Can it run dual amps? The signal routing options look limited. Could you perhaps show all of the signal chain options? Can you split and reconnect anywhere like Fractal and QC? Can you have multiple outs? This is the 3rd video I’ve watched on the unit and yours is the best as usual. Thank you!

Great video Leon, thanks. When I started watching the video this morning I went to the Sweetwater site and was shocked to see they had 9 units available. I expected to see, "new product due in a few months", like everything else usually says, when a new product comes out. I bought one when the Sweetwater site said there were only 3 left and now I'll have it on Thursday. :)

Tremendous demo...what I'd like to see is a demo of low to medium crunch tones, dry, where you let the notes decay. A smooth, gradual decay vs. the old school scratchy, pixelated digital fizz is a good litmus test for modeling/profiling accuracy.

Yeah everything gets this wrong. I will say Amplitube 5 did it to the next level though, until Tonex came along. The Tonex fuzz, I say and played with for abiut 2 hours last night. It and the germanium based pedals are insane. Wonder how well headrush handles this.

Great video, had mine a couple of weeks now and really enjoying it, I find the amp cloning easier than my Kemper and sounds just as good. It’s a little wider than the helix but slightly lighter so given the extra functionality I’m happy with that. Plus it’s built well and still a lot more convenient than my head and 2x12 plus pedals 🙂

Wonderful demo video. I noticed how everyone seems to complain about the size and heft of the unit. Having previously owned the Headrush pedalboard I loved that it had such a rugged, sturdy feel. If you are going to be lugging this from gig to gig you want to know it's going to hold up. Plus it still ways a ton less than many tube amps. Another note is I never judge tone through a KZread video. Too many factors including my computers speakers and the compression through streaming.

Question. And the manual did not seem to cover it... Is it possible to have all 12 footswitches turn on/off effects in one patch instead of having some them assigned to up/down and tap tempo? Thanks for your time. Have a great day

If only Fractal could build an FM6 with this style touch screen user interface and a “Basic Mode” for on-the-fly editing, but still keep the computer interface for deep editing. Or if Headrush could up their modeling game. It has a lot going for it. Better yet, Neural and Headrush could team up for a helluva unit.

How are these for real amp feel? Can you get a black sabbath heaven and Hell tone? With hint of delay? Im used to real amps feel. Im not against using a processor if it can do a convincing tones, especially live playing with the band.

Another great vid! I am a Helix owner and just picked up the HR Prime. In my opinion, the Helix sounds allot better to me. Maybe I am just used to the Helix to my ears, but when I did a side by side, the Helix sounds more realistic, full tone, better feel...its just better. The features of the HR are great, but the tones (which is most important) are just not as good as the Helix.

If you based this assessment on custom patches you created, your assessment is fair. If it's just based on on presets, it's not. Presets mean nothing.

I have Helix, Kemper and GT1000. Using tones I made myself I’d say it’s on par with the other meddlers. The profiles I made of my amps sound as good as the Kemper, and the cloning process is easier. However the Helix has more amps and effects, that could change over time if HR releases new them in updates etc.

large? i am considering to finally switch from my koch multitone tube amp, with huge pedalboard for midi board to contral box 19 inch rack (boss something with 700 also 25 years old....weighing probably 5 times this i guess. One question: how can you have feedback. I use that moving the guitar into the speakers, what if there are no speakers.....and you hear only yourself on the inear?

I won't shop around until my Helix does. I can't get interested in captures at all unless there was a certain amp that wasn't included and that a Friend owns. Maybe if you already had a big stable of amps already and wanted to clone them to take out live?

So, what you think if you compare gx-100 and headrush? Still remember I already have HR before. Do you use all of that HR can delivery? I think in my old HR I just use 20-30% max of all stuff. What your opinion of that?

  • @LeonTodd

    @LeonTodd

Touchscreen and general UI on the HR is great, and it's nice having specific models of amps (marshalls, Boogies etc) rather than the generic BOSS "stack amp", "combo amp" style thin. The GX-100 does sound great and the effects are particularly good.

I’ve had such a terrible time trying to use vocal pitch correction live. It works perfectly fine on the vocal but the bleed from the guitar and other instruments also gets affected by the tuning algorithm and creates terrible phase issues with the guitars etc. I hope they’ve found a way to solve that in a live setting.

WHOA! Being a analog/tube reliant, & detesting screen menus, Helix Stomp got my attention, ToneX just plain scared me (ability/price point, I was being drawn into the singularity!), the Zoom G-11 got me salivating, but this, THIS ‘God Box’ has got me for sure. A software editor, blutooth access/control & my own >1/4” headphone adapter, Headrush can just take my other kidney! Another excellent vid, Leon, & I wonder, how would this stack up to your Fractal live performance rig? 👏👍🇦🇺

I watched a lot of these Headrush Prime videos and all are showing the same routing order. I'm just kind of curious about the direction of the chain. Is there any way that the setup can be changed the other way around? Possibly a dive in the settings and just simply changing it there? I mean from below going up instead of the "in" from the top left going down to the "out". I'm just used to the fact that the placement order of my physical pedals that I'm seeing right now is placed from my right going to left which is also indicated universally on all of the individual pedals on earth.

  • @LeonTodd

I don't think so. Most other modellers run left to right as well which always struck me as weird given how most pedals go
