The best thing about He Who Remains/Kang is that he’s right. Not even in a Thanos sense where he believed he was right, but he was genuinely right. He was a necessary evil to prevent something far worse.

As far as we know, this guy has the highest kill count in the MCU BY FAR. Like if Thanos’ kill count was a single drop of water, this guy’s was a goddamn ocean in comparison. No wonder he’s like this.

@Outis Maybe, but I don’t think so. The Celestials destroyed just one planet every couple thousand years over the course of eons, while the TVA, it seems, pruned entire realities every few seconds non-stop for that same amount of time, if not longer.

What could be worse than Kang? Ultron was defeated, Thanos was defeated, I think they’re gonna work on Dormammu, and we don’t even know if Galactus is gonna show up yet. And they only just mentioned Ch’thon.

I like how his tech is insanely advanced yet still keeps things in book🤣

I heard a theory. Those thunders he is listening at that time, are the echoes of Scarlet Witch awakening. This scene happens at the same time when Wanda defeats Agatha and exploits her full potential, cause she is a nexus event creator. So Kang realized he has no more control of what’s gonna happen next, and behind him, new timelines born.

Hes a quirky funny little surprise of a villain and yet he's also terrifying. Thanos had a large build up, a strong motivation and was both physically and psychologically scary. But this guy is on another level in my opinion and this was the best version of him. I'm ngl guys. I'm scared

@@FULANODETAL firstly it's "buffoon" Secondly Wilson Fisk and Killgrave are presented as surface level scary. They demonstrate power in its raw form by being strong or having major influence. This is a character who is taking childish glee in the idea that no matter what happens he always wins. Its the idea that this was the "good" version of Kang and if that is the best this guy can be then who knows what's coming after him. That's scary in a way that those villans are not. Because like it or not if I kill Wilson Fisk then guess what? No more Fisk. This guy proves that killing him doesn't solve anything and can even make things worse. And he knows it, he loves it. Maybe try and look at things more deeply than surface level and you might understand why Marvel is so successful and loved. This is expert story telling and its actually kinda dumb to write this character off as nothing but a buffoon.

@@FULANODETAL no this guy isnt scary but he isnt meant to be. Like he said, he is a dictator but dispose of him and something far worse will fill that void. He Who Remains or Nathaniel Richards if you will here, just gave us a small peek behind the corner of what's to come. Yes he was not exactly what we expected but he isnt meant to be Kang here, he is meant to be some form of Immortus, if you know Kangs history you know that the people that most often get in his way are the other versions of himself, Iron Lad, the Scarlet Centurion, Rama Tut, Immortus or in the MCU, he Who Remains. No he isnt scary, hes goofy and unpredictable and i hardly classify him as a villain. But he gives us just a small glance at whats to come, a terrifying new villain, and that is the beautiful thing about this scene.

If Kang is going to be just as cool in the MCU as he is in the comics and he has the same level of charisma as HWR's, he could easily become one of the top MCU villains that fans really enjoy

the moment when Sylvie pushes the desk and He who remains just stomps his feet in excitement and laughs 🙂🙂🙂 then .. “see you soon 😉” This mans a psychopath , Kang ready to fuck shit up

He doesn't feel like a psychopath... Not in the traditional sense at least... Imagine watching the same movie over and over and over again for millions, billions, trillions of years (and being forced to do it) and it always, every single time ending the same. And then suddenly it doesn't stop where it usually stops and you have no idea what's going to happen and everything is exciting again. This man isn't a psychopath in the clinical sense like he can't feel empathy. He's just seen everything and believes, rightfully I might add, that this is the only way it can go. He's had such a long time to rationalize this that his mental block of the atrocities that he has committed that when that breaks, when he finally isn't watching the same movie but actually living, he can't help being completely intoxicated by it.

This performance…such insanity conveyed in a childlike demeanor. I love it!

Honestly I have never seen insanity portrayed in an "adult" like fashion. Unless you count the Hannibal Lecter style of madness as more mature. It isn't though.

That strange moment where he just stops and says “we just passed the threshold” that’s the moment Wanda becomes the sorcerer supreme in her serie Bravo Marvel, seize to amaze me

I think there's not Wanda but in fact strange s spell on spider man and then Sylvie killed him and that make the multiverse even more corrupted and I believe that multiverse isn t infinite because if everything and everyone could be destroyed as he said on the first multiversal war logically if all could be destroyed that s not infinite but finite

I actually wonder if we’re going to see the “other side” of that comment in Quantumania. If he said at the end of the episode “Better hurry- the timelines are starting to branch!” Then feasibly whatever happened caused his variant(s), perhaps Kang in the QR passed a threshold where his sacred timeline no longer holds and Loki/Sylvie needed to make a choice…..Sylvie chose poorly.

I’ve never been engulfed and absorbed by a performance like this before.

He’s phenomenal and lethal in Quantummania. Bravo Johnathan Majors.

“Everything burns” after the last episode is crazy.

He was literally the multiverse's Dark Knight, a hero that no one knew and everyone that got to know just hated him for being a cosmic tyrant....when in fact, in extinguishing freedom, he saved the "holy timeline" from a multi-dimensional-multiversal-time war caused by HIS variants, that of course came to exist as a product of the said "freedom". Marvel stepping their game up dude, He Who Remains was the greatest sacrificial hero of all time, and the only pebble stopping the biggest threat EVER to run free, BUT NO MORE!

