That chief arbiter should be replaced if Alireza's story is true. That is an absolute disgrace. I had an opponent try to talk to me while I walked up and down the playing area and I was angry. My time was running and he broke my train of thought, I know that feeling. It was extra satisfying when I eventually won through to absolute victory. I did claim against him for intentional distraction after his third draw offer.

I agree, dudes crazy consistent and really able to defend and get draws. He's missing some slight special sauce to win the championship but he's shown that when it comes to candidates he's insanely consistent. Id hate for Ding to lose but if Nepo can level up under the bright lights he deserves it. I think he'd hold the title for some time as well.

Blessed and cursed? Stop with your stupid excuses. Hikaru literally lost two games against Vidit and Caruana has his up and downs but Ian is solid and nkt even lost a single game. I'm indian and I'm happy that all 3 of them are playing great but when they play against Ian it's always scary as he is well prepared and don't let anyone takes big advantage in these candidate games...

@FlipLegacy Well, it's not a joke; it's more of an excuse. I also follow Hikaru's streams, but I'm not his blind fanboy. People are saying Hikaru doesn't care and all, but in reality, he was disappointed. You can see that in the match, and even after the match, he avoided the fans waiting for him. It's rare for Hikaru to avoid his fans, so it just shows that he was not happy, and he genuinely cares about the Candidates. So, it's all hypocrisy that he doesn't care and all these curse excuses...

It was i think with Vidit(or could be gukesh) and it gave him the 30 mins at the 39th move than 40th. But it wasnt that big of a deal since it wasn't a critical moment of the game, rather the game had already petered out and they were just shuffling to get a draw

Ali didn't claim that he would have won without the interruption, he simply said that it's unacceptable to be disrupted in a middle of a game for such a stupid reason and that it made him loose focus

Magnus rated vidit as 'will perform poorly' and hikaru as 'likely to win' and hikaru said he would not change anything in this rating. Now vidit has defeated hikaru in both the games of the tournament 😂. Way to stay grounded lol.

Magnus prediction is getting worse and worse every round.

You know, we used to say Ian was inconsistent and reliant on having the time advantage to suprise his opponents, that was his style some five years ago, but his defensive resourcefulness has really shined through this tournament and proves how he has really mastered what used to be his weakest point. It's important for a defensive player to be able to get into the mind of the attacker and this is what makes Nepo specially effective. He realizes Alireza is smelling blood and starts to do a King walk and setting up a fortress. Nepo bends but does not break

At this point it looks like Vidit has become Hikaru's kryptonite along with Magnus!!
