He's Almost 14 Months Old Now, We Live In Chaos & Trying For Another Baby! | Home Vlog

In today’s vlog we hang out at home with Jackson and give you a little update now that he’s almost 14 months old! We show you some of the things we’re working on with him. He knows some of his body parts, some of his farm animals and shapes! We’re so proud of him! Then we have some dinner, Jackson has pasta and veggies, we have pork katsu and bok choy. Both were great! Then we take you on a tour of all of the things we plan to do at our house. We had so many things planned last year and we did none of them so we want to try to do them all this year! Then we let you in on another little secret that we've been talking about for a little while. We really want to start trying for another baby soon! We'll keep you updated in future home vlogs. Then we end the night with a little chat on the couch. We hope you had fun hanging out with us at home today! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

Yea most people just show "the neat section" of their house. I know when our hot water tank stopped working, we were just pushing stuff out of the way and covering stuff up before the workers got there. LOL. It's the basement, but we were still like, "hide the mess!"

Jackson is so full of energy at the moment he can't be bothered to answer questions. He just needs to move around and PLAY! And DO STUFF! Tim, if you haven't started singing "Head and Shoulders Knees and Toes" to him yet, it was a reliably big hit with my nephews. It's especially funny (for them) when you do it faster and faster until its ridiculous and then act all tired.

We give the kids at daycare a blanket as soon as they are able to move it off of them or move about in the cribs usually around a year. Also it would be wonderful for Jackson’s fine motor development if you started encouraging him to feed himself. ❤️❤️

Love your honesty about your to-do list. I’m teaching from home full-time, because San Francisco is still in distance learning, with an 8 year old, 5 year old, and 14 month old home with me full-time, plus a dog and two cats, while my husband works outside the home for long hours - you can imagine my house! Ha!

  • @jmh4701
    @jmh47013 жыл бұрын

We gave blankets at a year because that’s when they were allowed to have them at daycare. But we also coslept some so he was using our comforter at around 6 months. He’s a very smart boy. I see you feed him most of the time when he’s on camera eating. Makes sense when you’re out but at home in the high a chair is this just to avoid a mess or do y’all ever just turn him loose? Turning them loose is messy but helps so much with fine motor skills. Those Instagram put together people spend a lot of time looking that out together lol. I have a sign in my house that says “excuse the mess, my family lives here” and I think that’s a great message. My house isn’t dirty but it has toys throughout and looks lived in. You’re normal lol. Ok I’m rambling but I’d love to see a 2nd tracker baby. Jackson will have so much fun with a sibling. It took us 4 years to get pregnant again after our first so mine are 4 1/2 years apart but they still play together well.

When in doubt check the American Academy of Pediatrics for info! Blankets are not safe in a crib but are safe once baby is in a toddler bed. Also most cribs have a safe maximum height of 35” for babies so once Jackson is 35” tall he should be moved to a toddler bed (or even the crib mattress on the floor, as long as his room is safely childproofed!)

Thank you for being real. I loved the moment “don’t show the internet the hole in my socks” and the real life messy room. As for the infant car seat donate it, now. Many places will not take care seats due to recalls, accidents, and safety concerns so you might have to ask or find a person in need. The car seats have an expiration date and if you have another baby you will want a new seat. The expiration dates aren’t that long on the seats. You made me tear up letting us know you are thinking about another baby. Thanks for being real and sharing. Prayers and just know God is with you.

My two year old (shes 26 months) still sleeps in her zipadeezip. We love it. We don’t feel comfortable with a blanket in her crib and this is perfect. My oldest slept in his until he got a big boy bed when he was 3. Also I think it helps prevent them from escaping out of their crib and climbing over. It’s a lifesaver!

I am a mother of 4. The last two were twins. I have always said if I had it to do it again I would have had one. I loved the alone time I got with my first born. We spent so much time together learning about life and discovering new things. When I had my second child that stopped. My oldest didn't understand why suddenly I couldn't do the age appropriate things I did before. Everything was about the "baby" I could never give the baby the attention and care I gave the oldest. They were wonderful babies. They are and have been best friends. Then I had the twins and life was just crazy. Covid won't last forever. You will be going out more and more. I think having an only child would have been wonderful. Just my opinion. You are wonderful parents. Whatever your decision your child/children will be very lucky to have you.

