As someones who's only home is a mobile home in S. Florida for me and 3 kids, I'm really glad to see that mobile home across the street looks fine. When I saw the branches down, I actually THOUGHT GOOD, minor damage. I'm glad your property is fine.

Elizabeth saying "hi house" brought tears!! I've done that same walk and to find a mess is beyond heartbreaking. Your home is blest. But you all bought a vintage home and they knew how to build them!!!Excited for you!!!

Elizabeth, I laughed when you said there was supposed to be a rain storm later. As a person who lived in Florida for 15 years my thought was, "Welcome to Florida, the land where thunderstorms are a daily occurance".

I thought it was so sweet of you to share a kiss on camera. My parents are both 86 and are still affectionate like that. I tease them about smooching in front of the child (me). Home doing good is a testament to how the older homes were built well. And that was cute when Elizabeth kept saying "Hi House."

I flew to Las Vegas rented a car 6 years ago and drove through the mountains to St. George Utah to the showroom of Wilding wall beds. I Ordered an incredible wall bed, but the real experience was the drive. INCREDIBLE

Our winter home is a doublewide on the coast in the Sarasota-Bradenton area. We were brushed by the hurricane on its way north. We are up 54 inches because of the flood zone, and we know we had water under the house. Because of family commitments we can't go down until after Christmas. We understand the relief in your voice when you verified that your house was ok. Live oaks are tough. I am so glad that yours is ok. Blessings!

So fun to see you back in FL., looking so happy and healthy! Watching you point out, all the things that were miraculously undamaged brought to mind a saying, I grew up with, "Somebody up there must like you!" Heck, he even protected your wasps! 😂 And, I agree, Salt Lake City is beautiful, especially the mountains that surround it! First time I was there was in the 1970s, and the thing I remember first noticing, was that, at least in June, the mountains looked different in each direction, one appeared to have pinkish rocks, one green with one type of trees or foliage, one had brown and gray rocks, and I think one had a different color of trees and plants. But it was all beautiful! Have fun, and can't wait to see you finish decorating, and arranging the house!! 😊❤

I love metal roofs. Even though they aren't indestructible, they are wonderful to have. If the cost were not prohibitive, I would have one put on my house when it needs it. It does usually increase the value of the house, and if chosen well, they look great.

How wonderful that the Florida home is fine! After hurricane/superstorm Sandy hit Long Island the largest pine in my front yard fell. Thankfully to the street and not on my house. I had to hire people to cut it up because according to FEMA it wasn’t obstructing the street enough for them to saw it up. But once we hauled the hundreds of pounds of debris to the curb FEMA came with a truck like the one you videoed and carted all of it away. Love the pioneer woman things so pretty

I believe that the tree and yard debri is covered by federally funded disaster relief In my state (TN). Homeowners are told to specifically separate yard and household items destroyed by a catastrophic storm, from regular weekly trash. We are given dates for pickup on the government funded removal.

If you paint the upper side of your eves and outdoor ceiling a light blue, you won’t have problems with those wasps. They will think it’s the sky and won’t build a nest there, also, it’s a southern thing. It works I promise, I tried it. When an older neighbor told me about it because I was having problems with them, I thought they were crazy, so I did an experiential and tried it. It worked! Hugs, and love y’all from Texas!

Bill, regarding the wasp nests. I used to have a problem with them building nests in one spots and only that one spot. Last time I had to deal with a nest, after using the spray insecticide, I treated (coated) the entire underside of the eave and they didn't build there again the rest of that summer. So, just for sprouts, long about the end of February, I sprayed that area again, and did not have a problem with wasp nesting there. So, I just make it a point to pretreat with the insecticide and haven't had a nest since. (hope I don't jinx the situation by sharing this 😄) Granted, you'd be spraying the entire underside of all the eaves around the house ..... that would be a lot of cans of insecticide. Maybe a profession exterminator company would have a product that they could use to pretreat the eaves to prevent the wasps nesting.

You can trim the dead out of your crape Myrtle & it will bloom again & beautiful. So glad your back in Florida. Enjoy yr stay

You all fared very well better than we did over north of GNV Florida. Our 10 acres we had trees and limbs and debris everywhere. It was pretty bad and it took me about a week to clear it up . I did most of it myself with the chainsaw- we had huge branches come down that were the size of a tree and actual they were Oaks, and, no damage to either houses or the building structures... just lots of debris and tops of some pine trees completely off the only thing that the county took care of and it's the county that takes care of stuff along the road, not the state and it took them forever so I was out there cleaning up in front of the property where there's a little road that goes down where the farm lands and everything are in front of our house. just a small road that's not really maintained much it is asphalt but I went and cleaned all that myself. I used my gravely lawnmower to pull huge branches of trees with chains and then used the trailer behind me for the other branches that I had cut up... but I was surprised because you're more northwest of us and actually didn't get it that bad so praise the Lord we were on the northeast side of the hurricane and we got pretty bad over here. But God is good and it's over and hopefully hurricane season will be over pretty soon for all of us. It can hit any coastline normally in October comes up through the gulf more so with all their spraying going on in the skies one just never knows where anything's going to hit or the direction that it might be intended to go. Glad you guys are back in Florida safe and sound.🤠🌴🙏🦋

From experience trees within reach of your home are a bad idea. I have had more than one insurance adjuster warn me about them in my lifetime. I can see the point. They look for possible accidents and risk. I have trees on my property, but away from the home. Glad yours was ok.

So nice to see you there in your winter home and to see no serious damage from the hurricane! If you want to be rid of those wasps, try out the stuffed brown paper bag hung in the carport! It looks like a hornet's nest to wasps and they will clear out! I still have no wasps outside my back door 18 mos after I hung one there. In fact there are no wasps in the whole back yard at all! It's better than having to spray wasp killer and dealing with dead wasps and old nests! It is effortless! Utah is beautiful too! You may already be back from there and I hope you had a great time! Love you both!
