I also had no immune system. I was being hospitalized twice a year with pneumonia. My pulmonologist finally did blood tests that showed my IgG was 45! She sent me to an immunologist who put me on Hizentra infusions weekly. That was 2 years ago & I feel wonderful! BTW, I am also a nurse & a caretaker for my husband who was diagnosed with dementia 3 years ago.

Leslie no one would ever know that you've been feeling so rough for so long because you're always so cheerful and uplifting, and you always make me feel better after watching your happy positive manner, even while suffering yourself...Thank you, you're amazing!

You are the first person I’ve heard of to be diagnosed with the same IGG deficiency as myself! I didn’t get diagnosed until 6 years ago and I’m 60 now. In and out of hospitals with chronic respiratory infections, sinus infections. So frustrating that more doctors don’t know to test IGG levels. A simple blood test. But thank you Jesus I had a pulmonologist who ran the test and was shocked at the low numbers. I now do home infusions of IVIG and it has been a game changer in my life so I know how happy you must be. PTL!

I am a follower (fan!) as well and also am immune deficient. I do Subq Immune Globulin therapy at home. It changed my life! I have Common Variable Immune Deficiency - I am IGG/IGA defcient, but I have high IgM and multiple autoimmune diseases. (But am doing well.)

I think a friend has this. Is the test just a basic IGG test that he can ask for?

@@sundoesshine8583 it’s a specific IGG blood panel that measures IGG, IGM, IGA, IGE. A basic IGE panel will not look at the breakdown of levels.

I’m sooo happy for you! ❤ I’ve suffered from chronic health issues most of my life. And have been gas lighted by doctors for decades. I fought for years before my Hashimoto’s, thyroid cancer, and hyperparathyroidism were found. I went as far as telling two specialists that I was sure I had a parathyroid tumor…based on bloodwork and symptoms. I no longer trust or respect doctors. I go for routine tests because I take prescription meds. But, unless I’m hemorrhaging or a limb is becoming detached 🙄, I refuse to make any more appointments. If it’s not in their faces, they won’t see it!

I am so happy to hear your health news! God is so good! My 6 year old granddaughter has IgG/immune issues... she missed 30 days of school last year due to illness. Her bloodwork looked better after getting a pneumovax vaccine recently. We are hoping this will make a giant difference in her health. Thank you for sharing your journey! ❤

So very happy for you, Leslie. It is so frustrating when you know there is something wrong but not one doctor will go the extra mile to try to find out what is wrong. I've been there...... I changed my doctors about every one to two years for almost seven years before I finally found someone that said, " I have an idea.....let's look into...". I think some of my doctors started wondering if I was just a silly old woman who was seeking attention instead of someone who was seeking an answer and hopefully solution to why I felt so blah, brain fog, no energy, hair loss, feeling cold almost all of the time, etc. It turns out something so common but no one took my symptoms seriously. My thyroid numbers are almost non existant. Every doctor I saw, I guess, assumed my thyroid had been tested; I fell through the system cracks ! So frustrating. Again, I am glad you have your answer and your immune program is working. You have so many things going on in your life; keep remembering God is there with you. We all wish we could be there to help you but we know you have many wonderful people in your life that you count on and they do. You look refreshed and your eyes are sparkly with good health. You and Jason are always in our prayers, Leslie.

I used to catch every bug under the sun too. And can relate to having the bug at least twice as long as others. I started getting immune therapy by getting allergy shots (half of which I didn't even know were bothering me). It has made a huge difference! When your body's not tasked with the immune issues it can fight the other better (normal). Amen to just wanting to get sick as often and long as a normal person! I feel your gratitude!!! I'm so happy you found what works for you! God bless.

This is great news, Leslie. I saw my rheumatologist in October and asked for my blood to be retested for autoimmune markers. The doctors said that it wasn't necessary, even though I'd had new symptoms since the last time. I was told to come back in a year. Right after Christmastime (after COVID in July and then RSV in December), I started getting incredible pain and stiffness in my joints to where I couldn't shower or dress or do much of anything in the morning without incredible pain, if I could even bend the joints necessary. I booked the next available appointment., which was in early April. Again, I asked for all my autoimmune markers to be rerun because I KNEW something was up. My symptoms, which I'd started seeing a physical therapist for to show that I was trying to make myself feel better, were undeniable. Sure enough, the doctors complied this time, and they tested for every autoimmune disease possible. And, guess what, my markers, without question, pointed to rheumatoid arthritis. The numbers were through the roof, in fact (one test should have been less than 5 units per millimeter; mine was over 950 units per milliliter of blood). I got my diagnosis, and now I'm on medication. It's not doing everything I'd like it too, but there are others after this one. At least now I'm on the right path. (I thought of you when I was at that appointment in April.) I'm so happy for you.

Praise God! I'm so happy they finally found out what was going on. My best friend's daughter has that and has been on treatment for years. Prior to the treatments she had 2 sinus surgeries and was sick all the time as well. She's a school teacher so you can imagine how she picked up everything that came along. But now she's healthy and doing amazing!
