I think it just depends on much force you want to be pushing your mouse around. I like to aim within 100 degrees which gives me the best aim. So i use heavier mouse with a control pad to use higher sens to achieve the range of motion.
I remember when fancy gaming mice had slots to put metal weights of you own choosing to customize how heavy or light you wanted it.
As a claw grip user i often correct my aim by lifting the mouse and anything above 90g felt unconfortable. i feel like i need more power to grip and lift the mouse. My muscle quickly tense up which is bad because relaxed muscle is the way to go

I use fingertip grip and I love heavy mice with high dpi. If I could use a 20 lb dumbbell as a mouse I would 😂
i was using a $25 HP wireless mouse for about 3 months for gaming, but it only had 4 buttons, and it felt way too light, since it was mostly hollow to save on cost. switched to the Logitech 502 Lightspeed with an extra 8 grams of weight added, and it feels perfect. much better for higher sensitivity players like myself

.. with a heavy mouse you could feel your mouse better and that means you can feel your aim better. With a light mouse you will be faster. If you are a beginner try heavy and then try light. Once you find your grip you should be fine because you can feel the mouse better with heavy mouse and this will help you to find your grip and grip is the most important thing when it comes to aim if you ask my opinion. Of course if you feel good with the heavy mouse you can keep it. Love your videos Dazs. Keep doing it !

I dont find the sweet spot yet, and the shapes doesnt really matter but i prefer ergo mouse. From what i experienced 85g is a bit too heavy (for my wrist) on the other hand 60g feels too light. its harder nowadays to find 70g+ mouse (in my country) Sorry for my super broken english
My ideal mouse would be a heavy wireless mouse for stability with minimal friction mouse pad to keep the mouse gliding smooth during slower movement. Rubber grips on the sides to make mouse lift during looking around in-game easier and buttons separated from the top plate for more responsive clicks.
for me having over 30 mice in different weights, i can say that a heavy mouse is good for flicks and a lighter mouse is good for tracking. in kovaaks this very noticeable!, a very light mouse compared to a heavier one is much more sensitive for jittering in your aim, because of the low inertia to move it. A heavier mouse is more stable in aim but due to the heavier weight the mouse is harder to stop, and can feel to slow with larger flicks. Another advantage of a lighter mouse is that you can lower your sensitivity and still be as quick as a heavier one on a higher sensitivity (this is a huge advantage to me) confidence is another thing that's plays a big role in this, if i play aggressive with a sniper i feel much more confident with a light mouse then going Rambo with a heavier one but for more then 3 years playing with different weights i can somewhat say what i think is the best (for me) lightweight mouse 50-65 grams max mouse with high stopping power (mouse skates as rough as they can be :) high friction mouse pad this is for me the best of 2 worlds and it gives me the most confidence. great video btw Dazs!!

I do not completely agree with both, the video and this comment. From the physics point of view the lighter mouse is always better!!! The lighter mouse will cause less static as well as less kinetic friction. The lighter mouse will also have less momentum that means it will be always (ALWAYS!!!) easier to start moving with the desired speed and easier to stop. The argument about the "too fast glide" with light mouse is just not a good argument. Instead of getting a heavier mouse, get a more control pad (causing higher static and kinetic friction). That will make you have the "desired resistance" while keeping the momentum low. Anyways this is only from the physics point of view. People might have already built the muscle memory so that the heavier mice can feel more accurate.
Wow this was really helpful💯
I looked up this question because I gamed on the same mouse for about 5 years now (fairly light). I just got a new one today looking for extra mouse buttons. So I got a mmo mouse with 12 side mouse buttons. And they had prefilled it with weights (very heavy). Played a few games of Overwatch to test it out. My right hand cramped up so bad. I took the weights out and I feel much better playing again. I'm just glad I got a mouse with extra buttons for faster communication keys. Also I play Ark without their dumb hotbar keys now, very nice!
I came here because I’m researching a mouse as a present for my partner, but I can’t find one as heavy as his current one. I wanted to know what the effect of a few grams would make, so now I can buy him a new one with confidence, and I understand why we look for opposite qualities in gaming mice.
A lot of mice preference comes down to finding out over time. I do believe there is such thing as too light and too heavy you need to find a sweet spot where the mouse is easy to move and also easy to stop FOR YOU. I've tried tons of mice from all the different brands, shapes, weights, and even some weird ones like the Carbon Fiber mouse that's like 23g. I find for a lot of people overtime they start to prefer lighter mice because it is easier to move. But at the same time there is a decent amount of people that like their mice to be on the chonkier side. For a lot of people that watch this video just know that someone else's recommendation for a mouse is THEIR preference.