What do you expect?''. Is it a flawed movie? Sure but I had good fun watching it and Kang was definitely a highlight for me :)

Gives me Doctor who vibes, a man who had to basically used a weapon to destroy reality just to be the only true master of time with the power to bend it to however he likes. Similar characters to an extent, they both feel tremendous guilt for what they’ve done, and despite it being for the greater good they will always be seen as a destroyer no matter what context it’s put in too. And because of that people will try to destroy it, and they both always come back😂

When He Who Remains said "We just crossed the treshhold" He obviously know someting about dr. Strange did in No Way Home

Having never read the comics but learned a few things about them, specifically the love story between Kang and Renslayer (though admittedly it's the Kang the Conqueror and Renslayer the Princess). As far as this Kang we've met so far goes, I see this scenario: Kang being simultaneously attracted to, fascinated by, and amused by Judge Renslayer like she's his favourite character in the drama he's writing, directing and watching, chiefly because of her determination, her ruthlessness and the way she basically deludes herself insisting that there should be no free will (to me it almost seemed like she was willingly trying to delude herself). The second way is that when he said "Does she still call me that?" indicated that they'd been together a couple of thousand years ago. The last way that I see it is that either this version of Kang or the variant Kang the Conqueror (who yes we've only seen through a statue but statues can tell you a lot about a person when they're done right) is saying either to this Renslayer or another Renslayer something along the lines of that short speech from the third last scene of 'All About Eve': "That I should want you at all suddenly strikes me as the hight of improbability. But that in itself is probably the reason. You are an improbable person, and so am I, we have that in common. Also a contempt for humanity, an inability to love and be loved, insatiable ambition, and talent. We deserve each other, do you understand that? And you realise and agree how completely you belong to me?"

Now that we have Johnthan Majors as Kang The Conqueror, I wonder who's going to play Iron Lad?

Thanos was great as a ‘starter’ overarching villain in that he was, ultimately, approachable in power. He’d grandstand, make threats, bludgeon the heroes into submission and butcher worlds *because he had to do those things to get to where he wanted things to be*. I recall seeing a commentary somewhere that until Odin, Hela, Ego, and the Ancient One were dealt with Thanos knew one of them and their army could at least deny him victory in some sense. He Who Remains/Kang is a great next step. He doesn’t taunt the heroes, send his minions, enact prunings, etc out of a sense of personal grievance with the protagonists. He doesn’t design ingenious traps to keep them out of his way long enough. *He doesn’t need to*. He’s already won and he knows that the only reason there are people left who are decent enough to take exception to what he’s doing is because he’s been doing it to protect them. Thanos’ conviction was based on an unproven theory in turn based on his own insane personal philosophy of sociology. HWR/Kang’s conviction is/was based on having spent presumably subjective universal lifespans seeing what happened when he tried literally everything else. Doesn’t make HWR/Kang any less evil, insane, or in need of stopping, but there’s a nuance to him that I don’t think would be received as well if we hadn’t been exposed to Thanos’ baseless insanity first. Now mind you this doesn’t apply as much to Conqueror since all indications are that he’s basically Thanos if the big guy had been properly competent.

Thanos: I used the stones to destroy the stones. He Who Remains: I used the Variants to destroy the Variants.

5:06 that was the trauma speaking. Such great acting. You can tell he flashed back to how he overcame his variants and won the war. He did what he had to do. And this kang probably will return. That see you soon both meant by his variants and him in another earlier timeline.

When he get wanda waking up as a nexus being He knew Loki and Silvia weren’t gonna accept his proposal since only 1 nexus being can exist And he knew he would die in order for wanda to exist

The whole threshold was him dropping his hold on the timeline as he didn’t want to spoil his ending for himself. He knew sylie wouldn’t go with the other plan. The threshold was in a way a timer for him to know when to let it go

That moment when he stopped, when they crossed the threshold, I feel like something, not Wanda, but something in the multiverse happaned, something big, something so cosmically improbable that even Khang the conquerer is out of his depth, I don't think it was himself, I think it was something so so so much worse

Love watching these scenes over and over love watching reactions to them breakdowns every video about this episode and character I be watching lol the only disappointing thing not getting to see more of him. There's millions other kangs or whatever that this guy can play but most if not all won't be like this guy exactly he was perfect lol love these man behind the curtain characters always want to see more of them but their screen time is always limited and some stuff they say makes sense fascinating but obviously they want to leave some questions lingering too lol but I'm always like man I wanted more of that character wanted a whole episode whole movie going into that dude back story we get that here a bit but I wanna see it another awesome character joining the list of men behind the curtain that I wanted to see more of but nope him Jacob on lost cool they did a movie for the wizard on wizard of oz wanted to see more of chucks back story on supernatural I'm blanking on others I'm sure right off was thinking of supernatural and lost but them thought of wizard of oz obviously lol Willy wonka I guess is a man behind the curtain but we saw him a lot more than Jacob or this guy I think lol. ant-man Quantummania truly sets the stage for what is to come. Kang is a threat unlike any thats come before. hes kiled Avengers, destroyed whole timelines. he has tech millenia beyond anything anyone else can throw at him. and theres infinite versions of him, some no doubt far more terrifying than others. He Who Remains is eccentric and has gone kinda loopy but Kang is a sociopathic ruthless conqueror

Guys, Nate is trying to create an ARK. He’s trying to create another multiverse. A multiverse without him in it. The sacred timeline was an experiment. To see if he can truly separate universes from himself. Now he’s going to do it on a much larger scale and let the Kang’s destroy the current multiverse they are currently in.
