If suspenders were good enough for John Wayne it's good enough for me
Partner I'm with you 100% when I moved to the free state of Arizona two years ago I wanted to carry a 1911 as well old school veteran here. I struggled with a shoulder holster that works Nice in the wintertime with a jacket however I finally ended up with your setup up and what you have works well too as long as I can conceal properly and not print to much . Yes definitely subscribe thumbs up thank you.
Pete, I EDC a Beretta 92FS . I have for about 20 years. Many people knock it's size for concealed carry but, hey, it's the one that works for me. This is a great idea that I'll put to use as I am also sick of hiking up my jeans because of recent weight gain (I'm 6'2" 270lbs). Thanks!
Been wearing them for years for that same reason. Suspenders and a belt......always good to have a backup!
Suspenders work just like a belt. The hold shit up and plus they never go out of style. Especially the really nice ones. Great vid man.
Old school and so simple. Good job Pete!
Bought an R1 Enhanced yesterday and a set of suspenders today. Wearing em both now... Can't believe how comfortable I am. Haven't tugged on my pants once! Thanks Pete
Pete, I just started using this same system like 3 weeks ago, and it works perfect, glad to know am not the only one that does this..lol keep up the good work I have been a subscriber since the start of your channel thanks for all the cool vids!!
Perry's suspenders of which I have a pair, work great. They hook on your belt and really support what every you have on your belt. Good video.
Great idea,I carry a sig p229 in 40S&W and its heavy but I don't want to compromise by carrying a smaller gun for comfort,I use a crossbreed holster which I love but I do find myself adjusting my jeans from time to time,I will definitely try this, good tip Thanks.
The opposite of a twink is no longer a bear, it is now a twinkie. Thank you for this joke sir
Man you gotta love Pete!! It's alternative Pete, but we all know what you were trying to say. I like the set up. I'm 6'6" and I have a little belly to that I'm working on getting rid of at the gym, but because I'm a big guy I like carrying bigger guns because my hands are XL, and my problem is that I don't have a big butt that sticks out to help hold my pants up so I know what you mean. I'm gonna have to try this. Great job Pete
Nice holster. I like how high it carries the gun. That's an awesome Gladiator helmet in the background too.
Works great! LEO's have been doin this for years in these parts. Your one shoulder wear got me thinking, back in the 80's I bought a rig called a guitar strap suspender, trying to be cool and hip of course. It used a single strap on one shoulder and resembled a guitar strap, wonder if I still have that. Hmmm maybe even mod a guitar strap. Great video!
Pete I tried the double in front and single strap down the back suspenders and they worked great!
thx 4 representin' 4 us "old guys," Pete! suspenders r an old (but effective) way 2 support CCW carry. i lost 35lbs & have the hardest time w/my CCW, but now have an option that works. thx Pete & keep up ur gr8 work on YT, brother!
Look sharp be sharp, there cool and they work even better. Good luck on the job.
Been doin' it that way for awhile now Pete. Blackhawk makes some great shirts for concealed carry that work VERY well in the summer. The only downside is sometimes the clip type suspenders pop open. But you can get these things called "perry clip" suspenders that attach to the belt. Go look at suspenderstore dotcom.
Tried the suspenders today while I was carriying my Baby Eagle, I mean my Jericho, like that name better. It worked great, never had to hike my pants up once. The Jericho is chambered in 45Acp. with 10 plus one so it's heavy. Never had to worry about the pants falling down. Love the channel lots of good tips carry on.
Suspenders work, but bib overalls are the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. No kidding.
I have used them for years on my tool belt always liked them !
I'm one of the small guys with a 32 inch waist and no belly....hell, I have to load up my pockets with rocks to get to 150lbs, but!!! I Digress!!! I still wear my three point suspenders when toting a sidearm on my waist. The weight does wear on the old hip bones when there's no meat protecting them! Thanks for sharing my Friend! Keep on keepin on!
Going to go with some myself. Great tip.
6 months ago, I bought heavy duty (2 inch wide) suspenders from an on-line suspender store. Instead of metal clasps on the end like yours, mine have a nylon "U shaped" end which hooks underneath the belt for support. The suspenders are a "Y shaped" rig, with one strap down the back, hooking on the middle of the belt in the back and one strap going over each shoulder and hooking underneath each side of my belt in front. I carry my SR1911 comfortably all day using a Crossbreed IWB holster.
