I've been watching WoW lore videos for awhile now, and in my opinion you have the best lore videos that I've ever seen. Keep it up!

Great series! Even though i never played WoW in my life, I have fell in love with its lore. I have watched all your videos and you better be sure ill watch all future ones as well. Would you consider doing an apisode on the Lorewalker Cho legendary next?

Great video as always! Just don't forget to use the card annotations as you used to do when talking about them (such as amani beserker and ogre magi)! :)

LuiError Thanks, I'll keep an eye out! I used the ogre mage art as those were the ones from warcraft 2, when they were created but I definitely should have used the Armani beserker at least once, good call!

Small correction: It is actually unknown if the Titans left the Well of Eternity on Azeroth or if it was just sort of.. there when they came to reshape it

Well all sources are sort of.. blunt on it, it's only said that the titans defeated the old gods and then just sort of mention the well of eternity, not specifying whether or not it was left by them or if it was just there, also i just found a theory that the well is the blood of a titan that is rumored to die during the war against the old gods "The WarCraft III manual, and other sources, imply that the Titans carefully placed the Well, but the War of the Ancients Trilogy implies that the Old Gods were able to harness it (all of the World Tree's power came from the Aspects), so we can't be sure." McGliga Wasn't it one of the Prisons for the Old Gods though? I seem to recall that the Well of Eternity is just a prison to hold one of the Old Gods and that the High Elves basically sapped the magic from it, which is why they were so easy to communicate to by it and corrupt them by turning them into Naga :/

Very interesting video, there is so much warcraft lore that I have forgotten over the years.

Daniel Ström Glad you enjoyed. Same here. I always research to make sure I get as many facts straight as I can (of course I make a mistake every now and then). It's always really fun when you recover that bit of lore that hid itself away in your memory.

I have a correction the elves actually became immortal after they deafeted the Legion in the first war and the tree Nordrassil was planted on Mount Hyjal .

Molnar Radu yup you're definitely right, me getting a few facts muddled there, will annotate that!

Point of information: while the Outer Kingdom of Quel'Thalas was devastated during the Second War incursion, the Inner Kingdom was in no real danger due to the High Elves' impenetrable defense shield, the Ban'dinoriel. Unlike the arcane magic cloaking field generated by the monolithic Runestones, Ban'dinoriel was powered by the Sunwell itself and channeled via the three Mooncrystals, or by Elven magi as needed. The only reason Quel'Thalas fell during the Third War was due to betrayal, Dar'Khan Drathir was seduced by Arthas and used to sabotage the shield from within. Additionally, I think too much is made about the High Elves' reluctance to join the Alliance (IMHO a fan retcon in an attempt to justify the Blood Elves' joining the Horde by implying the High Elves "weren't really part of the Old Alliance"). While they might have taken more convincing, once they were in they were in...not only with the commitment of their army, priests, and mages, but their navy made up the greater bulk of the Alliance fleet. It was only after the Alliance victory that ended the Second War did High King Anasterian and the Silvermoon Convocation decide to go back to their traditional isolationist policies, mostly because they believed the crisis was over and greatly desired to return to their old hermitage way of life and less because of their complaints towards the Alliance for having failed to properly defend their borderlands.

I, for one, hope to see more Alleria in WoW eventually. I'm surprised none of the other human survivors of the BtDP expansion even so much as mentioned her during BC. :( Oh well, can hope. Can hope. I really like the High-Elves myself. I played Blood Elves primarily once BC came out, since they were as close as I could get to them. Rangers were some of my favorite units in BtDP, easily capable of inflicting so much damage. I even remember using Alleria to take out a few ships on her own, since I didn't have other ranged units. XD

Cloudski Alleria's range in WCII is pretty insane! Yeah is a little odd they don't mention her. I used to main Blood elf as I played mage and felt it fit the best. In recent times I've swapped more to Troll and Goblin.

Six Gamers I eventually did a Goblin Shaman to test the class out, while I began leveling a Tauren Paladin to scratch my tanking itch. However my mains were still my BE Rogue and Priest.... I had a BE Hunter I started as well. I got to 80 and starting Icecrown Citadel in the short time between the big patch for Cata, but before it was released.

Yeah, I sadly missed ICC due to university commitments (I say sadly I went to the US to study and had a blast :P). But I've never really got back on the raiding horse since, did a touch of heroic Dragon Soul but that was about it. :(

Six Gamers Regular 10-man ICC was pretty much my last raid I took. The guild kinda fell apart since. I played through most of Cata, but would be gear locked out of the LFR due to the Valor Mark weekly limit, and being in that odd point of: "I am WELL over geared for Heroics now, they are cake walk. I am literally only half paying attention as the healer, and doing some DPS just to get through it quicker.... Yet I cannot get enough gear to enter the LFR system without the latest Valor level gear, which is limited to so many marks a week. Fuck it, too boring." Eventually I just stopped right before MoP came about. :/

Great video! I'm currently going down your Lore of the Cards playlist. One thing though, the playlist is ordered from the newest video to the oldest, it's a bit awkward. Currently there are videos at the start and end of the playlist I haven't watched yet since you added new videos to the top. Might be a good idea to reverse it so the beginning of the playlist is the oldest video, and you can just add new videos to the end of the playlist.

+Andy Ni They main reason I've done this are the old videos sound quality aren't that great since it's before I had a descent mic. IT's to put my best foot forward rather than leave a bad taste in the mouth... I might when I have time make sure to order the part ones correctly.... Though the youtube playlist system is rubbish for doing that :(. TLDR: Duly noted :D

there is something i dont understand: the change from dark trolls to night elfs and then the change to high elfs, seems so fast, is the world of azeroth such a fast changing world or did this all just take much more time in between there not so much happened?

yourtime Yeah the video trivialises it a bit. It's not so much nothing happened, for instance during this time the Night elves formed their religion based round the worship of Elune that is still practiced today. It's more that going into that would have been to far a deviation from Alleria's story, I was just trying to keep the video a bit tighter. :) The evolutions were not instant, they occurred over hundreds to thousands of years.

Though in fairness the Alliance did pretty much leave them to die and then sentenced them to execution when they found out Kael had turned to the naga out of desperation. It was the humans that betrayed the elves imo. Both aren't exactly great allies for the elves though the orcs have the demon blood excuse :P

Well with that reasoning you could say " that was the horde under Doomhammer, not the reformed horde under Thrall". Garithos was trusted with a senior position by the Alliance and none of the soldiers etc under his command stood up for Kael and the Blood elves. No matter how you slice it both horde and Alliance have been cruel to the high elven race. Aren't there more blood elves than high? Since they have a whole capitol and High elves reside in other races' capitols. Kael was still originally a High elf, just many changed their name to Blood elves.

That doesn't matter! Once Horde always the same Horde no matter what! The Alliance were there when the elves needed them the most. The only reason they weren't when the invasion happened is because those soon to be called Blood Elves left the Alliance after the second war, and so they couldn't know about the invasion of the Scourge. And those Night Elf spies were never really confirmed to be a threat to the blood elves. They were spying on them maybe because they were afraid that they were with some demons or with the burning Legion since they started using fel magic and also because the Forsaken who were part of the Horde were helping them and maybe they were afraid that they joined the horde. Garithos did betrayed those Blood elves who were with him but that wasn't the Alliance led by Varian. Garithos hated all the races except humans and some dwarves. But the only reason why they are with the Horde is because blizzard had to give the Horde a pretty race to make more players play them, but they did force very much the belfs in the horde to fit ( witch failed ). And if they were really cruel to the high elves why most true and original ones stood and are still staying with the Alliance to this day ??!!
