You always got the feeling that Nick had a fondness for Greengrass even though he was always up to no good.

Possibly one of the finest most iconic characters in British TV and in UK society, Mr Claude Greengrass. Shall we all find a little old rogue inside of us each and every day.

Ventress clearly the smartest person in the whole of Yorkshire

Greengrass is actually a genius 🥰🤣

Just the sort of character every village needs; loveable rogue, who would ultimately look after anyone in genuine need. Bill played it to perfection. Sadly missed.

Drippy love that word perfect, yea I hardly bothered watching it after Bill left (Greengrass), just wasn't the same.

great show to bad it ended....it was a crime

Such a shame that ITV pulled the plug on this great show, just to spend more time and resources on that dreadful Emmerdale. That is not family viewing like Heartbeat was. Emmerdale is just all nasty vindictive people who argue from start to finish.
