aww so nice to hear you got 5 kids. did you have issues with having any of your kids while having diastasis recti? i was planning on another child but the acupuncturist today told me, as i went because i have irritable bowel syndrome-constipation, that i have muscle split. rectus abdominis muscle i think she showed me. wasnt too much but i do have it apparently. also might be another reason why im constipated as my muscles arnt together properly to help go for a number 2. But apart from that did your pregnancies go well? as i want to try again as i just had a miscarriage a month ago that wouldve been my 5th child.😢.

I had 3 vaginal births to heavy babies, and my last kids were a c-section due to the placenta previa, and she's already 16. I've been doing pilates on reformer for years but can never get up for a teaser, and that frustrated me more than anything. I have flared ribs from pregnancy, but I never heard of DR. I feel so depressed for the past 16 years because no matter what I did, I just cant cjange enlarged rib cage and bulging stomach. No matter how much I diet and exercise, I just still look the same. I was a size 00 before babies, and now a sad size 10 and going through menopause is making me feel even worse about my body. There are no internet or youtube back in the days with all this information😢 . I am 52 now, and my pilates classes and my pilates classes have many women who are around the same age and have the same type of body as mine. We are happy that we are accomplished mothers but feeling sad for our bodies and didn't know what happened to our bodies and how to take care of it. I think we are a forgotten generation before internet. I know its too late for me but I will definitely making sure my daughter will get the best care she can get.

In the same boat you are in except my child is now 30, lol. Huge DR but from what I understand makes no difference if it was from 9 months ago, 10 years ago or 30 years ago it can still be healed. Trying these now.

I’m 4 months postpartum and started my fitness journey in January 2nd. My midwife did advise me to take it easy and even though I’m only about 1 1/2 inch of a gap, my core does not feel strong for my favorite typical core workouts. So here I am giving special attention to my core, breathing and movement. Slow and steady truly will make a difference ❤ my question is, how many repetitions do you recommend for these exercises?

I have just discovered this and am so grateful firstly for being able to diagnose my seemingly odd poat partum bulge which I did not experience after my 1st baby. 8 months post partum with my 2nd baby and had a similar weight gain and then loss across both pregnancies. I have started this but am slightly confused - are we aiming to intake as much air as possible on the inhale and then eliminate that air on the exhale while ‘tensing’ our abdominal muscles? I want to make sure I get the technique right.

Hey, thanks for your workout. I am 7months postpartum and wanted to start with that exercise. I still have got a 1 finger diastasis recti. And sometimes when I do things like situps my belly looks like a „triangle“ which shows me that I still have the recti… well my question is. Before pregnancy I didn‘t have this „triangle“ when I did for example situps. Should it be like before pregnancy when I do situps should it look like before pregnancy so I know I don‘t have the gap in between anymore OR isn‘t it possible to be like before pregnancy anymore? I hope you unterstand what I mean 🙈
