What? What about the presumption of innocence until proven guilty? A lawyer is an instrument of justice. You cannot shame any lawyer for taking a client because its their duty as an officer of the court. If a lawyer acts contrary to the law then fine, shame them for their unlawful actions. But representing someone, anyone is a lawful action.

We cannot blame them. One day soon or currently man kamag anak ka rin na lawyer, na mag represent ng suspect sa husgado. Bawal na hindi tanggapin nila kapag kelangan na sila. Kaya dun sila bumabawi sa Attorney's Fee, lalo na kung mahirap ang kaso, eh talagang malaki ang hihingiin nila.

This is why I see people practicing law as dirty. Since lawyers have an oath to defend their clients, even if there is already evidence that their clients were lying and gulity. The lenghts and hoops they must jump over to give their clients a win is so disgusting.

Correction-lawyers are not paid to Lie, they are paid to defend their clients no matter if the client is guilty. The sad thing about these lawyers defending this Alice Guo is they might have been paid a ton of money to defend when the evidence is pointing otherwise.

The money is so good that Alice Guo's attorney is fighting tooth and nail even if his client is lying to her teeth.

Just my two cents, if you talk to a lawyer, obviously they will never admit to what is true, neither would they agree to the interviewer. The other issue that I have is the use of the verb “insist” these lawyers can not insist on anything, but they will prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the evidences are favourable for them the defendant. They way I would have approach the interview is to ask the lawyer about the topic of attorney-client privilege. The next question is, how will you prove to the judge or jury to prove without a reasonable doubt that the document from NBI may be used or can it be excluded? I would have probe on the issue about this lawyer last communication with his client. What are their action plan regarding the document. If other evidence becomes available arethey willing to concede and cooperate instead of dragging this case? Finally, don’t let your emotions play or show during the interview. Remember, you’re trying to know how they think, not to fish for information that could incriminate their client.

Yeah I agree, wala pa napapatunayan. Only the honorable court can tell who’s telling lies. Di ka pwedeng magconclude at mag bigay hatol sa isang tao na di dumadaan sa tamang process. Bawat tao ay may karapatan ipagtanggol ang sarili at makaavail ng isang abogado na magtatanggol sa kanya. Nasa korte na ang magiging pasya kung sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo. Guilty sya if mapatunayan na ng korte, pero hanggang hindi pa nadidinig ang kaso at wala pang hatol, maituturing na inosente ang isang tao. Lahat ay dumadaan sa due process. Hanggang walang napapatunayan, mananatili itong allegations. Ang batas natin ay walang kinikilingan pero dapat dumaan yan sa tamang proseso.

However, as a Filipino, this is about more than just your work-it's about your loyalty to the nation. Guo pays you a lot, but are you really doing this for the money? So the best advice you can give to Guo is for her to confess and cooperate with the Philippine government to reach a settlement that will reduce her sentence.

This is the problem when the interviewer does have an idea on how a court case works. Even if you provide all documents and believe that those are valid, ONLY A COMPETENT COURT can prove it. Always remember, when someone file a case in court, the person who filed that case has the burden to prove "na patunayan sa korte na ang nasasakdal ay nagsisinungaling" At ang korte ang magdedesisyon kung nagsisinungaling at guilty ang nasasakdal". Mga abogado yan, even sa law school yan ang tinuturo samin. Ang opinions ng madla at opinion ng mga mismong lawyers ng nasasakdak ay irrelevant sa kaso na isinampa against their client/s.

Advice mo na lang yung client mo huminge ng tawad.

It all boils down to, 👉 "See you in court attorney."

Let's remember that lawyers are paid para lumusot kahit anong gusot.