I've been rewatching your vlogs from when you guys went to Japan. Just knowing that you guys had no idea back then that you would have a baby and now seeing Jackson grow make my heart melt. You two really deserve the best and all the blessings I'm your life. ❤️

`I agree. More home vlogs please!!!! Take one room at a time and organize, paint, arrange the room, and you will get there. No one's homes are perfect. I loved the way you all fixed up and did so much work on your first home. You can do that to this one too. I hope that you can have another baby. I think Jackson will be a great big brother. I would not get rid of any of the baby items. Especially since your going to try to have another child. Get organizing things to be able to store the baby items away until you need them.

You could always invest in a shed for the back yard, if the HOA approves of it, to hold stuff you don't use often or are holding onto for a future baby and keep what you use often in the garage so the shelves aren't so heavy and everything can be organized

Tim, suggestion for the garage shelving I use with wire rack shelves. Get enough sections of 1X4 wood to span the length of the wall. Find the studs in the wall a secure the 1 x 4 to the studs at the height you want using wood screws long enough to go into the studs. Get some plastic straps to fasten the wire rack to the 1 x 4 as needed. I do about a foot on the straps. Position you down supports so they align to the studs and fasten with wood screws long enough to go in the stud. If you want to be fancy you can paint the 1 X 4s the same dark grey as the garage walls. It will hold what you need.

You guys could look up the concept of Hygge. It’s the Danish way to live well. The main idea of hygge decor is to create a peaceful, serene space that is free of clutter. But even with clutter, as long as your house feels peaceful and serene then you’re onto a good thing 🙂

We live in chaos too, and our little is now 6 1/2. You’re so right, it does get harder to do things, and probably even more so now that Jackson is mobile! I have said to a few friends with kids younger than ours, “It doesn’t get easier, it just gets different.” At least for the first few years!

A simple way to improve the strength of the garage shelves is to use suspension to support the front edge. Redo the wall anchors, then use lag bolts in the roof joists and some galvanized steel wire running to the top shelf and each next shelf. Wires on each end and in the middle would be fairly cheap, simple to install, and not too obstructive. Good luck with the projects!

The best shelving system is the wire shelves/or wood that has a wall supports that screw into the studs as the main anchor. Then you have vertical supports that hang from the top support. It’s holds a ton of weight. We had the shelves you showed and all of them came out of the wall with clothing, food or whatever we had on the shelves. We got our new system from Home Depot. Not cheap but 0 have come down. Keep working on your house. It eventually will get there and then you find new stuff and ways to organize and it starts all over. We donate to a lot of thrift stores that offer help to inmates who are re-entering society and looking for work. Good luck.

Tim , On the Garage racks here is what you do , Remember I am 65 so I have been there . .LOL.. Take everything off of that wall . Then Measure the wall and if it is under 12' wide get Four(4) 2 x 4 's Place them against the wall and lag them into the wall studs . Place one lag bolt at each stud . PRE DRILL ALL OF THE HOLES . If you wish to counter sink the lag bolts get yourself a 1" or 1 1/4 Butterfly bit and drill the counter sink holes first . Then finish drilling through the 2 x 4 . Then use a smaller drill bit to drill into the studs . NOW YOU HAVE FOUR 2 x 4 's to hold the racks . DON'T USE BUTTERFLY SCREWS , They will pop out just like the ones the former owner used . Now you have a SOLID FOUNDATION to work with . You can pile alot of stuff on them now and not worry about them falling once again. IF you like PRE PRIME THEM AND PAINT THEM before you hang them to match the wall color or just paint them BLACK . . Have any questions ASK . I have Built 15 homes now from the ground up helping my Friend the CONTRACTOR and have learned Alot more than I ever wanted to know . The big house is just under 13,000 SQ FT . My ex wife's walk in Closet is 802 SQ FT Alone . But the big Challenge was building the 54,000 SQ FOOT Recording Studio for my Son . That took a crane to build . The Big room has 54 foot ceilings . It is Big enough to hold a the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra . My friend is in Charge of their sound .

My kids all had blankets by the time they were a year old. I felt it was safe when they could easily move themselves around & pull a blanket off their head when playing peek a boo. It’s totally what you guys feel comfortable with as parents too, not what all the books & websites say. Trust your instincts. 😉 Also my husband acts the same way when I start listing all the house things. I’m ready to go and he wants to nap.
