Heart Transplant Recipient Meets Donor Family For The First Time

When Bob and Marla lost their son, Rob, in a tragic workplace accident in 2017, they made the lifesaving decision to donate his organs, helping 15 people - including heart transplant recipient, Elisabeth. This is what happened when Elisabeth met Bob and Marla for the first time at Westchester Medical Center.

Two days from today will mark the 4th anniversary of the unexpected loss my wife Christine Antoneo Smith. A pulmonary embolism took her life two days before Christmas. She would have been 45. Chris was an organ donor and gave the gift of life to a 3 week old little boy up in the northeastern part of the United States on what would have been our 27th wedding anniversary. All 4 of our children and I are organ donors because of Chris. She is my hero. In Loving Memory of Christine Antoneo Smith Jan 27th 74 - Dec 23rd 15 I miss you my Love.

Their son is alive the soul of the person is in the heart. The donor is a host. She will start with time exhibiting his character traits at the least, at most he will take control of her. I will never be a recipient but wont mind donation my heart so I can possess another person preferably a hot young chick then this one. Most people fear death but they should fear and wish to know first who they are allowing into their bodies.

My friend has CFS and just got a double lung transplant. She will get to live a better life now because someone else made the decision to donate their organs. I am forever grateful for people like that. That is why I became an organ donor myself. ❤️

As a mom, having heard all of my babies' heartbeats as one of the first signs that they were growing inside me, this video wrecked me. I'm so so glad that even though they had to say goodbye to their son, his death was able to save someone, and that they got to meet her.

Hi everyone. 38 years ago my then husband was the first to get a transplant in Canada. Back then we were not allowed to know the donor family. I surprised him on his 5th Heart 💓 Anniversary with dinner and meeting the donor parents. How do you thank someone for your life? It was an amazing evening. He passed away 14 years after the gift of life. Not from the heart but from the drugs that kept him alive. Colon Cancer. Prayer to this lady and the thousands of others receiving their new life. 😃🙏✝️🙏🌹🇨🇦

Blessed donours...... I received a kidney and hope to meet the family one day so they may see that their daughter lives on, within me. Life is so precious. Please consider merely donating blood or be informed by specialised staff in your country about donating.... We live on because of your grace.Thank you🙏🙏🙏

After watching this .... I'm going to go donate a kidney ... for someone at Westchester Medical Center in NY. This was so heart gripping ... so moving. I both hate and love these acts that make me cry from the deepest depths of my soul. They're at the back of the pack in terms of organ donations, and I used to always be in the back of the pack in growing up, in school, in the love life and even in friendships. IT SUCKS being at the back, and no matter what I did or tried, I kept getting shooed to side. At least now, with this goal of mine, I could feel at peace with being at the back of the pack. And suddenly, everything seems a whole bunch different now. Anyway, it will be some time before I can share the experience of donating an organ, but once a mind is firmly made up ... that's it. RIP Rob and God Bless these 2 for letting a part of their son sustain the life another. Rob never really left ... He just ... He had a change in position. So, WMC ... Contact me if you would like. You can find my contact info on my About section of my KZread Channel.

You don't have to die to donate an organ. If you're healthy, please consider donating a kidney and helping someone change their life forever. I received a kidney transplant 10 years ago (this coming December) and I'm doing very well. I was on dialysis for a total of six and a half years. I'm 44 years old. It's an extremely selfless thing you can do to save someone's life

This video (and the many similar ones here) is of course extremely moving, but the most wonderful and moving moment for me was when the recipient asked the parents of the heart donor if they wanted to hear the heartbeat of their deceased son. This was such an empathetic and endearing idea of the woman that it suddenly started to rain in my room! Anyhow, my eyes were suddenly very wet and some drops of water were on my computer desk. God bless all organ donors, these wonderful people, and of course everyone else!
