I really needed to hear this. Im so reliant on hype. It feels like most of the guys from our era are. I remember dudes were throwing around tik tak bottles w dbol in it & throwing 45s on the weight stacks or having 300 lb dudes sit on top of a fully loaded leg press. These kids nowadys literally lay on their gym bags in between sets. But maybe this new way is the more holistic approach. I cant tell u how many times ive burned out & started regressing. The 1st time i deadlifted 600 was after taking 3 months off of caffeine bc i had completely grinded myself into the ground.

"If your body dies, your brain dies. If your brain dies, your body dies. Consciousness needs the vessel of the body." Ig we have to define terms & what we mean when we say consciousness. If we mean qualia & things like experiencing the color red or what its like to be a bat. To be sentient. Maybe we need our physical sensory organs to perceive things the way we do now. But i definitely believe we still have consciousness after we leave this physical body.

Stress and the body is so real. Took me long time to realize this tho and/or believe it. Long story short in 2017 few years after a major move two states away and work stress getn worse worse every day I still never took a break from training sometimes only 1 day a week. Still figured I was pretty healthy because of that and my diet was good no booze or drugs. Lot more here but too much to type lol so everything pretty much hurt all the time but my shoulder was getn way worse woke up morning after a horrible squat session with a golf ball sticking outta my groin figured yup hernia…wrong lol took a month or so to get to the bottom of it but stage 4 cancer by time I was diagnosed from to both armpits and everywhere in between I’m here to tell the story tho after 2 yrs of keytruda, many surgeries and a 40lb weight loss I’m currently 54 and all my lifts are biggest they’ve ever been. Cancer free of course now but yea I’m convinced it was the stress that did me in I had 6 months left on the clock. Did I continue training through the illness? Of course I did 😂 when I could but I changed a lot!

The moment it all clicked for me that the mind and body are so connected was after years of mediating. I had a realization that the mind is so powerful that science can’t even explain most of it, that’s why placebo groups in scientific experiments exist. Funny how that example was right in front but I never noticed 😂

Season 14 fusion is super fun and also challenging with the volume! Staying true to the RPE on main lifts as best I can and doing the cardio you suggest has really helped.

i´m so against hype after your videos that I often times wear headphones with no music on in the gym, just as a way to block outside music that can get me hyped lol

it’s hard to not let hell break loose with all the bs happening around but yes….it’s absolutely crucial to let your cns recover. Constantly do caffeine and hard hitting music breaks, otherwise it fucking destroys me

when I'm stressed out at work I can actually feel my lower back getting stiff and hurt so managing stress if possible is HUGE

Wow, great video about mind / body connection. I’ve been dealing with much stress lately that nothing helped from meditation then I noticed I was having too many occasions for one or two drinks. Yet advice from a friend to be more in the word and read the Bible started giving me more peace and tranquility. Stress and anxiety or even as you put it the hype with adrenaline rush can negatively affect you. It’s definitely another aspect to work on that will directly impact and affect your training. Thanks.

There is someone i follow. Cultstrength. He is always superhyped lol.. even for his Warm ups. Seems to work for him. 🤷‍♂️ and he is a 900 lbs squatter and deadlifter. He says the opposite. You should treat 135 as your max Load. Whats your opinion on that
