The proper method for hose removal. Thank you for demonstrating the proper way to perform this. Saw others that were cutting, breaking them off etc. obviously they are not mechanics. Thanks again.

As far as I could find, you are the only one who posted for the 14-18 gm trucks for the heater hoses. This definitely helped.

Well done video. Short, sweet, and to the point. Thanks. I broke the white one while changing my fuel injectors.

This is my first time commenting on KZread. Your video inspired me to write my big thanks to you. Usually I select thumbs up if a video is good or helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to film and post this. It was a big help for me to successfully remove the heater hoses from a 2015 Silverado. I first tried with another tool with no success and was ready to give up. I watched your video on how to do it and bought the same tools you showed at NAPA. You saying to use the 7/8 (white one) was a life saver, as well as your instruction to twist it as you worked it. I FINNALY got them off. I being a rookie with these type of heater core connectors it was difficult. But now in the future with the muscle memory of my recent experience it should not be too bad. I don't know how you were able to do it one-handed other than experience, I was impressed. Two suggestions to help others find this post; , if you can, edit your title to include the years Silverado or GMC that this technique will work on, and say it is for disconnecting heater hoses. I could not find any post for 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado's for how to do this when searching until I found your video by chance. Thanks again!

put the removal tool behind the fitting, make sure its where it's supposed to be and pull so hard you get dizzy and see stars

I can’t seem to find a part number for the black connector. Do you happen to have one? By the way, great video 🙏🏼

I was able to pull the Heater hose straight back without the quick disconnect tool. Is that a problem ? 2017 duramax L5P

Great video but I need to know how to put a new fitting on to the metal part that's attached to the truck.

I replaced the black one and I still see white smoke coming out but I don't know if it's the white connection that also needs replacement

@@showmemechanics I had fix the problem and that problem was I didn't have it tighten. It was kinda loose... I was thinking it was coming from the white connection but that was fine. Took my truck for a test drive and notice the gage didn't go past 210

Why did you say they are two different sizes..... As far as I know they are the same size.

Yes, when you're looking at the vehicle, the one on the left or the black one is bigger than the white one, the one on the right.

Do yourself a favor and do away with these quick release fittings altogether. There is no benefit to having them on your vehicle, they will only wear out later. Install standard T's and or clamp hoses directly without quick release fittings.
