Yeah well AIDS was a death sentence back then anyway regardless how you got it. My friend's brother died of it 20 something years ago too he may have used drugs I'm not sure I am sure his family missed him though that's the sad thing about the movie how terminal patients are just treated as less than human because they are on deaths door anyway. She's going to die but maybe with less stigma and victim blaming than him still has to work at a place where her co-workers are repulsed by her too even if all she did was have a baby they both had sex with a man and got a fatal disease as a consequence.

I have a friend who lost a brother to Aids too. Sharing a needle using drugs. When this movie was released, there was still a lot of misinformation about the disease
