HE VICIOUSLY ATTACKS HIS OWNER! (REALITY DOG TRAINING)

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Training a dog that bites and attacks his own owner is difficult. This puppy border collie pulls on the leash and will NOT listen to commands. Professional dog trainer Tom Davis breaks down the dog training process.

I think a notable issue to address is that this dog (border collie mix?) is an extremely high energy and needs an owner who can properly provide outlets to fulfil its needs. Personally, they should of adopted/purchased a Maltese or some other dog that matches their lifestyle. That dog is literally rocket fuel and needs an insane amount of exercise.

The owner lady is the reason this border collie is crazy. Viewing the video, it is obvious she has a very bad habit of exerting CONSTANT pressure and jerks on the leash, creating constant crazy back pressure in the dog. It would help her to feel that kind of constant criticism and pressure on a leash around her own wrist or something: I didn't see her wake up to what she was dong no matter how many times Tom pointed it out, and at the end she talks about how much improved the dog is: it's she who needs to improve!. HOpe she watches this video herself! I guess she is over determined and fearful b/c dog has bitten before.

I was thinking the very same thing. This is just a normal border collie. I would bet his bites are just nips maybe he nips hard. some herding dogs have a harder nip with then are excited.I give them a ton of credit for working with her. I would have said this is the wrong dog for you. The dog looks like a nice dog, I could teach that dog new behavior each day and I bet he would love it. He just wants someone to tell him what to do and he is happy. I cant help but feel bad for the dog. Unless she gets a lot of help this will go right back to how it was before. the older you are the harder it is to break those habits.

We use a martingale for our GSD dog tags 24/7. She couldn't slip it off like she could the flat but otherwise either is fine for tags. For training, and taking her out and about, we use the prong. We've used slips on other dogs but with her thick neck fur and general non-sensitivity, the pronge makes a huge difference in our communication. No more reactivity! Yay! And they really, really don't hurt the dog! Sometimes we've put a scarf around the prong when around positive-only people (whose dogs keep yapping away!).

Elliot Goldendoodle I’m honestly ashamed you’re a human and I have to share a species with you... If you pay any attention to many videos he has done, a lot of dogs have training and were trained well; however the OWNER can’t be a decent human being and take control to enforce good behaviors and CORRECT bad ones. A dog can know 100 commands, if he doesn’t want to do them and you don’t correct him, he’s going to keep doing them and telling you to F-off. You cannot train a dog to sit, stay, down, etc. without CORRECTING them when they don’t listen. Also, he’s NOT training the dogs, he’s training the OWNERS and introducing the dogs to the structure - of the dog’s pack. You are alpha, you need to learn how to alpha and you need to teach the dog how to listen. What do you just think all puppies magically- listen and don’t need corrections and positive feedback when they do good? 🙄 Honestly, this is the most foolish and downright disgusting comment I’ve seen all day. I think you need to use your brain a little more; you developed one for a reason - to be used for practical and logical thinking. A corrective collar is a tool we use, properly, to help the dog while he’s learning. No one is chopping his toes off. It’s pressure. It’s like telling a child “don’t touch” and instead of letting them touch the fire - you swat their hand away. Don’t have to slap them to hell, just a quick snap to be like “what the heck did I just say! N o t o u c h it” and they LEARN. They UNDERSTAND. They hear “don’t do that” and their brain goes “endure some discomfort that I really hate - or do I not risk anything and just listen so I get my candy?” Some children don’t care if you put them in time out. I’m an abuse survivor so I do not support hitting. I will snap my wrist and catch a little hand, or arm, whenever I need to - because I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR CORRECTING MY KIDS. DOES NOT MATTER THE TOOLS. If I am SAFE and I am NOT ABUSING them or causing them extreme pain, I’m not being inhumane or evil. Each dog is different and so is each kid. Sometimes you gotta do things that sound awful and they’re just NOT. It’s the people applying it WRONG that are evil. Not the tools. Stop acting like the collar is bad. The person misusing it is bad. Frankly I hope you never own a dog or have a child. I would fear for either in your care. You clearly wouldn’t care enough, to properly raise either or. All because you won’t use the tools provided, because you’re just against them. You’re not being more humane; you’re being dangerous and promoting a dangerous narrative. The collars are not the issues. Misinformation and misuse is the issue. Stop blaming the collars and start blaming the people that don’t use them right. Applying pressure to help the dog associate bad things with icky feeling, is good. Would you rather just shoot the dog with a nail gun? Like seriously, what are you asking for here? How would you correct bad behaviors in puppies, if you’re against the tools? Please come at me with your best logic for this, you keyboard warriors all think you’re geniuses and have all the answers. Hit me with your best shot. How you gonna train your puppy and succeed, without corrective tools, such as a corrective collar? Gonna beat them? Water bottle? How’s that working? Bet the dog would still bark and basically tell you to go hop off a bridge - because they won’t listen when they start not caring and you’re letting them get away with it. Can’t wait for the illogical shade.

I like that you're honest and upfront with the owners to let them know what they're doing wrong. Not just anyone can do your job; A lot of people wouldn't have the courage to do that! Please keep it up! You're helping so many people, and so many dogs!🤗

Whenever I used to go to my best friends house, I would leave covered in dog hair and with holes in my clothes from her dogs jumping on me...and I would say "she has such bad dogs". After watching all these videos and getting a dog of my own that is trained and so well behaved...I leave her house saying "I feel bad her dogs have such bad owners". Her dogs could be awesome....but she refuses to change the way she handles them and we all suffer...including her poor dogs.
