    I worked for Marvel in the early 1990s and have a few thousand comic books in my basement. Sold some over the years at an antiques booth I used to have. Looks like its time to see what I have left down there. The best part is that they were all free. One of the perks of working at Marvel. Thanks for the video. Looking forward to watching the others.

    Ship them in Gemini mailers that are designed specifically for comic books. Shipping the way he showed often leads to bent books because the post office will just toss stuff ontop of your envelope and those two pieces of cardboard aren't gonna withstand 5lbs+ of pressure.

I am hoping to get some of them graded and a comic con convention .. When I was about 15 to 16 I bought the secret wars comics in 3’s and I never knew I would be an ebayer in my 50’s lol. Great vid thanks for sharing.

    this had some good info and hes right definitely look for those Novels cause they are out there. I personally wouldnt suggest buying too much bulk though if u dont got the room, and if u got a ol' lady then i suggest u dont even begin with even bringing them in your home. I do agree though that its the best way to go because usually the conditions are stellar. more often then none they coming outta storage the person probably hasnt touched them or hasnt looked at them in ages . long story short if u gonna go that route go small and make sure its something you legit care for. otherwise, its dead space

    Just like anything else it takes knowledge to know what to buy and what to sell. Most successful comic book resellers are also collectors with years and even decades of experience. While it is possible to learn what is needed to know don't expect it to be as simple as Retail Arbitrage, Online Arbitrage or Dropshipping. These methods take lots of work, but they are straight forward. Popularity of characters come and go. You have to know the current trends. Some mainstream characters will always be popular (i.e. Spider-Man, Batman, Superman) while others gain popularity due to the newest movie, but that can fade. Condition is a tremendous factor. If you do not know how to appropriately appraise the condition you could loose money. Also, your idea of a grade may differ from that of a prospective buyer. Third party grading of issues valued at over $20.00 is highly recommended. Third party grading is a whole other subject by itself. Also beware of the comics from the mid to late 90's. While there are some that are worth reselling, the majority of them are worth less than half of their cover price and they are worth less than the cost to ship them at any rate. The market and many collections are glutted with these books. You could end up sitting on a bunch of books you can't even give away. Good Luck!

    Completely disagree with the packing method. I've had a dozen books arrive packed like that and get damaged in shipping. You have to use a comic mailer are media mailer the people who are buying your book are going to demand a full refund if it arrives bent.

    I buy long boxes for $40 to $55 each. Yes some of the books are gonna be trash. Some are not. I'll put lots online but if anything is a good cover or a famous artist or a minor key I'm selling them solo. Don't lot everything. Lot the stuff together that you know won't sell by itself.

    Something you failed to mention comic books are not so much. Just key issues like first appearance in the golden age or silver age and Bronze Age. For example spider man #129 the punisher first appearance. Worth a good amount by the way. You can go to a company called CGC where they grade them and on website called comic shop gives you the full details on the issues value and grade.

    I started trying this in a little smaller quantity. Even though I now have a few "valuable" comics,, fairly hard to come by in good condition, now I just have a bunch of comics that no one buys. I get about 2 views per month on EBAY. Also, on EBAY, you find everyone just wants to buy them for way less. Rare Spiderman comics are going for a buck or two. And places like MYCOMICSHOP will only give you a few dollars for a really rare comics. They advertise they'll give you 5.00 for an Incredible Hulk #1, which others think is worth 30,000. Basically what they're saying, if you buy comics for anything over a dollar an issue, you're getting ripped off.

  • @Raikenprofit

    @Raikenprofit

    Comics will be priced differently. A lot of the specialty ones have to have certain characteristics to be worth the big bucks. There also has to be a market for the product. I'm sorry you don't seem to be having much if any luck with them!

    If the book is signed how much does it typically go up in price?

  • @Raikenprofit

    @Raikenprofit

    4 жыл бұрын

    It really depends on the book and author. If it's a limited edition, signed directly to someone, a well known author, a less known author, ect. all of those can and will affect the price. I would say it's typically safe to raise the price some, maybe $10 or more, but certain authors may fetch more for a signed copy.
