    Question: Rather than cloning an amp preamp only, would it be recommended to load down the amp, and to take a line out feed post power amp and pre-speakers? Thanks..

    HEADRUSH FX, you should have had the Amp Cloning with also to save 3 channels per each CLONE so you can have different preamp gain levels and EQ settings to clone. I'm curious to see how well the cloning will do for fenders Hot Rod amps and Fenders Blue Deville amps because they have a nice tube breaking up sound which will be hard to clone.

    When cloning the preamp of a head only, with no cabinet involved, the waring says not to connect the powered speaker output into the mic input of the Headrush. What am I supposed to put in-between the 8ohm jack on the amp head to the mic input on the Headrush? A DI or LOAD box I am assuming? What's the difference?

  • @jfo3000

    @jfo3000

    Жыл бұрын

    To get the signal of the preamp only you'd have to extract signal from the effects send, not the 8ohm out. This is just in general. You need to ask if the effects send can go into PRIME, but it seems that is what they are implying...per your verbiage above. You might want to contact tech support to remove any ambiguity before cooking any electronics.

    what volume level should the amp be to clone? im guessing if you have it on 0 it wont do anything because no tone going through the amp. but probably dont want to be on 10 either. so what is optimal level on the amp when cloning?

  • @HeadRushFX

    @HeadRushFX

    Жыл бұрын

    The input level going into Prime should be -6dB, but the level of your source (amp) depends on what amp you're using and what kind of tone you want. Cloning captures the exact tonal properties coming out of your amp. Basically, whatever level YOU think your amp sounds good at is the level you should be cloning at. If you have a tube amp that needs to be CRANKED, then crank it!

    -6db with guitar volume dimed? No one seems to be clear on this.

  • @JohnvanCapel

    @JohnvanCapel

    Жыл бұрын

    The -6db is a ballpark figure - if you have a very low-output guitar, you'll probably want to dime it, but the average guitar you can just set it to "whatever tends to sound nice to you". The HeadRush sends some test signals through at basically all volumes a guitar can achieve on its own, and it can work around the mic input as long as it's not peaking or bottoming out. The amplifier's volume should also be on however you like it, as long as you set the parameter in the HeadRush to be the same.

  • @014bhap

    @014bhap

    -6 is the max imput volume from the amp or pedal. I would have the guitar volume all the way up. Otherwise the input will be too hot. You are looking for -6db Max Headroom. (remember him?)
