Thank you for your lovely comments. HeavenScent was created in the moment, completely improvised and with no mixing, overdubbing or anything else. It was just the three of us listening deeply to one another and enjoying the process of creating this phenomenal music. It was pure magic.

Question. Obviously, recorded music is made of tracks put together. When you put this tape together, was everything recorded all at once or on separate tracks? Example would be the opening track "Daybreak" with the electric pianos and the vocalizations over it. Were the electric pianos recorded first and vocals improvised later?

  • @mjello3822

Second question. Can you confirm what everyone guessed in the comments: that it was a Yamaha DX7 that made the electric piano sound.

I played keyboards on the first piece only. It was Michael's keyboard and he is the primary keyboards player. I'll have to ask him if it was the DX7.

@@AuthorOneStop Impressive and beautiful. What inspired the titles of the pieces? It sounded to me listening to it like a journey through the timespan of a single day. I found the side one tracks to be lively and vibrant (day) and the side two tracks soft and haunting (night). And of course the first piece is called "Daybreak" and the final piece is called "Night Passage"

To me, this album is the sound equivalent of evenings in the summer during the golden hour when the trees are moving ever so slightly in a gentile breeze and casting dappled shadows and light that dance on the ground as the leaves flutter. Deep golden sunlight stretches across the earth illuminating every blade of grass with its yellow-orange light and casts deep blue-violet shadows. This album takes me to those favorite places during my youth when that magical hour made a lasting impact on me.

Hello Randy and Michael @michaelsloan8828 @AuthorOneStop. It’s a lovely recording. One doesn’t come across something as pretty and genuine as that often. I would love to know if the three of you recorded anything else that didn’t appear on the Heavenscent tape, including any outtakes. Was it a one-off collaboration, or is there anything else from you that I can hear? Thank you and good wishes.

Pure synesthesia: sounds which evoke the ever-sought scent - that of all flowers placed like feathers on the wings of imagination, this eagle that flies high back to heaven, the window which allows our eyes to see, or even better: the senses to sense.

Hi! The three of us who created this are Michael Dean Sloan, Debra Laforest, and I am Randy Peyser. Michael has a huge discography that you can easily find online. Debra became an expert in brainwave states related to sound. I play many instruments, but professionally, I help people get book deals with New York publishers. The three of us had never played together before HeavenScent. It was our one project together although we all remain friends.
