Its especially soo nice to see Jimmy Page first just start smiling and then get more and more excited to the end. And Robert Plant having tears in his eyes. How much more approval can you get for that this was a great version of their most famous song ?

Sending healing vibes to Ann . Ann and Nancy were really nervous before they stepped on the stage. I have their book and ive read it 3 times.Ann and Nancy are still Beautiful at 74 and 70. Debbie Allen was really enjoying herself also. Debbie played on the tv show Fame and is on Grey's Anatomy and her sister played Mrs. Huxtable on the Cosby show.

Jason Bonham was wearing a bowler cap as a tribute to his father. (You saw in the beginning that "Uncle" Robert was the one that stood and cheered when Jason was introduced) Robert was affected by the fact that the choir had also all donned bowler hats to honor John Bonham. Btw, the story goes that Heart got the call to do this about two weeks ahead of the date and only got to rehearse maybe 2 times. That said, Heart has been performing a variety of Led Zeppelin covers masterfully since the 70's (check them out, they're all fantastic). They were the perfect choice to deliver this tribute.

Ann Wilson was on a Seattle radio show a couple of years ago and was asked about this performance. She said that Nancy and her only had about 90 minuets of rehearsal time for this.

Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. This is one of the best tributes to Led Zeppelin with Ann & Nancy doing the classic song "Stairway To Heaven". No one else could have pulled it off as well. "Heart" have had so many great hits such as "Barracuda", "Magic Man", "Crazy On You", "What About Love", "Never", "Dog & Butterfly", "These Dreams", "Alone" etc.

Imagine being that lead guitarist and having to play one of the most iconic solos in rock history, and you're doing it in front of the legend who created it - Jimmy Page. Talk about nervous! Whew. Every person on that stage must've been nervous. The president of the USA is there. The remaining members of Zeppelin - not to mention the entire world is watching. Bravo to everyone!

Hard to believe that Ann Wilson was 62 yrs old when she did this. What awesome talent. I sure hope that afterwards you went back and "actually watched" the video because bobbing around with your eyes closed you missed on the the expressions on Page' face and the reactions of the others.

If I remember there is a nice story about Jason Bonham: he was asked by Plant (who I believe is his godfather) if he could make it to join them at the Kennedy Center and he had to say he had already committed to something else .... that something else was of course this performance. He is wearing a bowler hat in tribute to his dad and playing his dad's drumset.

I started learning to play piano when I was 9. After my dad died when I was 12, I signed up for guitar in summer school using his guitar that was really too big for me. After a couple months, seeing that I was actually sticking with it, my mom bought a guitar that was more my size. I took it to summer camp after my sophomore and junior years of high school. Summer camp the following year was a hike, so I bought a harmonica and taught myself to play. Did I mention I like music? I bought a Yamaha 12-string in college. I was playing it in the quad behind the cafeteria when another student asked if I could play “Stairway to Heaven.” I said no. So he said, “Then you can’t call yourself a guitar player.” I still play, but I’ve never learned that song because I don’t need his opinion to define me.

When I saw that you had reacted to this I couldn’t miss it! There was me thinking that sort of behaviour was reserved for The Warning! This was a fabulous performance, nobody else has come anywhere near to the quality of this! I felt rather sad when I heard about Ann’s health issues, knocked me for six🥲 Heart were the first female band I ever really liked, they were just so good! Something you might be interested in is a band called Plush who toured with The Warning, they performed a cover of Barracuda at their gigs with them, it was amazingly good! See ya around sometime 🌹

Ann and Nancy are heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin, and it shows in some of their own songs. You can find many Zeppelin covers here on KZread. I've seen them do "Rock and Roll" live many years ago. In an interview they said they terrified of doing this afraid they'd screw it up. Also Jason Bonham, John's son, is behind his father's drum kit. The band asked him to join them, but he told he couldn't due to a prior commitment.
