He should stay where he is . He should never be released
Prison sentences aren’t just about keeping the public safe but also about taking violators freedoms away as a form of punishment, to fit the crime.
This lawyer is deluded . I hope he stays in prison for such serious crimes. His daughter and her children benefit from knowing he is locked up . I cannot imagine the suffering they went through. The comment about psychological problems is insulting . It shows her own lack of empathy.

Since his daughters childhood was stolen in the worst way including the children born in the basement. Just no. Never again should he be given another chance to do this again.

he will be 90 years old and has served his sentence. And I bet you are not from austria nor do you have any clue about their justice system or the psychiatric treatment there who have to predoct if someone is still dangerous or not.
He's pure evil. Christian charity? He needs to pay for his crime.... for the test of his life. She has no right to speak for the victim.
So no one asked the lawyer if her house has a small basement - or space for one? The falling standards of Times' journalism
I get that criminal rehabilitation is important to the austrian people. Especially rehabilitation of the older generations.

Hes not only a friendly old man, he's also a great engineer & fantastic builder. How many other gilrs can say their dad built them their own fiat & then paid all their expenses for the next 24 years. Those poor kids needed a father figure & so what did grandpa Fritzel do........he provided like any decent dad. The only crime he's guilty of is loving his daughter & he really loved loving his daughter.
