Mine went back to Luxman in December as it wouldn't stay on after the starting cycle, was less than 12 months old they still have it but thankfully the distributor lent me the demo model

Another great presentation, thank you, I use a restored vintage Luxman and it is an absolute joy. One day I might be able to upgrade to a modern Luxman especially like the L595, but I wonder how it would compare to the L509z now? All the best.

Was a McIntosh fan for many years but started having Firmware issues that required leaving the amp at my local dealer for 6-8 weeks. That wasn’t going to happen. So out with that and in came the Luxman 590axII, no firmware thankfully. All the reviews I read and watched were exactly my impression when I finally heard one for the first time. My dealer also sells Harbeth so I could audition the unit with what I currently have. The fit and finish is beautiful, sound quality is something I’ve never experienced, detail I’ve never heard before wether it’s vinyl, CD, or tape yet not the listening fatigue I use to experience with the McIntosh. Sure it’s an expensive piece but it’s the heart of the system so it makes sense to me. You’re right about the Phono Stage, amazing! Something you have to pay extra for on an Accuphase by the way. Certainly this is my forever intergraded. 😎

Great review . The additional features over the previous model are welcome but removing the REC connections and Monitor control was a huge disappointment particularly for an amp at this price point.

I’ve currently got the L-550AXii and think this has got to be my next amplifier. Pretty sure my speakers will benefit from the extra power.

You're going to like the 509z even more. I moved from a 509x to the 509z in the fall. I'm surprised your 509x customers didn't wait for the 509z. And yes I agree with what you get in tonality, sustain, decay, instrument separation, and soundsrage is undoubtedly impressive, from AC/DC to Sinatra to Freya Ridings and her licely voice and piano. The sustain of an electric guitar in rock like AC/DC or Guns N Roses is so natural and evident. Any one who owns this piece and has heard or played with a live electric guitar will immediately know how good Luxman's new Z line can recreate that sustain and power. Cheers from the 🇺🇲

Tone and balance controls are imperative for me. My hearing is off sided plus I need to often tone down the highs.

One cannot go wrong with luxman and accuphase. Also there are gems hidden in Japanese market based on class D

Try the old Luxman M-03 with a modern state of a art pre amp and dito dac.

Do luxman ship the unit to Ireland with a 3 pin powerkord.

Would liked to have seen it paired with speakers.

HI Gary, David C here... Lovely looking bit of kit, I have the 509X which Luxman themselves suggest still manages to stay ahead of the new 507z, but not quite at 509z level, which I guess is to be expected. I don't think my 509 is in any danger of going anywhere!

I see this product have issues with treble, at least for you. How much we have to throw thru window to have all instruments reproduced distinguishable ?

Of course it's well packed and very good built and sound quality.. What do you expect of €9500.- Ohh, yeah don't get me wrong i like the looks and quality of Luxman as well(but cannot afford it), but for that money(and less) there's so many to buy.. But maybe i'm wrong..

Hi Donald, both are good and we have had clients move from Accuphase to Luxman. They don't sound the same and its a case of trying both and finding what you like. The Accuphase equivalent amplifiers seem to be more expensive (in the UK anyway). Cheers, Mark :)

yes. very different though. accuphase seems to work with any speaker, while Luxman (tube amps anyway) are much more selective

Denon has been here a bit longer I believe.

While I haven't personally compared the Luxman L-507z with the Yamaha A-S3200, I did get a chance to experience the Yamaha A-S3200 last year when it was part-exchanged by a customer. It indeed had an impressive performance, but its price point sets it at a lower price banding, making it not necessarily a direct competitor to the Luxman L-507z. Hope this provides some perspective. At this level, the ‘band’ referred in the comment does not refer to audio performance, but to the price, which is manipulated by dealers.

@@mariocassar3117 Agreed. Luxman nowadays is aimed at a more premium tier than Yamaha so their prices will reflect that, but judging by the specs and the features, I think they are actually remarkably close and deciding between the two would ultimately come down to individual tastes.

I’ve had both. I upgraded from the Yamaha to the Luxman. They are in two different worlds. The Yamaha is great, but the Luxman is otherworldly compared to the Yamaha. Imagine going from a Subaru to a Porsche. Just a different class altogether.

DENON 114 YEARS

Class a and a-b amps are effectively rendered obsolete by the new class d innovations. I was just about to pull the trigger on this integrated until I listened to an Orchard Audio amplifier. I didn't care for the sterile sound of class d at all, but the transition from silicon to gallium nitride has changed the landscape. That dinosaur of a box that costs more than twice as much can't touch the power, agility, pecision, ease of use (interface), and features of a fully loaded Starkrimson Ultra 2.0 in combo with the Eversolo DMP-A8. The future is here and it overshadows Luxman.

I don’t know, I’m old school, I’m sticking with the traditional way of doing things. Changing out capacitors in 40 years is nothing new, what happens with these D amplifiers in 10-20 years, trash the entire unit, haven’t heard one I like yet so not a problem for me. 🤓

Do luxman ship this unit with a 3 pin power cord for ireland and is the cord any good.

Don't like the title of this video. Why write anything about "hell" if your intention is to praise a product to high heaven and not say anything at all about any potential shortcomings?.

Much better than any Hagel, Macintosh, because it's much lively bright yiu can pinpoint every instruments being played even the hissing and saliva intakes can be heard on Luxman, but yiu can't hear on Macintosh Hagel because these amplifier frequency is more on warm side. Just like moon and esoteric warm. Didn't like it . This and yamaha as3200 on same league.
