Loking forward to the spitting vid, the internal surface of the lense is l believe lacquered and that can craze.

Silver inserts look so much better to me too, great vid Dom, very useful. Glad to see you've got the front back on your car!

Iam sure i didnt remove that rear clip when i removed mine years ago. Just slid the headlight out of the socket before pulling it out

I just performed a headlight removal today. Thanks heaps for your insights.😎🤜🏼🤛🏼🇦🇺🍀🍀🍀 I had really cloudy lenses. I fully sanded of the factory clear coat using 400 and 800 grit. Then I used anti-static cleaner with lint free cloths, before hitting is with a dust coat of DuPont 2 pac clear, follow by two light coats with full flash drying in between every coat. It’s amazing to see TT headlights so milky after sanding with 800grit and as the clear coat goes on it’s instantly crystal clear.

Top work, I bet with all the hot weather its even worse out there than in the uk!! yeah it amazes me how one spray and it changes from satin to see through haha

take the top torx off the bumper and remove the grill a lot easier than taking wheels off

I prefer the black inlay, great video do.

@@TheParrottBros yes, on a light color like silver i prefer the silver inlay but on darker colors i prefer the black

Nah.. just lever em out with a crowbar. Much simpler and a bit of double sided sticky tape to stick the new ones in 👍

Sweet - I need to sand mine (They're not super bad, but I have the kit so might as well!). I'd love to see a video on removing the lens and re-sealing it after if you plan on doing that

You probably know ,can I put xenon headlights to my 2001 180bhp mk1 TT ? Or the xenon have a different plug/play ?

I av a mk 1 225 tt with hundred and forty five thousand on the clock its mint love to av a stage 1 or 2 tune but it makes me nervous about engine damage

That is a very good statement, the risk with mapping older high mileage cars is you Put more strain on the older components so for example a warn clutch / old turbo / perished pipework etc with the extra boost may just give out. That being said I had 180k when I got mine mapped 😂

Dude, after the 2 top and front bolts are undone, you pull forwards and slide headlight out of the S bracket. Theres no need to get into removing the S bracket in the wing , the plastic pin on the lamp is a locator, just pull the head light out of the bracket.

Quite a common Theme on mk1’s. Be worth using one of those headlight restoration kits like holts or autoglym

If you are putting them back in the same car you removed them from and made no adjustments you should be fine. If you have bought or repaired one yea 100%

Behind the orange bezel if that’s what you mean. Lamp is mounted at bottom in middle at back

Audi be like ; Taillight ? - Turn single nob with your hand behind this specially designed neat compartment. no tools needed Headlight ? - Plan your day off and call your mate prior to gathering tools required for dissembling the bodykit and continuing to step 2/48.

6:42 someone legit did that too me. i left my car at work overnight and when i came back the next day for it i saw the headlight slightly pushed in and my wheel arch damaged 🥲