Mice I’ve had light and heavy i prefer a little bit of weight for comfort and stability. It plays into it having a bit of feed back. For real chunk factor I would recommend the warlord g5 from dragonwar it mostly being made of metal with a nice build quality and swappable side panels for a slim or wide base. Another I’ve liked from dragon was as well was the zodiac 12 still a bit chunky even with out the removable weights but not crazy like the other above.

I thought about buying the glorious model o wireless, which wheights about 70g. I want to switch to a much lower sensitivity but the cable destroys long flicks and tracking. I've been using the heavier end of mice for over half a decade now. Light mice feel too inaccurate for me, I mainly use my wrist to aim with some light fingertip use, and I like having a fairly low friction mouse pad. I always overshoot on light mice and need to put my sensitivity down or else aiming simply feels impossible. I also like the feel of the weigh and it makes me feel more confident with playing. I cannot really imagine using a light mouse. As well as light mice tend to fall out of my hand easily and get yeeted whilst I'm trying to pull a play off. I like to mainly play strategy games, or movement shooters such as ultrakill which requires lots of fast mouse movement and semi accurate movement. I get 0 hand fatigue. Light mice also give me carpal tunnel as I need to force myself to put less strength onto my aim and for some reason it causes me pain and difficulty doing so. Heavy mice at least around 120g+ are the way for me
I like heavy mice and a low friction mousepads. When paired they give you the best of both worlds.

I have been playing fps games for over a year. One thing that really is important when it comes to mice is ergonomics. It's different for each one of us. While buying just look if it feels good. Don't buy if it looks good. Ergonomics will define if you have 100% control over your mouse.

Tell that to reviewers that shill the Starlight 12 and G Pro X Superlight to hell and back lmao. Add a couple more lightweight mice to that list and you'll get a good idea of what it looks like when a new mouse is released and it isn't light. Most people i know like heavier mice because it gives them more control... and those guys are csgo and Apex nerds. Every time i see a video comparing the G502 with some other mouse it always gets shat on for it's weight... even tho the reviewers know damn well that it's looks, ergonomics and weight are what makes it one of the most popular mice of all time. *and yes i plan on getting a G502 hero in the near future, for light gaming and school stuff.

3:32 opposite of me. I hate lightweight mouse so much it actually causes me pains on my wrist trying to "fine tune" my use of it. So I had to do what I need to do being less capable of buying "heavy mouse". Mod the eff out it. so yeah with the help of some old AAA batteries, brought that weight near 550 grams and I feel more comfortable using it. @@peoplez129 aye. with you there. Hope you can find the right balance you need in your mouse. xD
I tried both between the g502 and some 80 holed mouse i felt the switched immediately in the quality of mice and how much more uncomfortable the light mouse was between them trying to make it lighter therefor cheaper. The g502 feels very comfortable the weight does not makes all most no difference (i do not reccomend putting wights in because i feel that it is to heavy personal preference) the things with flicking makes no difference heaviness its all nonsense it does feel lighter but impacts nothing. it is also very cheap for a mouse like that. compared to light weight mouse which increases in price for being lighter = less quality less materiel. So I strongly advise getting the g502 because its cheaper better quality has more features like infinite scroll wheel sounds stupid but fun to mess around with lots more buttons. People say it has 12 programmable buttons thats way to much but the count left and right click and scroll button that brings it down less. The buttons are not in the way at all its there if you want it. My conclusion is the g502 is definitely the best mouse ever made light mouse arent bad they are just amde cheaply for companies to make more money its just a con. If you care so much about gliding the mouse has nothing to do with that its just he mouse pad.
Hey! Im planning on getting a mouse. Would you consider a 4.6 ouncr mouse heavy for a mouse?
i have a 96g mouse (razer deathadder essential), is this too heavy? i am into aim training and fps games so im wondering if the weight affects my aim
I use heavy mouse but when i tried the light one it was complete change (in good way) in my performance in certain game
Thanks , nice video
Ive been using g502 for 6 years, i wonder if id do better with a lighter mouse but i love the g502s side buttons. I just feel like with a lighter mouse id be able to move much more snappy and fluid
I have a big problem, i lift the back up in fights, the 502 i cat put weight hvere i need it not only one place
I use a wired g502 and very low sensitive aka 125pull and 1600dpi and low game sensitivity and I’m thinking on getting a lighter mice for better speed and flicking but i need another opinion on this
Off topic, but how did you get a pink one? Limited edition?
So you need a speed mouse pad if you use a heavy mouse to make it less stopping power.
I would definately appreciate some mouse pad suggestions for Logitech G502. 450mm

