Jack, a tip you will surely never see: it's almost always best to fuse cards when given the chance to chose a path. Fusing cards make the for the most powerful outcomes and also thins your deck making it more consistent.

Fusing a card with a sigil on another card with a sigil is a really good trade off cause it can only make it better like i got a 7 power 7 defense card that costs me nothing to play and it got flying making that unkillable is op

Jack also at the boss fight it told you the mule is key so you needed to kill the mule in order to win i think. The mule also does not attack

I couldn't imagine playing every single thing, on video, on camera, having to constantly react and play up my reactions to make an interesting video. Sometimes I'd just wanna sit back and chill, and just...play a game. On my own. In this case though, I dooooo think he shoulda did it in a video, simply because he already did a part 1. Might as well do the whole thing on a video at that point.

When Sean sacrificed Stoat for Squanch, Stoat quickly said "Wow... Seriously?" That hurt.

But he did this to "save" him, I guess? When a card is "killed" they are not coming back to your deck, but when they are sacrified they are. (But suffer a lot) It's explained in the beginning, and that's why after Sean first death (live) Stoat was not here anymore because he was killed.

To be fair, the mule really isn’t key. The key, as with all of Inscryption’s bosses, is knowing what the second phase twist is going to be so that you can avoid getting screwed over.

Oh man Jack pleeeease keep playing this... it's SO interesting (and gets very creepy imo) Tips - The Stoat is right about The Prospector (the guy who won't shut up about gold) - kill the mule - get all those free cards, makes life A LOT easier. Also - you now know what The Prospector does when you defeat him once and he loses that first candle - all your cards turn to gold, so avoid putting important cards down if you can before he does this. Last tip for this first boss... The Smoke is a great card. It's a block - no damage dealt, but it gives you 4 bones. It's awesome to see how quickly you picked the rules of the game up Sean! (I took a lot longer lol) - I wanna see what you think of the... later developments... heheh! :P

The smoke is also just a great card to sacrifice. A tip I'd personally give is that the flying trait is generally the worst trait to have on your own cards. It can be handy to finish the enemy off, but it's a trap for new player that often gets them killed.

9:11 this line made me realize how horrifying the totems are. just like- imagine. You're wandering a trail through the woods, beaten down by the wildlife for years. Your animals follow behind you loyally. Suddenly, a chill runs diwn your spine, and your pack begins to grow reluctant. The air grows colder, and a red glow envelops the woods. You see rival animals blocking your path, but these were unlike the ones you had fought before. A coyote steps forward, it's eyes glowing red. It snarls, and slowly raises into the air, as if being picked up by the scruff of the neck. You hear a whimper from your pack behind you, as you send your stoat forward. The coyote, still suspended midair and growling ferociously, swoops down to attack. You raise your arm to block your face, and the coyote bites deep into your forearm. You fight it off, and it returns to its spot, suspended in air, snarling and snapping at you.

I love that the cards are alive. They jump and pounce for attacks. That's pretty cool! Also how the game master does dress up to play different characters is cool and helps with story telling so people don't get confused.

Didn't notice Jack was voicing the characters until about 10 minutes in. I legit thought they were being done by voice actors. After noticing this plus other things jack has been in (like bendy or enjoy the show) i think he should definitely dabble more in that career if he's interested.

Him acting out in cutscenes is really entertaining. The facecam edits also are appreciated, like when lights are off or when a character isa meant to be disoriented he edits the facecam accordingly. Its so cool i love it. sorry for bad english

I don't really like the voice as I feel like it's too rough and it should be just a deep voice not a rough and deep voice

I hope Jack plays more of this; I've been rewatching this fairly often since he put it up.

I was hesitant at first, I not a fan of card games but this looks actually interesting! I love that that guy is just like a DM with him acting out his NPCs and guiding him on this journey, and the voice you gave him was perfect. I hope to see more of this!

As someone who's already beaten the game, this might be a long series if this is how its paced. There's a LOT more story and content than just what you see here.

