    Only discovered this clip a year ago and BEG Annie to find a way to release this absolute gem of a song. Have played it so many times since, yet her voice gives me chills every single time. Love this diva type song, and love Ann's startling command of its vocals. MORE people need to have the opportunity to hear, see and applaud this one. The tune is addicting, and Heart junkies and fans should not be denied the pleasure of digging this superb, emotional music.

    I know this comment was 8 years ago buuut I've only been listening to/watching Heart for about a month now. I've known about them for years and liked a couple of their songs but I never thought to properly get into them or listen to them further. That's really strange to me now because they're literally alllll l I'm listening to I've become completely obsessed with them and with Ann & Nancy and I've developed the biggest crush on Ann. Especially around the age she is here in the 80s. she's IS so sooooo beautiful and that voice!!! I could NOT be more in love 😍❤️❤️

    We need some new adjectives to describe Ann's voice. All the good one's have been used. What it must be like to open you mouth and wail like that, and everyone within earshot stops what they are doing and says 'Whoa, who's that?'

    You said it for all of us who are at a loss for words when it comes to Annie's voice. Her range on this song in particular is so powerful, and being a studio setting, heck ... she just sings like she's talking, but loud and incredibly in tune 😉 I have lately been describing her voice and music as Half Heaven, Half Hell.You said it. No adjective exists to explain how Ann's voice feels, how it impacts us mere mortals.

    After watching this a few times, I have to wonder just far along this song is.I think the melody is basically written but the individual parts for each musician are still being created and edited as they go,.Except for the keyboard players who have some notes,, every one else seems to be playing by ear.I am thinking they just practice this over and over until it feels good and then mix it, play it again to fine tune and then record.I would love to see the notes on this session.Would be very interesting indeed.

  • @purpleghost4083

    @purpleghost4083

    8 жыл бұрын

    +lluven1bld The reason the synths (or other instruments) are often seemingly too loud is because this sounds like it is a monitor or reference kind of audio mix/feed and therefore not necessarily a properly balanced one. This may or may not be the same level balance that they are actually listening to in the control room. When you listen/watch closely to all 3 parts of this video, you can hear those times when it seems like he is obviously soloing certain parts for a few seconds. For example, watch closely as the camera pans around when Denny is drumming. You will see that he is clearly drumming but you will hear the drums cut in and out at certain times. That's a clear indication that the engineer and/or producer is pressing the buttons on the console.

Thus, with the exception of "jacko" there was little to compare their 80s music to. Heart hit in the 70s, and developed a certain sound, and fan base, that may have questioned the value of their new 80s material. It was a departure.

    Shame why Ann Wilson never had own children. ???? So at least her daughter could drag her legacy again. Maybe Anyhow woow performance in the studio back then. Amazing

    It wasn’t through lack of trying! Both Ann and Nancy had fertility issues, a family issue. Plus she struggled with relationships in this period. Finally married Mr. Right in 2017! Nancy’s twins came from a surrogate for the same reason.

    +stringbender11672 jealous of you guys! I'm going to see them in Charlotte in September 2016 I believe it is. Just kinda stumbled into this rare footage clips earlier today. What really shows here is that Ann is signing about something she truly believes in ....love. Rock on!!

    I agree in the 70s heart was at its best In the 80s they got a little bit away from their rock roots and went a bit too much mainstream pop in my opinion , but they were still great.
