Hi Brittany, I’m so glad I came across your KZread page. You are amazing! I just got diagnosed after suffering chronic pain and got misdiagnosed for 9 years and now I have a syrinx between my L1-3. I have two shredded vertebrae’s in my L8-9, where I got two different diagnoses from two different neurologists. You are an inspiration to me. When I got the syrinx diagnosis I was so shocked and horrified after reading all of the symptoms and what the future might look like, but your videos have given me such comfort and inspiration. Dear Brittney, I'm so happy for these news and the human, professional neurologist you discovered for the first time ! My injury is quite at the same place than yours (but no syrinx, in French it's called "cavernom"). I also have one above in my spinal cord, and it is like your syrinx : stable. I hope together with you that it will remain stable so long as possible, and this is the opportunity for us to live each day intensely, gratefully and with the highest quality as possible. Worrying for tomorrow seems to me loss of energy, so I concentrate myself on today as good as I can ! I wish you much blessings an joy in your life and love.

Happy birthday to your now 15yr old. A wonderful age. Wow, I have never heard of a Syrinx. I don't believe I have one but I do have a herniated disk that lets me know it is there every so often. Had it from an accident that happened a decade before I became paralyzed. Your video is giving me the push to find a new neurologist. My last neurologist was very good but unfortnately he didn't survive covid that a patient brought in. That was two years ago. Tough being a doc. Thank you for the much needed push.

So happy to hear the good news!! I have 3 syrinx in my spinal cord (base of skull/spine, mid spine, and lower spine (L4-L5) that are thankfully stable at the last check.

Happy birthday to your son! Hope he got a big cake and great gifts! Perhaps when you do your Syrinx video, could you explain what a “shunt” is? My cousin had Spina Bifida and unfortunately he never got the chance to explain his shunt to me. And I don’t know if these 2 shunts are the same or not.

Best of luck, ma'am. That "what if" really is the killer. My girlfriend has a tumor on her brain stem, we're in "wait and see" mode to see if radiation treatment worked. Definitely get where you're coming from. Thankful for every day.

Oh man, that's rough. I recommend the book Radical Remission. It's a good book to read to stay out of the fear headspace! Sending love and healing vibes your way!

My friend's niece (15yo paraplegic) and her 16yo quadriplegic friend were so mad I DIDN'T need stitches. I fell off a high wheel antique bike & cut open my leg. I loaded both of them in a car, & drove them to the hospital so they can watch.

I was just recently diagnosed with several syrinx and other problems with my spinal cord. I’ve been searching for answers as to why I have so much pain in my legs and other health issues. I will be seeing my first neurologist December 5.