Lighter is better, but it wont win you games.
i always used smaller mice im gonna try big one maybe it will force me to palm grip so i can aim more with my arm instead just wrist
I have a small suggestion for G502 owners that makes the mouse considerably lighter. You can take off the base plate below the mouse, housing the weight chamber, and use the mouse without it. Discovered this a few days back whilst cleaning my mouse. It may not seem like much of a weight drop but you can most definitely feel it.

@peoplez129
Жыл бұрын
They still sell the Rival 710 here and there in places. That's as close as you're going to get. The problem is, the Rival 700 is absolutely one of the most premium feeling mice. Everything else feels like a child's toy compared to it. I used it way past its shelf life, and switched to a Corsair Sabre, which doesn't hold a candle to the Rival 700 in ergonomics and overall feel. Even though I got it on sale for $35, which is way less than I paid for the Rival 700....it feels like it's only worth $35 in comparison to the Rival 700 costing $100 when it came out. So it's definitely a downgrade compared to the Rival, but the problem is, virtually every mouse in existence today is a downgrade compared to it. Another big thing I noticed is the clicking action was also way better on the Rival. Smoother, a bit quieter, and because the Rival 700's mouse buttons were very thin flexible soft touch coated rubbery plastic, they just had an overall better feel. This Sabre might have more clicky clicks, but they feel plasticy, and the clicks might even be more sensitive, but they're too sensitive, as I've already done a bunch of accidental clicks just from slightly resting my finger on the mouse, and the Rival 700 was never a hard to click mouse, it just allowed for just enough resistance for you to rest your finger on the buttons. With the Sabre I practically have to consciously put less pressure on the button, almost like I have to hover over the button slightly. The palm grip also isn't as supportive as the Rival. And the Sabre is about 75 grams, which is almost half the Rival 700, but not necessarily in a good way. It feels like holding a hollow display mouse in comparison. Sadly, Steelseries joined this lame ultra light wireless mouse trend, even though that's not what their customers actually wanted. We wanted premium feeling mice with some heft to them. Steelseries was the only mouse maker that delivered that.
its so hard trying to shop for a heavy mouse ive been using a g502 lightspeed for a few years now but the more i use it the more i realize i dont like its shape and i honestly feel like it makes me worse at aiming so i want to try out a new one but trying to find a heavier mouse that doesnt copy the design of the 502 is hard they all look the same and the ones that dont look like they are just of poor quality

Which one is good of stopping power on low friction
thinking of getting a new mice, my heavy ass mice plus low sens is giving me arm sores
The fact that heavy mouse are good for new players is surprisingly accurate, at least for me. When I got my pc I watch a bunch of videos recommending light mouse for better aim so i bought a bunch but my aim still sucks. Bought a heavy mouse recently and it's so much easier to aim for some reason. If the problem is stability, how do I learn how to have a stable grip on a light mouse?

what i've noticed ---- Lighter= better for flicks, snappy motions (fortnite) Heavier --- better for tracking mouse control (RUST, Valorant) at the end of the day, like in the video, if you are in 70-150 Grams, i honestly don't thing its a huge difference. Lighter mice are awesome, but i notice i over extend sometimes when snapping, making me have to lower my sense to where i am using a HUGE area for flick shots e.t.c I would rather use a LITTLE heavier mouse 100 grams and bump my sense around for which game im playing (lower for RUST , Higher for games like fornite). I really am waiting for someone to make a mouse that is like 70 grams, that you can add weights up too 150 grams that would be perfect. ALSO, don't buy into the wireless fad, the wires are so so light and flimsy now you don't notice them at all, if you notice them even the slightest bit, buy a bungee, you can use it with future mice, and i guarantee it will save you over paying extra not to mention the headache of wireless. just my opinion, wireless never impressed me as much as one of the cables from my glorious mouse, honestly couldn't tell the difference.

