Personally, what I would have done is Crossrail from Terminals 2 & 3 to Ealing Broadway, District Line to Acton Town, then finally Piccadilly Line to Terminals 2 & 3

@Hugh Hillier true, though the standout features for me on the arm of the Piccadilly Line are the old signal box at Boston Manor and the in tact platforms of the former Osterly Park and Spring Grove station

@@HillierHugh speaking of which, when I did 2 weeks of Work Experience at my local Tube Station, Morden, part of my experience involved going to the then Northern and Victoria line control centre at Coberg Street, Euston. Obviously with the massive works going on in the area, plus the modernisation of both lines means that it's gone now, I wish I could have taken a picture or two for posterity, but it was a cool experience nonetheless, seeing where every train was located on the Northern line :)

@Hugh Hillier me and my Dad had an idea for another pointless journey on the Tube, lol. Hammersmith (District and Piccadilly) to Hammersmith (H&C and Circle). The route we came up with was District Line to Tower Hill, then Circle Line to Hammersmith. It certainly goes a pretty long way round

The quality of you’re videos are amazing, you deserve way more subscribers Nick.

I would have gotten the purple train to Ealing Broadway, then a District line to Acton Town, before finally getting the Piccadilly line's Heathrow branch from there!

A really fun way to do this could have been Heathrow to Faringdon, take the Barbican exit, got the Circle, Met or H&C back to Faringdon, Thameslink to Elephant and Castle and then Bakerloo back to Piccadilly Circus then back to Heathrow

Cool to see you at the refurbished bank station, I visited it in February and can agree that it is fabulous!

Dorking in Surrey is a small town with about 10,000 people and 3 train stations (2 on the same line). Dorking deepdene is a station which is on a bridge across the main road about 100m from Dorking main (on a different line) and you can see the stations from each other. Trainline suggested route tells you to walk between the 2 stations so it would be a perfect pointless journeys

what if you do Worcestor Foregate Street to Worcestor Foregate street? in case you didnt know, it has 2 platforms, but instead of the usual style of two tracks and one line, it is essentially two single-track lines next to each other lol, so you could do a journey from one platform to the other.

Love a good Pointless Journey! Sooo many ways this one could have been done. I’d have plumped for something like Elizabeth to Tottenham Court Road, Northern to Kentish Town, Thameslink to Wimbledon, National Rail to Richmond, District to Turnham Green, another to Acton Town, then Piccadilly from there. It all depends how long you want to take!

Here’s an idea for pointless journey… I done it back in 2020 before Covid. Travel around London using every tube line, each of the different overground lines, everyone of the DLR branches , most commuter train operators that serves London (Southern, Southeastern, Thameslink, C2C, SWR, GWR, GA, GN, SE High Speed, LNWR, Chiltern) the trams but only once. Not as easy as you think but super fun 😂

Brilliant pointless journeys video Nick, I still need to ride the Piccadilly line down to Heathrow at some point.

We were very careful when filming. I think nick had been told about it but ive had experience of it in the past. We also deliberately filmed outside in areas where there were no security guards

This technically is more of a wander than a pointless journey, you should’ve instead taken the Lizzie to Totthenam Court Road, change to the Northern Line and go to Lesticer square and change for the Picadilly back to Heathrow Central for Terminals 2 & 3

Idea you should do Richmond(underground-overground) to Richmond(national rail).

If you are in that area again you could try Windsor and Eton Central to Windsor and Eton Riverside. There's a couple of routes: one via London and one avoiding London.

Another fun one in London might be Dalston to Dalston in the East End - that is, Dalston Kingsland to Dalston Junction, which are on separate Overground lines. You could even ride the entire loop around the city, or do something wilder through the centre. Lots of interesting stuff to see. Or Hackney Downs to Hackney Central via the Lea Valley, the Eurostar depots, the Olympic park and the Wick. Or maybe Stratford to Stratford International. Stratford is complex, with everything from mainline to DLR trains - and you'd reach International using the High-Speed from St Pancras. There must be endless possibilities for these in the vast London network!

I have to say that the Elizabeth Line is more efficient and can handle more passengers especially during rush hour. I have been on the Elizabeth Line many times and I do like the seats on the Class 345.

If you're adding guests to the pointless journeys series, then I think it would be cool to do a pointless journey with JenOnTheMove, but in the style of one of her races where you both take separate routes to get from the high level to low level platforms (or vice versa) and see who can make the pointless journey the fastest!

Nick, you failed to include the iconic "MIND THE GAP" at Bank. I used to commute to school via this station, and change to Northern Line using the old spiral staircase .. when there was just the one staircase for both up and down passengers - much more fun than a travelator!

Easily done. Leeds to York via Harrogate, the back via Garforth. For a harder West Yorks based pointless journey, try Pontefract Monkhill to Pontefract Baghill. I am planning on doing this one soon.

Here is an idea: Liverpool Central (Wirral or northern line first you choose), to Liverpool Central (Wirral or northern line you choose)

you should do bedford to bedford st johns! bedford to kettering, kettering to leicester, leicester to nuneaton, nuneaton to coventry, coventry to bletchley, bletchley to bedford st johns. :) i should point out that bedford st johns is like 2 minutes away from bedford main.

3 pointless journeys I can think of 1. Gainsborough lea Rd to Gainsborough Central 2. Bradford Foster Square to Bradford interchange 3. Meadowhall platform 1and 2 to Meadowhall platform 3 and 4 but u can not use Sheffield Station

Now try Manchester Piccadilly P1-12 (main shed) to Manchester Piccadilly P13-14 (through platforms) using the most interesting route you could do (not just going to Stockport or the Airport then straight back, cos wheres the fun in that?)

Do st Pancras to kings cross. And waterloo to waterloo east

Well we can't really say. We didn't tap out but Nick was on a Zone 1-6 travelcard and I was on a 16+ card. so we couldn't get an accurate fare
