These videos are excellent, but the grin on the Japanese player is a show of his own nervousness, nothing more. He knows who he's up against.

@@pleaseforgiveme1749 How do you spell "condescending jackass?" And while we're on the subject, BRUH, have you made any snotface comments to the makers of the videos? Because they are rife with misspellings and grammatical errors. The man writes something positive about Efren (which is technically a misspelling of the biblical "Ephrain") Reyes, and all you can take from it is a single spelling error? Look up the word "pedestrian" and we'll let it go at that. 😃

Why would you hope for something you know will never happen? You might meet him. I did. But forget about playing with him. First off whenever he's anywhere near a pool table, be sure that his time is lined up around that table and it almost always involves money.

Still, it makes for a pleasant thought, you walk into the pool hall and there he is, practising! Again, a fun daydream, which will invariably be shot down by some pussive-aggressive cynic, or replaced by a story of how some guy "Clipped" Reyes for ten grand back in the 80s. 😃

I think it's great that you publish Efren's videos, but creating a narrative that didn't exist by editing the scenes and on top of that putting a title that doesn't indicate what really happened, I think this is wrong. You don't need to do these things, anyone who is an Efren fan will come and watch the match without the need of these click baits.

One of the great things about having your own vision is, what others think you see/you're looking at, isn't even a care, much less on your radar. The way Efren plays and executes his shots reveals the quality of sight that he has. As it seems like most of these players are thinking that Efren will follow their lead, once they purposely place the ball in an area that seems complicated.

i play 9ball with a mate once a week, played 8ball alot when i was younger and those slicers against the cushion are my favorites. like the first one they play the cueball slow i kinda slam it with alot of sidespin and backspin into the cushion just next to the ball i wanna hit and because of the effect i feel it has more chance to hit it optimally. ive done this alot the angle from queball to target has to be very slim tho between like 85-80% my friends hates me for even trying them because he deems them almost impossible best thing is when i make them and he rages like thats not possible >.

I don’t agree. Efren is the penultimate greatest player (second) in pocket billiards, behind the great Willie Mosconi, "Mr. Pocket Billiards", who was the World hampion 15 times between 1941 and 1957. Efren was more flashy with his amazing impossible shots in match play, but Willie was the ultimate match player.

Do any gentlemen actually play this game, or just cut-throats? I know of another cue sport where the player getting the benefit of the foul would just play from there and ignore the ref's call.

I agree that the referee's call, denying that the player's intent wasn't clear enough , was a shit call . But Efren's hands were kind of tied here. If he had placed the ball back where it was when the referee picked it up as some have suggested , he would have forfeited his right to give the position back to his opponent. He would essentially have no choice but to accept the shot. If he had tried to give the position back to his opponent , the referee would have been within his rights to award ball in hand to the Japanese player. Would any of you players who were demeaning Efren's sportsmanship have been willing to do THAT ? I doubt that you would .

1:26 Rather dippointed in Reyes here. One would have thought (purely based on the amount of paeans on him here on YT) that such a champ would not accept this kind of ball in hand. Or since the ref decided to move the cue ball, Reyes IMHO should have put it back on the approx. original position. For those, who don't agree I have nothing to add. Maybe just that this simply isn't my conception of good sportsmanship.
