Yeah he certainly is an underrated guitarist..... after he was dismissed from the band I pretty much lost interest in Heart... they did that album "BeBe La Strange" without him which wasn't that bad considering he wasn't on it but after that their music started going downhill with me they were doing all those love ballad songs in the 80's which I just could never get into...

Heart was my first concert in 77’ and they came to my city 8yrs in a row, they are the reason I love Rock n Roll. They don’t get enough credit for the impact they had on the late 70s , early 80s youth. They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
I've never grown out of this band. Every song still does it for me.
Saw this tour in Binghamton, NY. I didn’t know that I was seeing something that would amaze me on a smartphone over 4 decades later!
Saw them this year in Philly 78. I was floored. Never recovered thank god! Best live band ever. Mistral Wind was just unreal! People went nuts at the end over Rock n’ Roll!
If there was a possibility that this video could be restored to a professional quality, what a collector's item that would be!

300dpi standard from 1971. Sony U-matic This is the best it will be. Up sample via computer possible but this is as it was taped in 1978. 300dpi on a 1969 standard U-matic pro video tape machine. Capitol Centre had a cutting edge multi-camera setup, control room, and 4 massive projectors showing it on 4 screens that hung over center court or the floor seats. Supposedly live only to the building but clearly the technicians had the common sense to run a tape for many shows. Pre-Betamax and VHS so likely pro grade U-matics. They had to run ads and promos for Caps and Bullets, so had to be able to play from a video tape machine. One set of cables would enable recording of the output feed from production desk. Lack of info suggests these uploads are all from technicians and producers, or someone who knew them and they aren't talking. No one wants to admit they took the tapes, likely as it is illegal, copyright strikes, not what bands or managers allowed. We are glad these folks taped the shows so we can see them later. I was at many shows at Cap Centre in 70s and 80s.
I fell in love with Ann and Nancy in Abilene Texas in the 70s at age 15. I still think Ann is beautiful and can still kick ass ,never misses a note

That original incarnation was one of the greatest bands for sure, totally underrated. I wish the 80s version had stayed the course, but I totally understand why they didn't and I would have done the same thing if I had been in their place. But Heart peaked in 1978 with this tour and has never been as good since. Ann, though, has continued to be the best female rock vocalist ever even if their material has suffered.

I have seen Heart multiple times over the course of my life, still believe their best was in their early years up until the mid to late 80's, maybe even early 90's. Have been a fan all of my life starting when they released their debut album Dreamboat Annie, Little Queen was also quite good, the early year acoustical arrangements were top notch! These ladies now in their 60's & 70's can still rock it & kick ass, they belong & deserve to be in the R&R hall of fame! The hall should be honored to have them in it. LOVE HEART!

@@TheKestevon Aerosmith is another band that took the exact same route as Heart in the late 80s -- outside writers, hair metal, and power ballads. I don't like all of Heart's 80s/90s material but for my money I'll take "Alone", "If Looks Could Kill", and "Who Will You Run To" over "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing", "Dude Looks Like a Lady", and "Angel" any day of the week.

Ann Wilson in the 70s was a goddess!!
..closing moments..Ann sits down at the front of the stage..the final vocal part of Without You..ppl tossing flowers to her..:'-) and as they're about to depart, she says, sincerely.."I don't know what to say except we love you and thank you. I saw them this year in Los Angeles at the Forum it was one of the greatest shows I've seen. My big brother took me last minute. We had no tickets. He said lets go Joe! Rolled up a couple doobies put em in my sock. Went up to the ticket window ten minutes before they went on and sure enough some people had not showed up for two seats 7 rows back just off the stage...Perfect seats! I remember the electricity of the crowd the performance. I remember a stranger tapped me on the shoulder and passed me a joint on a roach clip just out of the blue just to be friendly. lol I was 16 and like this ..this is freaking GREAT!
