Heat transfer prnting - Foiling on fabric - the basics

This video introduces you to another heat transfer technique, this time using textile foils.
It shows two basic example of how the foils can be applied to fabric. Any fabric can be used as this is a technique which applies a new layer on top of the fibres, not into them like dyeing.
Materials used in this video:
Textile Foil (also known as Heat Transfer Foil): Sourced from Applicraft.
Foil Adhesive Glue: Sourced from Quality Colours.
(can also be purchased from Applicraft)
Bondaweb (also known as Transfer Adhesive): Sourced from Sourced from Whayleys Bradford (currently not in operation during the quarantine).
(can also be purchased from Empress Mills)

Some brands of foils clearly state they are washable and permanent on fabrics. You need to be careful and cold wash and hand wash and never dry in a dryer. So I believe the Glimmer foils are said to be permanent and washable bonded to fabrics. Again the adhesives you use might alter that to a degree too. Read the labels of both the foils and adhesives you choose to be sure. Products often vary and of course how you care for them afterwards is also key to long term success. Thanks J Hayward for this video. I did have to mute it as the sound was too harsh as I have meneires and can't tolerate those kinds of sound. I would prefer a muted video or soundless one without music etc. if you choose not to speak. A lot of people feel that way or a toned down beat for sure more soft in the background than foreground. But really lovely tutorial all the way around.

I completely aggree with the comment made by Ias inMT regarding the washing. Ias inMT - thank you for your comments about the background music. You make a really valid point about the harshness. I will certainly consider that when creating anymore videos for the future
