Birmingham airport. We’ve traveled via there a few times on our way to Lanzarote from Ireland. Over €2,000 cheaper over flying direct. I suppose the rush to the gate on Ryanair is to get an overhead locker for your bag?

I visit Birmingham about twice a year (from Dublin). I find Birmingham Airport very annoying. A lot of the staff, especially the ones supervising boarding, can be very officious.

P.S > My best airport experience in Britain was Bristol. In particular, there were enough seats at the boarding gate area for all the passengers!

I can’t say to blame Ryanair for the terrible boarding experience; the airport should provide decent facilities for customers. It’s such an unpleasant and stressful process.

Aww jack is so laidback. Air travel now is rubbish, not a great experience. Dave I don’t think you’ll leave it to the last minute because then you’ll be stressing about missing the plane, yes just like everyone else. Thanks Dave and jack.

I have seen the following today 22nd May 2024 on the airport website "We're making improvements to your experienceUK Government requires all airports to be compliant with new standards by 1 June 2024, which is the completion deadline for the project, a total investment of more than £60m." So should be done soon folks!!

@@MrTravelONWorld i would agree, but been using the airport for the past 30 years, and its always something that makes the experience bad, i now prefer to travel from manchester, also has had its moments but usualy better than b'ham, and the car parking is cheaper when booked in advance

I always hang back when flying Ryanair....seat is booked so whats the rush ?.....flew to Lanzarote from Edinburgh on Ryanair last week without any issues....same coming back... Birmingham Airport is a dump and its the worst airport ive flown from in the uk !!!
