On my 2007 Santa Fe, I removed the two 10mm screws & one 10mm nut, then pulled the drivers-side headlight assembly out following your instructions. Replaced the burned out low-beam bulb. Then reinstalled everything. Took about 15 minutes. THANK YOU so much.

Good to read it went smoothly.

Hints: - after you get the front edges pulled out about an inch grasp under and pull UP. The clips under the outer edge will release and you can remove the assemblies. - the headlight assemblies that I purchased on eBay had connections for both one- and two- plug connections. - hook up your electrical connections and make sure you lights are working properly BEFORE installing them. - my new assemblies came with new bulbs installed. Be sure to remove the good bulbs from your old assemblies, label them, wrap them securely, and put them in your glove compartment. Do not touch the glass portion of the bulbs and wipe them off if you do.

Taking this out wasnt too bad but man, getting it back in was nuts. I had to remove the skinny top plastic bezel in order to do so. I popped it back on but without the 4 screws it had. Not a huge deal considering it's still secured by the 2 larger bolts, but still.

Greta video - quick and to the point. Only two screws and one little bolt, then slide the headlight base out. Took roughly 15 mins from start to finish. (And I'm not the most handy person) Thank you !

Thx for the video. The clip is a flat slot on the lower signal light side. The headlamp will slide out when you pull it out.

Interesting, your fender cover is popped out like mine. After seeing you remove the cover, i wonder if that fender piece connects to something around it. I been trying to push it in with no luck. Maybe removing that headlight cover will fix it

I have a 2008 santa fe. my old headlight only has one cable, why does my new headlight have 2 cables? the large one has 6 prongs, the smaller one has 2 prongs. i installed the new one and everything is working but dont know what that second cable is for.

Line it up as best u can and once it starts rewlly resisting dont be afraid to hit the sum'bich in there cuz its a bit of a tight fit. Cheers!

I think the second clip he references is just the other electrical connection. I had a tough time removing because one of the clips on lower edge of clear plastic lens was catching on bumper (got bent down and made it worse when pulling), so once bolts are out and electrical connections are loose, be sure to carefully look around perimeter to make sure an edge is not catching. I don't know how you can change out turn light without full removal unless you have tiny hands.

Check out the easy way how to do this on the passenger side. It is tight on the drivers side but after checking the bulb type form the other side i was able to change the bulb without taking the headlight assembly out - I am not a mechanic - if i can do it anyone can.

@@taniaarevalo6254 I ended up not changing the lights, but from what I gathered is that some headlights are just made different in the factory. I believe that this particular year and model was doing transitional updates and some cars may be the same but parts may vary.

I thought I had to fully remove the front bumper… gonna try this,,

Dont have to remove entire unit to change bulb. Unscrew back side and swap out.

I know its 3 years 2 late but i believe the 2008 only has the one clip in the middle not the bottom corner one

So, long before the video is finished and I want to see how the fittings are removed, KZread throws a bunch of trashy links on the screen and blocks the view of everything. How ridiculous is that?

Ummm you don't have to take apart the whole headlight to change the bulb. You can literally change the bulb in like 25 seconds and your done.

Yes but he is showing how to replace the headlight assembly, not just a light bulb. This is in case your headlight is broken or cracked/ I've seen guys replace and disassemble half the engine bay to do this on this car

Unfortunately I had a body shop jam a bulb in by threading it improperly, so I had to engage in this nonsense because it was impossible to remove without pliers (which will not fit into the driver's side space because of the fuse box). Thanks for the tip on the angle to disengage that clip at the back of the assembly (the manufacturer book adds an unnecessary step & skips this detail). I was pretty unhappy to have a 30-second task turned into a drawn-out mess. Your video helped with the mystery of removing the assembly & finally we were done. 😌👍

You are correct. You don't have to take them out to change the bulbs, but the wire retainers can be a pain in the tail and this is almost easier than trying to get the retainer to cooperate. For me though I'm getting ready to do something about the finish on the headlights and it's just easier to take them out and put them on my work bench.

I'm gonna f+ck up my car so bad if I try this.

Removed the three screws but can’t get the clip to release. Who the f designed this f ing thing just to replace the god d bulbs

only a twat would design a car that you have to do this much dismantling JUST to change the sidelight bulb. Shame because the car is fantastic

its called a headlight replacements video not a bulb replacement. READ. Learn to read.