Wrist player with high sens: light. Elbow and arm player with lower sens: heavy. The weight preference stems from the body parts used to move to mouse.
I’m not gonna sit and call people weak for preferring smaller, lighter mice, but personally I prefer bulkier, heavier ones. Recently bought a Razer Naga Pro (something like 130g) and it’s still too light AND they made it smaller than the last rendition.. For people like me with caveman hands, this is infuriating. Anyone have any suggestions for something bigger?
I use a g502.. I often get shoulder pains..even after changing sens Also whats better -high dpi/low in game sens or low dpi/high in game sens?
@RobertSusin

Shoulder pain comes from sitting incorrectly, try other desk or even a chair with arm rest to stabilize your shoulder, try to get 90 angle, and also try a ligther mice just for testing. For most recent fps nowadays high dpi should always be the best choice as long as you are super smooth, accurate and dont shake the aim, one good advice i have for you is try Kovaaks and by having an initial super high sens then try to lower it until you can do the exercises without any jittering, shakiness between switching targets and tracking, there you will have the aprox best sens for your current mouse/grip style.

Why not 500g mouse?
Lmao I found this vid n I have both what a coincidence 😂
My boyfriend got me a razer viper for Christmas. Going from a heavy €10 gaming mouse im having a really hard time adjusting to how light the Viper is. The Viper feels a bit smaller than the €10 mouse too so it doesn’t feel as comfortable for my wrist (which is important to me as im currently going to physio because i damaged my wrist whilst working in a grocery store before I got my big girl corporate job). It also has a different texture sort of plastic with bumps which to me doesn’t feel as good as the €10 mouse that has a rubbery texture. I feel very ungrateful 😅 I didn’t even hint that I needed a mouse but he must have assumed my only mouse is the Logitech pebble that i use for work. Will just have to keep trying to adjust to this new weight and feel 😊

I doubt you are going to like a too small or big mouse compared to what you are accustomed to. The most important thing is the shape, which goes along with the size, and then other factors like weight, but like the author of the video stated, the pad can affect how the mouse glides despite the weight. I operated a pretty long while with a small mouse, but it's just made my hand sore, it was simply unpleasant. The best mouse is (the following logic applies to many other things as well) the one you don't think about too much and rather focus on what you are doing instead of the tool at hand. I'm switching to an Asus Rog Gladius II Core from Razer Deathadder Elite, since I have had three Deathadders total over the years, but I'm fed up with Razer, this time related to the Synapse software; the Asus mouse is pretty much the same in size, overall similar, and it was also cheap. 😊
I think I've come to the conclusion I prefer
I have never seen someone put two fingers on left click until now.
man’s became Einstein mid video 💀
I started with shitty mice, weighing on 160g. But i feel like it will help me once i get my g102 which weights 100g less than my older mice..

60g will feel feather like when you switch from heavy to light mice
I love heavy mice because I don't play competitive games so I don't need a light mouse and I like the feel of a heavy mouse
i found out that i had to lower my sensitivity when i switched to a light mouse since its easier to move the mouse around.

I do the same, I raise my sens when its a heavier mouse. It is a way to equalize and balance out where you feel comfortable.

This is correct. I read physics at university and lighter mouse don't equal better. Lighter mouses will make it easier to do faster movements on the cost of making small movements. Heavier mouses make is easier to make smaller movements but on the cost of speed. This is actually the same bennefits and disadvantages as to lowering your sens and increasing it. The reason to why it's easier to do smaller movements with your wrist instead of your arm is because of the angular acceleration/velocity will be lower with your wrist, which maybe make it easier to understand how weight affects the mouse. With other words when using a light mouse you can lower your sensetivity to gain the control you have lost and lose speed, or if you have a heavier mouse you can increase your sens to lose control and gain speed.
Woah, finnaly learned some physics. Thanks

Just curious am i the only psychopath that likes to add the weighted plates to there G502 😂
I preper heavier mouse due to my hand being fck up, if yall work manual labors your hands get shaky over time and pretty much isn't as slick as before, my control isn't as good like before too.
