Lyrics
I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
Still so many answers I don't know (there are so many answers)
Realize that to question is how we grow (to question is to we grow)
So I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I'm on my way
Can't stop me now
You can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
Yeah, we need a change, yeah
Do it today, yeah
I can feel my spirit rising
Change, yeah, we need a change, yeah
So do it today, yeah
'Cause I can see a clear horizon
What have you done today to make you feel proud? (make you feel proud, lemme hear ya, lemme hear ya)
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?
'Cause you could be so many people
Just make that break for freedom
So what have you done today to make you feel proud?

My 22 year old daughter set up a soup kitchen for the homeless 4 months ago, started with a dozen visitors and a handful of volunteers now it's full to capacity and the generosity of volunteers is overwhelming. She even offers support and advice and helps to rehome the vulnerable. She makes me proud! ❤ ❤ ❤

Queer As Folk introduced me to this song. In 2013, I began a spiritual cleansing. This played every morning before dawn on my way to the gym. It's been a rough past few years. I was listening to another song from the past and this came up as a suggestion. Thank you UNIVERSE for Heather Smalls, her beautiful voice and the inspiration this song is to me and so many others. ❤️❤️ 11/12/22

Such a good song really cheers you up and makes you realise that we all our just as important as each other in this world and we all do amazing things! No wonder this song inspires Miranda and Stevie
I can't help but think or reminisce of Biggest Loser where they used this song as the Theme Song. Never made sense back then because I was so young, but years later into growth I get that this entire message, this whole song is POWERFUL! I will commit to playing and singing this to myself every single time to remind myself IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO TRY👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Probably my favourite song. So uplifting and Heather's voice is unlike anyone I've heard before. The instrumentals are great on this track also. So iconic!

I LOVE M People but not sure how Heather Small as a solo artist slipped by me.... so glad to find this today.... inspiring!
I cry when I hear this. Did my first triathlon and my PT put video and pictures to it. All the work put into getting there and finishing.
When it says 'What have you done today to feel proud?', I intercept the quote as that there is a achievement that has been fulfilled in each one of us. And not just about winning an award, coming first in a race solely, it's also the mistakes we make that we reflect on and will always aim for the best. This song was also written towards the Olympians who has every right to be virtuous in oneself for they pushed themselves over their limits in whichever sport they've done. If there's anything I would take away from this song, it will be self-acceptance, pride, perseverance, and like always, THINKING POSITIVE! Thank you, Heather Small
2000 Music brought me here. It's true. Year 2000 was another great year for phenomenal musicians, artists, groups, boy band, girl band, hip hop, dance, I mean EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! Now I can play it on my playlist everyday while jogging! Wanna see good result of shaping back my body. Thank you Heather Small!!!!

TEARS FOR THE DRIEST EYES 🙌
This was my high school anthem, was played when we left, ‘what have you done today to make you feel proud’ was above the exit door! And yesterday it played on the radio on my way to my university graduation, oh how emotional I was! I haven’t heard this song in 10 years! 🥹🥹
So thankful for the OG American "Queer As Folk" for introducing me to this masterpiece.
Stevie: What have you done today to make your feel proud 😂
very very uplifting.one that never fails to make me feel positive
Dear Heather, singing this song you have achieved it's aims. You, girl are a megga star. Please keep singing for us. Love you always.
This is such a nostalgic song for me, I remember hearing it years ago many times and I’m so surprised how unpopular it is. Only 1.6 million views, this deserves to be in the hundreds of millions

This song is such a banger, a real uplifting song with powerful lyrics, and what a gorgeous singing voice Ms. Small has. Her vocal quality reminds me a bit of Toni Braxton (a true alto sound) but with a bit more edge. Love it.
