    God damn it, you've reeled me back into HS with this deck, Brian. I got a bunch of cards to catch up for missing the two last expansions and built this deck, and it's incredibly fun. I love how long it can go despite on-paper being very tempo-oriented.

    @@bmkibler The number of games that are won with Grimewalker + Quilter is silly. Any advice how to deal with mages though? I found that the deck is rarely fast enough to kill them before they can Sif combo. Not that it matters that much, the deck deals with literally everything else, so I can take that hit to an otherwise stunning win rate, but would appreciate advice.

    @@Arrakiz666 Be careful about overcommitting into their mech board clear. Try to always have the tempo, but also try to force them into using their mech on a relatively weak board, then go ham and hope they don't have the second mech. And keep track of how many spell schools they have played so you can know when it's safe to drop a bunch of stats. If you play too aggressively, you'll get board cleared and be in bad shape, but if you play too safely, they'll Sif you before you can kill them. You've got to strike a balance while also taking calculated risks.

    @@johnstahl3256 Thanks for the advice. I feel like it often comes down to just sheer luck of the draw against mages, but again, I can take that, given that I’ve cut a bloody swath with this deck on ladder the last couple of days. Well worth returning to the game. I’ll probably dip when then meta solves it and come back in a year again, that clearly is the best way to play this game.

    It’s gotta be said that it’s very strange to be living in an era of HS where a big taunt dropped on the board matters again and it may not be that easy to remove it (and its two identical brothers, usually).

    To anyone who’s played this deck, how important is Headless Horsemen in this build?

  • @Arrakiz666

    @Arrakiz666

    Ай бұрын

    Very important, unfortunately. He provides inevitability that’s very useful against grindy control decks. You could theoretically replace him with Helya, the idea is the same, but I don’t know that any non-legendary card would fill that role, sadly.

    @@Arrakiz666 I have Helya, I’m just unsure about investing in the Headless Horsemen. He feels like he has limited upside… but I could be totally wrong. Hero cards do tend to be OP and played a ton. I mean, I sure did craft Reno right when the set came out. Thanks, that’s helpful.

    @@leeartlee915 Well, I just won a game against a super greedy control priest that went 7 cards into fatigue thanks to the horseman, so take that as you will. I’d say Primus and Reska are far more optional than horseman.

    @@leeartlee915 I’d say just sub Helya for the horseman since you have that card. Like I said, same principle, a little less flexible because you don’t get the 3 damage ping that can also target minions, but it still serves the goal of inevitability against control decks.

    Don’t play out all your guys at once. They have a lot of board-wide clears, but struggle to destroy single enemies at a time efficiently. I played against one earlier, discovered a 3rd marionette and yodeled one of them. Having 13+ attack enemies every single turn, they couldn’t keep up