Dude, love that P11A1. I have the original P228, and its my baby! Carried the P11 in the Navy too, so it has sentimental value.
ahhhh been following this channel for years now dont comment much but i love this suspender idea. been needing a way to carry my heavier guns
I love suspender. I used a brand called Perry suspender. It’s on Amazon. Bit expensive but made in the USA and very well build. The clip goes underneath your belt instead of clipping on your pant. Been wearing them for about 8 years now. Even with a gun belt like kore or blue alpha. It still sag on one side and don’t feel good. Had to pull my pant up or slide the gun side up every now and then. The suspender solve all problems. I hardly feel my iwb gun on me.
That's a killer idea! I'm a lil tubby and have the same problem. I'll try this for sure! Good luck with your diet man, I gave up sodas, cheeseburgers and fried foods. I'm cranky as hell but have lost some pounds. Love your videos Pete.
I've been carrying heavy pistols for 15+ years and the thought of wearing suspenders never crossed my mind. Now I feel great with the big gun on.THANK YOU !!!
For a few bucks more you can get them with plastic hooks that slip over the belt and don't have to worry about the cheap clip coming off the pants
Besides the clip on type and the Button type that James suggested, they have the bridal clip that hooks to your belt loop, which i like best. That way they don't come loose short of ripping off the belt loop.
I used to be an electrician-- 25lbs of tools on my belt all day long. I finally discovered suspenders. Great solution. Screw the looks. They work.
Looks like a good idea, and I'm going to give it a try. I gotta' say, I like your channel. I'm in lockstep with you on a number of the guns you show. But one of the main reasons I keep coming back to your channel, aside from me being a gun nut also, is you make me laugh, and quite frequently too. Some of the things you come up with causes me to bust a gut sometimes. Don't change a thing in your presentations. Some of your past shit is priceless !
dude they work excellent now i can carry any gun i want
Hey Pete go with what works don't worry about what people think.Great video man.
Yea I have that white boy flat butt problem too. Found suspender solution years ago. Also like a old Bianchi X15 shoulder rig in the cooler months when have a jacket.
Excellent idea
I've experimented with this as well. I like the Perry suspenders that attach to the belt because they hold the belt up. I like the ones that only attach at the sides (trucker suspenders). I wish I'd have thought of suspenders 20 years ago. tired of my pants dragging down
it all works together plus i need the blt for the holster
Hey pete I'm 25 and generally in shape, been wearing suspenders and my 1911 for 3 years. It works GREAT!!
suspenders and belt has always worked for me when carrying my heavy tool belt, makes scene to use them for big guns. Good shooting
Suspenders are excellent. I just got a new pair last week. And I also would like to recommend two things, the new (new to me) side clip suspenders, less noticeable easier to hook up, and the ones mentioned by greenjeans63, the type that grabs the belt. Take a look on Amazon and Ebay. About $13 +/-. IF you find yourself constantly messing with pants adjustment, GRAB SOME SUSPENDERS!!!
I've been doing the belt and suspenders for years as I carry a Ruger GP100 long barrel that's really heavy. The Duluth Trading "X" type heavy duty suspenders work great. Hardly know the gun and two speed loaders are there.
Seems legit. I like the practicality and simplicity of the solution.
Good move Pete. Looks like it will work great for conceal carry as well.
I’m honestly thinking about suspenders I’m 28. But I also suffer from Dunlap disease and noassatall disease so suspenders might be my go to. But I’ve also noticed that my old Kore essentials nylon belt did far better than my current one. Only had to get a new one cause the ratcheting system was broken.
Great vid. Now you look like an old school Italian hitman
Thanks for the tip!
i think it is a great idea the problem for me is i have to tuck my shirts in at work but on my days off i dress like a slob anyway so i may try this also i want that spartan helmet on your compressor lol thanks for the vid
good tip im def doing it nice vid dude
I've been kinda out of the loop. Glad you were able to get a job you might like. Gun shop ought to be pretty ideal for a guy like you. Best to you.
Hell ya I have mine in black and it works awsome even under my tac vest after a while you dont even notice
Great ideah Pete thanks for the video brotha.
What a great idea. Heading to a resale shop right now for some suspenders. I bet they will have some at a good price. Bringing back the suspenders.
This has been my preferred way to carry for years. The only difference is I wear my suspenders under my shirt so I don't have to tuck in my shirt. Works great.
