Here in France, specifically in Orléans, my child (13 yrs old), who’s in middle school, is not allowed to use his phone in school. They can only turn on their phones once they’re out of the school premises. If they have an emergency issue, they can always inform the admin or profs, and they’ll give them the permission to use the school’s landphones.