To be fair, jack isn't a speed runner and I've seen people make far bigger mistakes on their first time playing Jack actually did pretty good (though I feel he should have put the return after death sigil on a low cost card like the stoat or maybe Squanch since it is a strong airborne card instead of the wolf at 32:00 and he should have placed the cat before the stoat at 4:54)

Loved the start up of the video it went from the video tape and then into the moment I feel immersed

I played "Slay the Spire" when Jack said "Have you guys played "Slay the Spire"?" and this was the moment I was the most surprised in months.

Dude I was so invested that it took me over 14 minutes to realize that Jack was narrating the voice of the game master. It was so perfect that if I hadn't looked to his camera I don't think I would've ever noticed.

I must have more of this series. Jack's personality mixes well with this.

Holy shorts I love that Deep voice. Fists so well. Specially since ther is those small base bumps as that character is talking. My god.

Game: has dialogue Sean: My detaining finger is tingling

12:55 for those of you unaware, yes, you are supposed to lose, if you were to attack with a creature that would win the match, he will cheat and immediately fill the entire board with grizzly bears that have a sigil to block flyers. It's possible to still win, but you are very much not meant to.

I really really hope Jack goes back to finish this, I love his voices for the characters and wanna see his reactions to where the story goes

This game is super interesting, I cannot wait to see where it goes! And I absolutely LOVE the voice Sean does for the guy, it suits the mysterious and threatening vibe perfectly

Wait, theory from someone who hasn't played the game myself: All of the cards are either past players or animals the creepy, swirly eyed dude captured. The camera traps them into a card. That's why Sean had a "Squanch" card the next time and why creepy guy asked for his name again after he lost the next time. I can tell there's so much more lore within this game and I'm excited to learn more!

I also haven't played the game, but I'm pretty sure your right, and one thing I think solidifies your theory is that the guy said "Another player" at the very beginning and when Jack had to start over and keeps mentioning death and limbo when Jack lost the boss fight both times. But I wonder why only the two cards so far seem to be sentient and can communicate outside their cards, both changing their titles to the actual things they're saying and seemingly even being audible seeing as the guy in the dark knows what they're saying even when the front of the cards aren't visible to him which means he had to have heard them somehow. But why only those two so far? Are they somehow special cases?

Jack just a fun fact: you can put infinite sigils on one card which makes the rune table really good early to middle game

More specifically, there's no limit to how many sigils a card can have, but each card can only be infused with the soul of a single other card. So you can have 4 sigils on a card if it has 2 to start and you feed it a card with 2 others, but you'll be capped at 1 if you have a card with 0 and feed it a card with 1.

That would be cool.. But it's like a one-on-one dungeons and dragons thing.. It'd probably be pretty difficult to publish without wizards of the coast flagging them for plagiarism.

@@fullmoonshadow6967 that's not even like remotely true though. It basically plays like yugioh Massive spoils For real play the game blind. This game is actually built like a TCG. If you play it you'll notice that wizards are MTG style with mana, Robots are like hearthstone, beasts are (at least similar) to yugioh. I honestly have no clue what undead feels like. But th TL;DR is it would definitely function as a TCG

The chills were more his voice acting then anything. He really nailed the creepy "do not on this guy's bad side" vibe

this game is actually very similar to the way magic the gathering works, admittedly magic has a plethora of extra rules but that makes it more exciting! I'd def recommend :)

Fair warning: if you wanna make a series out of it, it's gonna be a long one (about 13h on average). Also, what you saw at 25:14 was a "battle puzzle": you were supposed to place the slabs/cards in a way that let your (bottom) side win the battle (it works the same way as the main game).

Let me recall your story: **Simply guitar ad** Great story

Here's a couple tips that'll get buried beneath the other comments: Ants deal damage depending on how many of them are on the field (I.E. you have 2 ants and 1 queen which means each one will deal 3 damage) Once you beat the Prospector, you get to choose 1 rare card with a sigil and a hidden ability that is never mentioned in game (such as the Ouroboros that will return to your hand while adding 1 HP and damage which carries over throughout the whole game). There are many rare card with hidden abilities but you'll have to try them out yourself as I don't want to spoil them.
