AWW, IM GLAD YOU THINK SO!! I *love* lams honestly! But its not unnecessarily unrequited! Quite honestly, Alex admitted he felt like a jealous lover in one of his letters because Lauren's would hardly reply, due to being captured by the British many times. Alex's last letter to him, too, was him pleading for him to come back and 'put his sword away' to stay with him again. Unlike the rest of his letters, too, he wrote "Yrs for ever, A Hamilton" and this would actually be written shortly after Laurens dies, to which Laurens never replied, so it's unknown if he saw it. Laurens was depicted upset here, though, because he expected Alex to be satisfied with him and him alone, but much to his dismay, he clearly wasn't as he soon married etc- He was very unsure how to even feel about Alex _still_ trying to love on him too despite being married. Iiiif any of that makes sense anyway- ;w;

@@Animalruberbands basically, in real history, Hamilton was more of the jealous lover rather than Laurens. Pretty sure Laurens told Hamilton to find a wife to erase Hamilton's affections towards him. It didn't work.

This is even sadder when you remember that this wasn’t just a fanfiction, that John probably did love Alex. For example, John was actually depressed and suicidal, and he went into every battle willing to die. The on battle he wanted to survive, he was killed. Now thanks to this I’m crying a river

Ye Hamilton was bi and Laurens was gay. They did have a relationship but I’m assuming it wasn’t legal for them to marry. Definitely wasn’t just a fanfic. Just read their letters if you don’t believe me.

Alexander's eyes seemed to be focused on something else now. He didn't mean it, but he just wanted Alexander to be his.. he wanted a happy ever after. Soon Alexander and Eliza got married. John didn't show up for the wedding, instead he went to war. John gripped on the reigns on his horse and he rode to the front of the battle. But once he reached the front, him and his horse got shot. His horse kicked him off as it cried in agony. John fell against the grass harshly, he was trying to catch his breath. His eyes felt heavy. He knew he was dying. Tears formed in his eyes, all he could think about was Alexander. “..why would you very kiss me?.. I'm not even half as pretty.. you gave her your sweater. It's just polyester, but you like her better. Wish I were..” John closed his eyes. He wasn't in pain anymore. Alexander on the other hand was damaged when he found out about John's death. He went to his house to collect items and found John's journal. He picked it up and read it, feeling his heart sink as he did. Tears fell down his cheeks, as he held the book close and whispered, _"I wish you were my lover..”_
