Mort was the guy you could always trust with his reporting. He will be missed.

Amen!~!! he will be truly missed!!! Thanks for all you did Mort!!!
Mort never blathered on unnecessarily like some do now days. He was always succinct, eloquent, and informative while coming off as "guy next door" trustworthy and friendly. When he spoke it was because he was doing his job and doing it way better than most. Prayers for his family and inner circle of friends, who I imagine is quite large.

You mean instead of turning sports news into some sensationalized reality show.

@@Colin_1977 I miss them. I miss watching ESPN.
I haven't watched the network for years. Mort's physical appearance left me stunned before his passing. His legendary reporting is unparalleled & unique unlike any other. He'll truly be missed.

Yes. I thought he was dying years ago. He was tough.
Rest easy Mort, your race is run. You will be missed.
The world lost a great man. Mort will forever be loved and missed
All the years I spent watching NFL Countdown and NFL Prime Time. Mort, Chris, Tommy, Coach Ditka, Jaws…they were all such a huge part of my life
Mort was old school integrity journalism, unlike many today whose egos demand that they score scoop points or practice clickbait journalism trying to get a cookie for breaking a story. Social media has ruined the type of journalistic integrity Mort always had. He will be dearly missed. 🙏🏼😥
He can really tell that Adam is very heartbroken.

Mort and the Professor John Clayton set the standard. Schefty learned from the best.
Chris and I both got drafted and met in the army at AIT in San Anton Texas in spring of 1973. My best memory was when five of us rode in a rented VW beetle to Houston Texas to see Cinn. play Houston. I met him in a small base PX sitting at a table with a bunch of guys and the song "Ventura Highway' played on the juke box and Chris stated that he drove on the road many times.
Probably the last real journalist/reporter in the game
I loved listening to Chris Mortensen. He was so insightful
Mort was a true classic act and will be sorely missed
Mort was like a blue collar worker working as a white collar worker. Basically a down to earth, approachable and gritty guy and everyone’s uncle 👊🏾🤟🏾🫶🏾🇺🇸🙌🏾
Mort was a legend and will be missed very dearly.
Schefter is pure class personified!! ALWAYS put Mortensen first
Thanks Mort…you were always someone we could count on. Rest easy kind sir. May your family and friends find peace.
I did not know Chris Mortensen died 😔. I always though "Mort" was very professional, had integrity, and seemed like such a nice guy.
He was so amazing ❤
I was worried initially that Adam Schefter would be replacing Chris Mortensen because I didn't trust ESPN to do the right thing. I'm glad in that case I was wrong. Wonderful words by Adam Schefter. We love you and miss you Mort. Thank You
I watched mort since I was like 10 years old reporting on nfl Sunday countdown on espn.

same bro mort was awesome
I had a couple nice discussions with Mort on Twitter right before the start of the World Cup of 2010. What I found interesting was his lineage. He was half Honduran/Danish. He was able to follow both countries when they played that year.
There is no Adam schefter without Chris mortenson.
I'm remember growing up getting ready for school always watching espn and looking forward to Mr. Mortensen's latest news on the nfl. He will be dearly missed!!!🕊🙏🏼❤️💔
Will never been another Chris mortensen
This is sad , I am late to the knowledge but I adored Mort on ESPN and condolences to his family and friends.

Mort was a great man 🙏🙏🙏
My condolences to all of Mort's family and friends.
Before social media. Before NFL Network there was Mort and John Clayton. John tended to stay in the Pacific Northwest. Mort covered the rest. Especially the Colts. Such a beautiful, trustworthy soul. May your family be comforted in knowing how many people he touched through television. God speed Mort. And thank you 🙏🏻
He and Daniel Jeremiah were close. DJ broke down on the air after the Combine when he found out Mort had passed. T Truly touching.
Prayers
Thank you Peyton 🙏💫
This guy was definetly not fake news.

I didn't even know he was sick
What ever happened to john Clayton?

John Clayton passed in March 2022 after a brief illness. He was spending a lot of time taking care of his own wife who was ill herself, but she's still alive today. No one even knew John was ill, he kept it private.

He looked rough the last few years on ESPN
Why does it look like Peytons right shoulder look smaller than his left? Anybody else notice that
Who in the world is Chris Mortensen?
Good video till it gets to Dan O and Mina lol. Cmon they don’t deserve to be in the same video
He's been sick for some time.
Mort was THE man who all others should be measured by when it comes to NFL reporting. Full Stop. Unfortunately, ESPN is now stuck with that slimy worm Shefter
Obviously out was comfortable in his own skin.
Oh my God why does it sound like she's laughing every time she talks
Whose Mort?
Mortensen tolerated BLduMb but wasn't BLduMb. ESPN = BLduMb.
Dude falsely reported without evidence on the whole deflate gate with Brady. Poor journalism. Never man enough to apologize.
