I love them both but it sucks that Layne's talent isn't as widely celebrated, especially with that voice he had.

RIP Kurt Cobain, from England, I chose Kurt as my Son's middle name, he's 18 now and strangely reminds me of Kurt, he has long hair and can play the guitar too. I can still listen to the music now and it will never get old or repetitive, losing him at 27 is, for me the greatest loss in music history and he hadn't even reached his peak.

Thanks Charles for taking all those pictures. I remember buying Nevermind in 91 as a 22 year old. Kurt was my generations John Lennon.

I remember the moment the news came on the radio. It wasn't a huge surprise because CNN erroneously reported of his death in Rome the previous month. Nonetheless, 30 years later it still feels like a great loss to music. Kurt, we miss you.

I became aware of Nirvana when Kurt Cobain had passed away. I was a teenager back then. It was around the time ‘Nirvana MTV Unplugged’ was released, and ‘The Man Who Sold the World’ became a hit on MTV. That’s one of the reasons I started learning guitar and eventually formed a band with my friends. We used to play Nirvana songs back then. Beautiful memories I will never forget. RIP Kurt.

Charles Peterson's book is really good, got a copy myself, great pictures, highly recommend it, I was 13 or 14 when Nevermind came out and I'll never forget how great that record was for me anyways, I love Nirvana and love Kurt, 'till this day!

I think because this marks the 30th anniversary of Kurt’s death. But you’re right, Layne’s death was also tragic, and often gets overshadowed by Kurt.
