    Every 320 cockpit video I've seen, Plane sounds like a real Rattle trap it goes down the Runway. I have never been comfortable riding in the 319/320, though none that I have been on have crashed, I did fly on the Gimili Glider in 91, I felt that that plane had had its Bout of Misfortune and based on the Laws of Probability would be fine

    Yeah, their Heavy jets(340,330,350) don’t know about the 380, shake rattle and roll BIG time also. I was in a Virgin 340( I know it was old, but still) last year leaving Heathrow for JFK , I thought the overheads bins and side walls were going to break away , rolling over the centerline lights bumps not withstanding , as we were rolling before we rotated.

    How much is "real" flying by the pilots and how much is Auto-Pilot ?

  • @justplanes

    @justplanes

    4 жыл бұрын

    Mostly auto-pilot these days.. the actual takeoff and most landings are done by the pilots and some will hand fly for a longer period of time while others will engage/disengage the autopilot right after takeoff or just before landing...

  • @nikobelic4251

    @nikobelic4251

    7 ай бұрын

    All flying is “real flying” B-17s had autopilots and Instrument landing systems were a thing since the end of WWII. Some rudimentary automatic landings were tested back then, and it became available to the civilian world in the 1960s… Airplanes have been flown using autopilots for most of aviation. I don’t see why all of a sudden it’s not considered “real flying” unless you are flying a plane like you did before the 1930s… Autopilot is and always has been a tool for pilots. I don’t know of many other professions that are frowned upon for the people doing their jobs using a computer to reduce their workload a bit…

    Go fly a jet then try to hand fly a busy departure or arrival, or hand fly 10H in cruise… A good pilot uses the tools at their disposal appropriately to maximize the safety of flight, they don’t hand-fly (something that is literally the most basic flying skill) when it’s not appropriate to prove… some point.
