I am a Mechanical Inspector in the South and we stay very busy with the contractors today. The good ones will always be the good ones, but the bad ones are a mess.
Great video! More video's on air flow and BTU's. I agree most people don't do this.

Dooooood. Lots of Love here from Texas. From one contractor to another. They don't make us like they used to. Cut from a different cloth and placed here by the good almighty himself to ensure it'll all get passed forward. Good to know there's still some of us good ones still around with all the stuff I've seen over the years. Stay blessed my Hvacr brother from another mother! 🙏 🤠

😳 ok that’s pathetic how someone doesn’t see and know these things. Especially the sizing and the over flow pan situation. This is what happens when you don’t do things right. Nice finds!
I had a similar experience with a 14yr old ac last summer. By taking the time to actually clean the condenser,assess the ductwork, then charge accordingly, I was able to get the most out of the existing system. The lady sad that this was the first time she was actually able to keep her house cool w/o freezing the system. The biggest issue was that they previous techs never looked at the fan speed. I would assume this is where the difference between me and them was. They were mainly an install company versus me coming from a service company. We dealt with these situations alot. By taking the time to actually do what I was there to do,I came away as a hero and she was a very happy lady!

Very good and informative video. I do want to see a balance point video for sure. A couple of questions. Where could I get the form you were using to calculate temp rise,etc? Also, If one return is pulling more than the other, what are the fixes for that without compromising airflow? Once again, very good value to techs trying to do it right?
Can’t wait to see the balance point video !!! Great video!!! Just started in the trade and seeing you in action tells me have a long ride to run !!! Congrats!!!
Too bad most Techs don't go through the commisioning process thoroughly....most of the time, not at all. Retired GC here. Good job man.

Is it .05 for RA and .1 for SA on the Ductulator?
you have .50 TESP .normally size at .1 supply .1 return .you sized your 6 inch at .1 and your trunk check at .05. thats to low look at the velocity at .05 .overall good info should always run a load calc even if its a quick cheater block load .if you look at that blower chart the coil is internal so you have no friction loss due to evaporator .only thing you have it supply and return and air devices .also the frickin RA grill is on the plenum in the basement .that being said whoever did this screwed it up bigtime. you also have no static on the return side .Fiiter grille ONLY 2 cfm a SQ IN 16x16x2=512cfm or 1.5 ton .your right how did it last that long ?
Hey I’m just getting out of school and we were taught .01 for friction. Why do you choose .05? I watch all your videos so I’m curious to know. Am I Ben given the wrong information?
Was your cal sheet in the manual or you didn’t an loaded

is goodman heat pump GSZB404210A good for 2014 mobile home? in amarillo texas , r19 walls, r25 roof, r 30 floor, singal pan widows, 1216 sqft home. not air tight it has leaks. temps below 20 is like 8 days during heating seanson. i set termostat to 74 f and am using electric furnace 10 kwh for 108 hours a month. my electric rate is 0.097 kwh. the highest bill to have was 250 but that is from whole home usage. the goodman heat pump says it uses 2.9 kwh at 10 f with a COP of 2.08 and a 2.7 kwh with COP of 1.34 at -5 f. the price for the 5 ton a-coil and 3.5 heat pump is $4,876. i can get 30% off that price on rebate then it whould be $3,413.235 also, why whould tech go with mortex 5 ton a-coil and 3.5 heat pump. thanks for help.
Hi II was wondering if you could help me and tell me what would cause a mini split do this? The temperature is set to 70, the bedroom door is closed and the temperature changes to 19, it blinks to 19 and then it shuts off and after it’s been off for a few minutes and it turns back on

Hi Tad I really enjoy your content. Question for you on a job of installing AC in a newer built Mobile Home- 22 x 65 ( North side along a long side) Newer constructed with R-40 in attic, R-20 walls, R-24 Floor and Double pane windows. Did a Manual J and total cooling load is 14,000 BTUH. Approx 13000 sensible 1000 latent. We have very low wb in my region of Canada. House is 1622 sq ft but it appears a 2 ton will handle it?? Going 2.5 ton would be grossly oversized. Your thoughts please. Thank you for your content and response

@PaulHVAC1
Жыл бұрын
@@TaddyDigest Hi Tad This is a split system. New Nordyne gas furnace. As you probably know the ductwork built in the floors of MH is usually quite small (14 x 5) and of course all the RA is drawn through the filter panel on the furnace. There is 12 floor registers. Manual J tells me a 2 ton will easily cover the 14000 BTUH but just concerned with 1622 square ft of area. But moving up to a 2.5 ton would put this way oversized. Our design condition in this area is quite low 82ºf OD and 70ºf indoor. We are a dry region not a lot of RH.

@@TaddyDigest Yeah it’s questionable. I found that when I’ve installed 2 stage I seem to have issues on the heating side. Mostly with older customers etc. I’m just thinking In terms that’ll run 2 nd stage just for a while and then cruise in first stage mostly. You’re right about the duct work for sure, with the new blower motors it sorta lets us get away with under sized duct……sorta!
