I really don't see much difference, i think his voice ectually opened, plus why do people expect someone in their 50's to sing the same way he used to in 20, i think his great. Plus i don't understand why is his speech about Genocide in here, what does it mean?

And he gained back those screams when he grew back the beard, its the same concept as race stripes gives a car more horsepower

If he was more responsible with his voice back then, he wouldn't have done such damage. But those damaging screams and strain really defined his sound, who's to say SOAD would of still had an impact if the vocals weren't so wrenching and harsh? It's a catch 22

There are ways to warm up your voice to do certain types of metal screams. But, whether they did proper warms ups or not is beyond me.

True. I think he still has other things and he growls going for him. It went from "Rah" to "Wah", I heard from videos of their live performances.

5:52 seriously his singing is so good there, that's what proper technique sounds like. If he didn't spend so many years screaming with bad technique, he's voice would of been stronger AS well as properly trained and his voice would seriously be better than ever in that clip. At least he's still not screaming his guts out and destroying what's left of his voice, if you're not a singer then you can't comprehend the happiness that singing brings you, and how much it absolutely sucks when you start losing it.

He never sang with a bad technique Through all of these years his technique was really good I asked billions of extreme vocals teachers before and now, being able to hear it myself, I can easily say The only "bad tecnique" scream was in Spiders but it's really short anyway

Theres a reason he doesnt have gravel in his voice anymore, and its all his fault. him constantly singing like that is really hard on your voice and its basically like rubbing sand paper on a piece of very rough wood until its smooth.

Serj seemed to have lost his voice over the past few years but this year, his voice was on fire. 👌 Love him and Daron, John and Shavo. Love them all.

Recent history had some legends.. Leonardo da Vinci, Nicola Tesla, Bruce lee and Serj Tankian!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Serj opened up as a more wholesome and humorus guy in 1998 seeing the change of live performances in 1997 and 1998

daron is far from being the best guitarist ever, he has a good musical ear and knows how to sound good, but really isn't all that talented. the majority of riffs he plays are extremely simple. I'd credit him for being one of the best songwriters ever but not a very good guitarist.

daron is an absolute legend, he just doesn't show a whole lot of talent. his music is simple usually but by no means does the mean bad. there is a lot of simple music that's really good. take a song like "we will rock you" by Queen for example. objectively one of the biggest hit songs ever. it has almost nothing to it. so no simple isn't bad and daron is another example of that.

Like do you any of you honestly think a man with such an ear for sonic quality would actively sing nasally because he felt like it? That's a way of coping with damaged vocal chords, it helps with pitching. There are ways around it (like james hetfield's current vocal technique) but that doesn't work for everyone. And he does use that type of open throat, somewhat operatic sound for the clip at 5:52

No offense...But Daron's Voice barely changed. As for Serj's voice... For me it's this... 1995-2002:PERSONAL FAVORITE 2003:He Could still pull off a piece of his old voice. 2010-Present: SERJ BUY SOME DAYQUIL OR NYQUIL!! He can still sing just not as good when he sings the classics. In 2003 he can still pull it off but I'm sorry.. The man sounds like shit when he tries to sing Sugar,Chop Suey,Toxicity(ESPECIALLY), Aerials is Excluded because I still like it. But anyways... Mr.Tankian.. I pray you at least get your 2003 voice at least. But all I can do is hope.

The Random Tube I beg to differ on that last part, Daron has a hell of a falsetto and their parts are written beautifully to incorporate both of their unique voices in a way that they really complement each other. But yeah, he does have a great voice and it has never died out (nor will it ever).

I mean I guess he was pudgier in the late 90's/ early 2000's, but it's more the clothes he wore. Wearing oversized t shirts and cargo shorts surely isn't going to give you the same slim figure as skinny jeans, properly sized clothing, and tailored suits. He also went on a vegan crash for like 10 years starting in 98 or something... Plus I don't think he was going quite as heavy on the drugs after the toxicity era, but I can't confirm that.

Since I am an SOAD fan, I would called this Brilliant!
