🥳
YES! This is the kind of stuff that actual gets me hyped for the game. Sure, customization is cool and all, but stuff like pathfinding is way more important.
I'm glad they're putting so much work into pathfinding, which is a severely overlooked feature that can make all the difference in terms of playability. Will be interested to see more of how "parafolk" avoid different types of obstruction.
it would so cool if there was actual maze features built in that let your paras wander around it and get lost, like perhaps you you tag certain fences as a maze. Dunno, could be cool
There's something magical about seeing them ,in the same space. I'm loving it.
I can't wait for this game to come out, it looks so sick!
Looking good!!! I'm sure you guys noticed, they were walking through maze walls. The only improvements is obviously avoiding walls, or at least bump into them instead of going through (this would actually be cool and funny, having parfolks tripping over things on the ground, or joking around and walking into a wall, or coming back from the doctor and having bad balance. Just some thoughts!). and if possible maybe a little less jerking with transitioning/pivoting directions, I'm sure this is difficult, but maybe the animations could be smoothed.
Holding hands while walking, please! I would love more interaction through walk, and would add a little bit more sentiment. But I'm already in love with the game.
I love this way of testing pathfinding! It just makes sense
Does this mean our Paras can actually step over objects instead of getting stuck behind them? 😭

It would be cool if they walked over, but had a clumsiness trait that caused them to occasionally trip over things!
I love how they don’t walk in a super straight line, it makes them look so much more natural
I'd love to see some idle animations happening with the upper body as they walk! Like, scratching their head, crossing their arms etc,
This is really great! Characters don't get stuck and then unable to move forward, seems really seamless and gorgeous to say the least. Thank you 😁
request: a "wander to location" interaction when walking to a location - this would help the paras to actually take a LESS opportune route to a location and making mazes a bit more fun :)
The world looks so pretty and it's not even done yet. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
I love the flowers and how the child runs through the maze while the adults take their time. Keep up the amazing work!!
I love the little circle icon underneath the character.💖
The animation when changing directions needs some polish, but the walk cycles are so well synced! The feet actually don't slide on the ground like most non-mocapped animations!
I love how there’s no glitching into each other or the hedges!
I love how clearly I can see the characters!
If it's possible for them to take corners a little less tight then I'd suggest that, otherwise, awesome!
This reminded me when I tried recreating an A* pathfinding algorithm on Unity. I was a beginner and still am, but I managed to get it to work. And this is exactly what I did, made multiple mazes, and it surprised me everytime, how my unit got to the destination. I'm looking forward to your game. :)
This is a great way to test that function. Now try more complex and almost impractical mazes with narrow corners and POISON and FLAMES WITH SPIKES... I meannnn.. make it harder :) Oh also I recommend making animations and sidestepping movements to get between certain spaces like between a coffee table and a sofa. Add in how much the width of space should be between each object and voila
Can’t wait till this game comes out❤Keep up the great work!
its beautiful seeing each piece of this game come together. my time would mostly be building/decorating lol
At first I thought this was just going to be an advanced housing/room/aesthetic designer for art references or just setting a mood but you're really going all out on this. As a kid that spent his awkward years losing hours to sims2 and sims3 I'm really excited to see what comes from this! I'm really enjoying the suburban and park aesthetics you've been showing but I won't lie and say that I hope urban settings will be shown in some small part in future updates; keep up the good work
I already saw this on twitter but I'm rewatchng it cause I love what ive seen of this game and thsi clip is amazing. I love how the para's move in diagonals like humans would irl, cutting as much of the road a spossible even when the difference is small. It just feels very realistic. Lovely progress. keep it up guys!!
I love the way the lighting and graphics look! So peaceful and colorful! Looks like a dream!
Guys, it's amazing! I already dream of playing it! I wish you good luck in further development! You deserve a lot of attention! You have talent! I believe in you and will continue to monitor your progress!
The music makes me feel some kind of nostalgia
I already feel like I’m going to have the best relaxing time on this game, there’s everything I’ve always asked for (and couldn’t find in the sims)
Wow! Amazing progress here. Love the kid running ahead.
It would be dope to have them look around while walking. Maybe when they're in a tight and narrow space like this, they could be programmed to look at the walls.
Wow, it looks so beautiful!! Great work!
That looks so good wow! Though i do have to say that the characters are going around the corners pretty sharply, i presume that will get fixed over time but everything else looks great!
The kid running ahead and around a corner scared me. Wonder if there should be a thing where if the kid is outta sight, the adult watching them will speed up to catch up
This was so peaceful
Now I want to see if they can walk around if you place a plate or any object on the floor in front of them . 😂 Keep up the good work! 🥰
This is amazing and so exciting!! Great work. All your hard work is paying off beautifully
i love the almost ethereal glow this game has in the sunshine!!!
I love the smoothness of the animations. It’s so pleasant to watch.
I remember playing the sims 1, building mazes so they can survive with the things hidden in them, but the sims know exactly where all the things are, me 5 year old self was so disappointed
I get so excited every time I see an update. I'm going to have to take a few weeks off when this comes out so I can sit and play!
Excellent work! They move quite well! It would be very useful to be able to create paths for the parapeople to follow and not walk across the grass, although the most rebellious could because of their personality.
I love it!!!❤ Keep up the great work Paralives team!

Yay! They made it! You've done a great job making the movements look natural and smooth. Congrats on figuring out the pathfinding! It's so beautiful! And peaceful
Your team must be working their asses off you must be proud we are all so friggen excited haha!! Keep up the great work!!
It'd be cool if the path tracing could learn. Like the first few times it's presented with a "maze" or a complicated layout (like a new town), it takes a few attempts to learn how to best get to where you wanna go
I'm so happy to see the journey 💜
Wow! This is amazing!😃
That would be an interesting way to make sure the paras are always taking the shortest route to their destination. For example you put a sink at one end of the maze and the para at the other, now you could see if the para chooses the long way around the maze or a quick way inside the maze. It’s something that annoys me endless with the sims when they take an extra long route even though a shorter one was available.
Keep up all the good work! Wishing the best for this game!
I'm so excited for Paralives! I will wait as for as long as it takes! 😭♥️
I think, especially in a maze (at least if you are there for the first time), it would be wonderful, if parafolks would just stop on every corner and look, unless they choose where to go.
Love these plant patterns, cant wait to get stuck in
I'm gonna have so much fun playing this! Can't wait
