Heartflower with a Gemstone
Today I show another idea for creating a Valentine’s Day themed tile using the pattern Heartflower, surrounded by the pattern Heartvine on the border. I will also show you how to add a simple red and pink gemstone in the center using only three colors: red, pink, and white.
Supplies you will need:
3.5” or 4” white tile
Micron pen 01 (black)
Graphite pencil
Tortillion or blending tool
Colored pencils (I used Prismacolor) in Red PC924, Pink PC929, and White PC938
Colorless blending pencil (optional) PC1077
GellyRoll #10 White
The patterns used are:
Heartflower (Margarete Gilge)
Heartvine, also called Leafvine (Lori Howe)

Thank you, Marilyn. ❤️🥰 I’m glad you enjoyed it.
You always say to make it our own…which gave me the freedom to try this one with the materials I had available instead of worrying about what I did not have at the time. I used micron pn red and pink and then used a prismacolor colorless blender on top with white gelly roll highlights. And not only did i do the gem in the middle…I did all the bigger hearts as heart shaped gemstones too. While not perfect, it made my personal heart happy. So thank you for the encouragement to try to make ourselves happy with what we have, Barbara.

I don't think all leaves are equally the same anyways. That is so pretty. Need to learn how to color gems. 💖😊 I can't never make none of my petals look the same. 😁 Never thought of adding those to petals. I like it. 😊

Beautiful, your lines are so smooth. Your outline is nice looking(I dare not at “perfect since we’re all recovering perfectionists!) the hearts on the vine look great!❤️

Hi Amanda. Welcome to Zentangle! I highly recommenced the "Zentangle Primer" by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, the founders of Zentangle. It tells you everything that you need to know and is very easy to follow. When I started Zentangle, I bought the book "One Zentangle a Day" and followed many of those lessons. There are many great KZread channels that I watched when I was learning. Most of all, please try to not compare your art to others who have been doing this for many years. I've practiced almost daily for over 4 years. You can contact me directly and I can try to help you more. My email is notperfectzen@gmail.com If you can explain where you are struggling, I am more than happy to help you.
