Cheers! I had the same “humming” experience on my X7 too. Pretty much had to leave it on triode the whole time. Nice glasses frames btw. Spent more time eyeing you than anything else lmao 😉

I like it when a reviewer actually reviews rhe different aspects of integrated amps. Please do more of this where you review the dacs, hp amps and phonostages of an integrated with comparisons like you did. The lower end schiit stuff are great things to compare with to show whether these amps have good value or not. If you can, please do this with the psaudio sprout 100, cambridge audio axa35, rega io, nad all in ones etc...

Would love to own Manley equipment at some point. Everything front the sound, to the quality, to the aesthetic are right up my alley

It was nice to hear some thoughts on the headphone section of the X7. I've primarily used it for 2 channel speakers but recently tried out the headphone section. I really enjoy the sound I'm getting with my AKG K701s.. And I generally do not like their neutral profile. What dac/souce are you using to feed it?

You can get much quieter background for the X7 with TAD E82CC tubes. You can change all the pre-stage tubes for it.

Nice to see you got Empyrean and Arya I have got both running from Topping A90/D90 stack I enjoy Arya more than Empyrean on some tracks I find Empyrean having more treble harshness compared to Arya, I am having hard time justifying myself in keeping Empyrean. What is your view. Maybe good to do a comparison video for both. Thanks.

Hi, have you tried the SA3 with high impedance HP? Just found out to be anemic with 32 Ohm but with HD6XX 300 Ohm it is fantastic! Open, dynamic and nimble with bass kick that I wasn’t aware of the HD6XX. 😊

How’s the hiss on X7 with Ayra? I am considering to buy x9 and use Ayra. Does adjusting the hum do anything to reduce the hiss on the headphone output on x7?

You need ground box as tube equipment are extra sensitive

my tube amp benefited greatly from emotiva power DC cleaner outlets specifically the 2 outlet version the higher outlet version does not get rid of DC buildup in transformers that cause the noise like the 2 version does. also IFI makes some good ones unless you wanna go crazy with the linear ones. but they dont clean as well.

Have you tried playing with the gain switches on the bottom of the Mani? Curious if that makes any difference.

Good question- I kept it at the recommended setting for MM cartridges but I'll try playing with the gain if I have time

@@MidFiGuy I use the Mani on my X-7 and did not use the recommended gain settings, I experimented and found one I liked better. Using a Orbit uturn special with blue and red ortofon.

my desktop stack is the topping d90/a90 running hifiman aryas. i put a modi 2 into free input into the a90. linked zones in roon and toggled the a90 between the d90 and the modi. the difference was SOOOOO small between the dacs -- i was shocked. no chance i could blind A/B them.

Fair point. Both the D90 and Modi are using AKM chips versus the Wolfson in the SA3. I agree it would be harder to tell the difference between two AK-based DACs

@@MidFiGuy i figured my chain was pretty resolving and i'd easily spot the difference between a $100 dac (that's 3 years old) and a new $800 dac. i'm curious how an R2R (like bifrost 2) would compare to my topping d90...

@@morrimoto check my DAC Roundup video of you haven't already. R2R's tend to sound more organic while delta sigmas are great at resolving micro details
