This was a fun one to watch. I watched both VODs simultaneously and it was crazy how close it was at times (up until the Maylene glitch). Three highlights for me: -Eric was going one direction on a route while RT went the other direction on the exact same route -They also managed to find the 8th gym at quite literally the exact same time. -Eric is talking about having trouble finding the third gym when he is 12 steps away from it. -Eric saying "OH SHIT! THIS IS A RACE!" seconds away from RT defeatedly saying "This isn't even a race anymore."

When you watch pointcrow play the map randomizer: ooh this looks so fun I'll try it! When you play the map randomizer: it's been 12 hours and still cannot find a PokeCenter

I’m not sure when it was said and it might not have been crow that said it but apprently only a very small percentage of the code in that game is understood or has been “solved”, somewhere around .2/.3 percent. it will be a while before we get to see those games, but i can’t wait!

You were struggling a lot with Arceus in the E4 because of the Ice Place. Ice type Pokemon have weaknesses to many of the most common attacking moves, and you didn't have any ice type moves on Arceus to take advantage of the same type attack boost. If you had no plate equipped you would have gotten a bonus to all of your normal type attacking moves and greatly reduced your weaknesses.

This was so fun to watch! Great seeing you two interact and compete

Just finished a run ith your mod. Feels quite amazing. Here is some nice strat for easy legendary catches. I found the door for the lvl 70 Kyogre after like half an hour, then i got myself a shedinja wich coudl tank the kyogre no problem and form there it was just throwing balls . Shedinja can also learn dig wich is also super practical for caves and adds an extra mobility option besides teleport. Can recomend using it

Anyone else cringing at the brute forcing of the E4/Champion fights? It was hilarious, but *by Arceus* Eric, Lucario is a Fighting/Steel type. It's fighting weaknesses are negated, so attack the steel type with ground, fire and fighting.

I don't think they are broken warps. Double doors have a warp assigned to each side of the entrance that they connect to so you enter a building on the correct tile. I don't think he's realized that they work as intended and any double door needs to be scrutinized.

When you go to save in gen 4 it shows you where you are.

It was so frustrating watching him keep the ice plate on arceus and not teaching his gods proper good moves with TMs... xD

You should probably have someone testing the seeds (a lot) prior to these “races”. Not much of a race if someone wastes a lot of time on a glitch.... Anyways - love these races. Would love more interaction along the way. But all in all amazing fun

You're talking about his first solo run, and I guess you didn't watch the second solo run (also available on the channel) because he did tell the modifications brought to the mod at the beginning of the VOD and he did catch Arceus in the second half, maybe last fourth of the VOD

I got an idea for the next iteration: Gym leaders and Elite 4 should be allowed to be battled at any time, it's no use if you're stuck not knowing the right HM move, like Strength and Rock Smash. The Champ needs to be challenged at the very end though, or maybe you could make it so that the Gym Leaders can be challenged at any order, but the Elite 4 and Champ need to be the correct order.

@@Michelle-hl5yc It was indeed stated in a way earlier stream that they do in fact have logic in the program that ensures everything can be done in the right order. These streams are basically beta tests for the final program to find bugs and make sure everything works right as well as providing free content.

Shouldn't take that long as soon as the public download of the randomizer is updated to feature Platinum. However, there's a visual application in development in which you can track the warps on a map using colored lines. It's going to release under the name TRASLA (Teleport Randomizer Assitance Solution Lookup Application) after some polishing. Yet, I have to decide on leaving the "auto solve" function in. Because that function sure is useful, but it could be abused for cheating runs.

Can you lock it till after you trigger the Hall of Fame flag? And add an "end run" button that after clicking lets you use it (in case you forfeit). That could be a way to keep the challenge while still keeping functionality.

(I know it's nitpicking but fuck it) it's not Ruby/Sapphire, it's Emerald, quite a few differences between the versions. And the mod will be available in the form of (if I'm guessing right) an upgrade of the universal map randomizer (unless it's a completely other version you have to download and you could delete the first version or smthin)

Spoilers for the end of the run: I know it's full by default, but it would have been funny if you had to catch all of the unown in order for the maniac tunnel warp to register and let you in to the champion fight.

I've never seen anyone so blind to his own mistakes in a pokemon battle. The E4 is way easier than you make it out to be, as long as you just take a moment to breath and not misclick every other turn.

The order is different in Platinum than in DP and BDSP. In Platinum, you fight Fantina first, then Meylene, then Crasher Wake, so he didn't cheat. He even told RT that the third gym was the math one (you do use math in DP), and RT was looking for the fourth gym, Meylene's, the entire time.

You never played Platinum then, the gyms are not the same order as in Diamond and Pearl.

@@xChaosPantherx The badge order in the case is the same, but the order in which you actually do the gyms is very different. It's part of the plot. It's Fantina - Maylene - Crasher Wake in Platinum, instead of Maylene - Crasher Wake - Fantina in Diamond/Pearl. You do the Hearthome gym when you first get to Hearthome instead of needing to go to other towns for other gyms and returning.

I really like the races, but I feel like crow never lets up on how the randomizer works or give them tips for writing down every info. Just seems a little unfair although I didn't catch the stream so I don't know the whole situation. I may be wrong about this entirely and if so it's my fault.
