summer is here, the time of year we should relax and do a little health refresh ! i look at health during the summer as a way to reboot my brain and get new perspectives on everyday life. so when autumn comes back, we’re ready for everyday routines. here are 8 of my favourite ways to make the most out of summer.
i talk about:
- social cushion days
- too much social interaction
- sometimes extrovert but sometimes introvert
- rest up my social brain in between events
- scheduling my time
- mental equilibrium
- quiet time
- videos / podcasts / audio books
- shower thought of the day
- brain process for problem solving
- allowing yourself deep focus
- turning off my phone and and reducing my tab number
- david and his constant cuddling
- mute your phone
- one day per week without shoulds
- not eating well or exercising
- being a ‘i should’ person
- one day per week with all the shoulds
- work focusedly, eat super healthy, just nail the whole day
- the reward of a completely should-free day.
- new perspectives
- out of your everyday routine
- a full day meeting to plan for how to tweak our lifestyle
- the healthiest thing we do all year
- not stagnating or getting stuck in a rut
- habits
- making out / routine touching
- we don’t make out enough!
- cosying with a kitty or puppy
- turn off the headspinning
- more efficient than meditating

Balancing intro/extraversion - as a mom I find it works best to balance within my days....always an activity/playdate in the morning, then the afternoon at home. This works great. I get to be social every day but NEVER all day.

Yesss! I am an introvert with social anxiety and I find if I don't get myself one day a week to just completely turn my brain off from all responsibility I will end up not having energy for the week ahead. Giving yourself permission to check out is so important!

The overload of information and the shower thoughts - on point! Sometimes I feel like my brain is generating its own podcasts because I get so used to the constant chatter 😅

Thanks for these reminders! I really SHOULD take a social media break each day instead of being glued to my devices. Also, I totally agree with that quiet shower time, it really makes a difference!

What I like about Jenny's videos is that even when I feel like I've learned all the self help that I can, she always provides me with fresh new ideas!

The ad playing before this video had the catchphrase: "Designed in Sweden. For better living." I feel this describes both you and the video very well indeed.

I finally got a massage chair. It won’t win any design awards but I managed to find an unobtrusive spot in my house for it. Wow, has it changed my daily routine! My favorite new way to relax every day when I get home from work, or sometimes just to unwind before bed 😁

When the stress takes over I like to sit down at my spinning wheel and spinn for half an hour. It's hard to explain but it feels like the spinning of the wheel takes away the spinning and buzz feeling in my brain.

Introvert. Us introverts still need social time, it just drains our energy tank! My job fulfills a lot of my social interaction needs that by the end of the day I look forward to just having down time.

Thank you for making your KZread channel not only about fashion and aesthetics but also about healthy habits and going back to mental health. Being an extro/introvert myself, I find my quiet me time when knitting without podcasts or videos sometimes :)

Right now I've almost scheduled a full week of nothing before a holiday, and actually I'm getting bored. It's a rare feeling and I'm trying to stick with it, instead of caving in to the wanting to "do something productive". I think it's important to mention that these "rest days" aren't always particularly pleasant, in the beginning they can be quite stressful (fomo and all). But this is exacly why we, or at least I, need them. Sometimes it takes a few days of being bored and letting my mind and body rest until I actually even feel like reading or doing something fun. I used to feel that this was a waste fo time, that I should just SIEZE THE DAY and be out in the sun, but I think theese days are my most important days! A kind of resetting back into reality. Thanks for great content, as always!

I'm with you Jenny. I need time in between my social events. I enjoy my own company immensely! We are in winter here in Australia but I will keep these ideas in the back of my mind, ready for our summer in December! Having said that, the should-free days could work no matter the season. Cheers, Tiina xx

Really loved this video Jenny! I sometimes get frustrated with influencer culture being so aspirational, but this was aspirational in all the right ways: feel like I can actually take some of these habits into my own life, to genuinely increase my happiness!

Tk u for sharing, I also feel I need these breaks, I will pay more attention to this. In my case, I try to get "shoulds" done from Monday thru Thursday, and have things more relaxed over the weekend. Greetings from the Republic of Panama.