Thank for that information
that is a great idea cant believe I never thought of it
would u sig b more comfy in a shoulder holster at work?
Good idea I carry a p229 everyday on my belt and even with a good belt and good holster I have to adjust occasionally (I'm a small framed guy with a little bit of a gut)
Cool tactical suspenders, Pete! Going to Walmart later today to get my suspenders in FDE or swat black. Thanks.
Great idea. Little old school, but i like it.
Yes, this was hilarious! I literally LOL'd!
I use to wear them myself, work great.
"..and they're gay and all.." made me laugh. hahaha.
Dude great idea!!!
Great idea. I see no issues Looks fine.
Congrats on the gun store job! Mork from Ork, he wore suspenders. Good idea with the overshirt.
never thought of suspenders. great idea Pete!
You should consider a nice and sturdy gunbelt, such as the Liger GunBelt. Or Ares Gear Ranger Belt. But I think the Liger would suit your style the most!
Like your style Pete. I'm old school too. I wear suspenders from time to time.
I've been wearing suspenders for years just for that reason. I discovered Perry brand suspenders. They have a plastic clip that just clips onto your belt. No more metal clasps tearing up my pants or coming loose.
my grandpa wears suspenders and he's a great guy! They look good on you Pete!
now why the hell didnt i think of that???.....thanks for the great idea man keep up the good work on them vids!!
belt and suspenders... the death of the shoulder holster
I just love it when a person has so little in the way of response, that they start calling someone else names! Immediately, I'm aware of the fact that they lack the ability to truly support their case. And I do have many friends in the military, and they are ready to remain committed to the oath they made to do what the "Commander-in Chief" tells them.No one is trying to take your gun away; paranoia gets you no where. As a professor, and school psychologist, my colleagues will NEVER carry a gun
Fuckin genius. My 1911 with 3 mags kills me. I weigh 155 pounds and cary almost 10 pounds of gun and ammo everywhere. U just saved my hips and belt so much stress.
i almost always wear bracers/suspenders just way more comfortable than belts
When I was in uniform years back I used velcro, I would have 4 pieces of 1x4 sewed equally inside the wast band of the pants,& the other 4 half's sewed on the shirt. This with a belt would keep pants up and shirt tucked in and in place. & for ties I would have snaps sewed in. After I tied them, I would cut it off in the back and have the snap sewed in so I could just snap it on and if someone were to pull it, it would snap off. This was when in plan clothes, I wasn't limited to clip-ons.
I have a Perry made Red Green suspender pair. Make sure it does not get in the way of the draw by keeping it close to the center of the body.
Hell, ya look alright that way. A shoulder holster supports the gun from the shoulders. Yer doing the same thing. Suspenders may be old school, but they still work...good vid, my friend.
"Built like a twinkie". Thats some funny shit. Good solution to a common problem.
"get on my knees" lol
It's like wearing army lbe system your absolutely correct
I've been doing this for about six months, and it works great.
25 years old. Recently discovered how badass suspenders are. Farming as a bigger guy, work of difference.
I prefer the Galco Miami Classic for heavy guns. Works great under the 5.11 conceal carry shirts.
Great idea.
When you get tired of haveing the suspenders pop loose when sitting down (even with the pin type), try the button suspenders. They work perfectly and never come loose. Carhartt is one source.
I like, looks cool!
For a few bucks or if you or a spouse has some sewing skill you can Taylor a shirt wit four slits to accommodate the clips. I when as far as to have attachment pont sewn into my pants lower on the inside to get a clean tuck. Some thoughtful use of Velcro and my uniform never was in disarray. Another tip for those who cannot afford a decent belt try a Walmart work belt rated at 200 Lbs if should support most handguns well for concealed carry.
Nice set up.
Great vid! What is your job you do?
Shoulder harnesses, and suspenders are great if you have no waist.
great idea, thanks
He probably got a job at a gun store. Perfect job for Pete!
Great grandpa wasn't an idiot...he knew what worked! Especially as you get older, and the gut gets bigger...suspenders are a workable way to hold up your drawers. Also, you can try a Galco shoulder rig? I have the Miami Classic for my Beretta 96, and a Jackass rig for my Glock. Both work quite well... ~
hey but hip carry is ideal but I have long arms and it seems that if you strap it on to your leg you can grab it quicker. or what do you recomend on that situation
Great Idea!
Great I like it!
Cool!
