I haven't shared this with anyone outside my confessor and a co-worker during a spiritual talk. But I have been discerning my vocation, and I am scared, but I believe God is calling me to live a hermitage as a monk. Away from the world, and enslaved to His will. I am scared because I have not taken this calling seriously until as of recently. During my research into the practice of the hermitage, early monasticism, and the desert fathers, I was pleased to know that within my own ethnicity and heritage as a Chaldean Catholic, there were people of my own ancestry who felt the same way as I. Please pray for me in my discernment. Please keep my soul in your prayers, my name is Joseph. God Bless you all and may we all learn to end our earthly desires and become one, in complete union with the will of God.

@@joeskill4663, allow me to speak: look for the genuine orthodox church and because several call themselves that, search for the one that is just that, a tiny one but the only Genuine Orthodox Church and it is in Greece. A few international protestants and fewer Catholics are numbered in it. Only His true Church has His Grace to absolve us our sins. Seek and He shall show you.

@dantecervantes6890 Jordan the partner from disrupt. He was the man behind the scenes who hired jak when he only had a GED and gave him a chance. He coached and taught Jak and paid him, he funded disrupt fully, the studio, equipment, editors etc. Then when Jordan saw the channel was doing well enough to replace the income from his other company he sold to work full time on disrupt. That was when jak launched his crowdfunding campaign in an attempt to buy Jordan out of disrupt. Jak tried to say this "other party" was going to totally screw disrupt up and change it negatively. The ironic part is jak wanted to make disrupt a channel about his Christian beliefs but couldn't with his partner and investor involved. So he tried to scam the fans under false pretenses of Jordan coming in and changing/ruining the channel when that was jaks plan all along. Buy him out of his own studio and then make it about God. When he got called out for scamming people he just fled and didn't say a word, leaving Jordan the man who found him, trained him, funded him to rot while he ran from his problems. They did a interview on disrupt where jak blames demons, takes no accountability for his actions and then hides behind God as an excuse for his actions. Never once said he was sorry, or took any of the blame. Just side stepped and blamed a demon (I'm not kidding). Then at the end he used the platform and man he abounded and screwed over royally to advertise this channel. Long story short jak is a scumbag with no morals.

You're right that the truth is in God, but it's not in the Orthodox Church. I say this as a former Orthodox Christian who was sucked in by the marketing spin, but found that the actual Orthodox Church was none of the things that it's billed as. It's just another purely human institution, nothing divine about it. There's nothing for you in a monastery except more misery.

Not to hate but can the sources of the information that are used in the video be linked in the description of the video? As I cannot be sure if this is a mistake when writing the script or an alternative source of story but... I was curious about this Saint and after I searched about this I found out that in numerous sources it's stated "37" years of his asceticism on the pillar, not "47" as stated at 20:28. (I guess the approximation to 40 years in the description of the video is fine, even though for the average human even a small period of days of asceticism would be a lot) My inner OCD self just couldn't bear that such a mistake could be done so easily. P.S Overall I loved the storytelling.

Pretty wild how jak totally screwed over Jordan, took no accountability, blamed a demon, tried to demonize Jordan for wanting to keep the channel going in the same direction while jak wanted to make it about his Christian BS and then had the nerve to plug his new channel in the end...absolutely wild that this guy feels no remorse and can't take any accountability after totally wrecking disrupt. Jak if you're reading this I hope you fail miserably in every aspect of your life. If there is a hell, you will be there without a doubt.

@@kras230so, let me get this straight, someone who was the face of a channel, put in all the work and wanted to go a different route is 100% at fault? Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with how Jak decided to do what he did, but let's be honest... What the hell did Jordan do after Jak left? Posted 3 mediocre videos that likely had the script written before Jak left. And because of that you want a man to fail in life and hope he goes to hell? Who hurt you? Look at how much Jordan is failing at Disrupt now. That's just being intellectually honest. I see the blame go both ways.
